  1. Architecture in Helsinki - Hold Music
  2. Perhaps even "Basic"? I had been working on a similar version when MiniVanMan posted this so I unfortunately wasted a fair bit of time. There are a couple of things I'll try to add later when I have time.
  3. They'll be in a CRX, assuming he can fit them.
  4. Yeah, 1kW isn't a big deal for the Icon.
  5. Looks pretty good. Shoulda shaved the gate and maybe lower it a bit.
  6. I don't see any price adjustments on SSA or Mach5: I see the same price but with shipping included.
  7. There is quite a difference between 3 cubic feet and 4 cubic feet. Generally speaking, the smaller the enclosure is, the less efficient it becomes and the more low frequency performance you give up. Going from 4 cubes to 3 cubes is quite a big difference, especially for 15" subs. Also, it becomes harder to tune the port to a low frequency: if we assume the same cross sectional area of the port, a longer length is required to achieve the same tuning as the enclosure becomes smaller. Not sure exactly what you're asking with the second question, but MDF is not particularly expensive. You can get whole 4' x 8' sheets of 3/4" MDF for less than $20, and that would certainly be a step in the right direction.
  8. They go well with a big plate of spaghetti and a tough workout.
  9. Almost done my dash.
  10. Yes, there seems to be more of the carbon fiber Poly's around than anyone has let on. I'd like to get my hands on a few myself. Of course, if the new version did have a carbon fiber cone, it wouldn't make much sense to call them "Poly's", now would it?
  11. The Poly's will most certainly play to 3.5kHz (they have low enough inductance to go well beyond their usable range), but most reports have been that they lack a bit of detail up top. Personally, I would rather use the Poly's as the dedicated midbass and get a 4" or smaller widerange driver.
  12. Good football game on tonight.
  13. Have fun, Sean. Don't pass out in the water, eh?
  14. "Punch this" Gladly!
  15. I like lamb chops. But I would kill that sock puppet in a heartbeat.
  16. With the exception of the Indie scene (which is just Indie being Indie; the music isn't mass marketable, although it's growing on people lately), there aren't any good underground artists, because as soon as anyone likes them, they get signed. Information and opinions travel too fast to stay good and unknown for very long. Also, if you can't enjoy good classical music, your opinion on music doesn't matter to me; you are clearly missing some "taste buds".
  17. I really despise musical elitists. I listen to music at least 10 hours a day, 5 days a week, and at least 8 hours total on the weekend. Please don't pretend your tastes are better than mine: they're just tastes, and I have likely heard your cool "underground" band's CD 3 times in the last month. Just enjoy the music and quit the elitist garbage!
  18. Congratulations Sean and I wish you continued good luck.
  19. Man Scott, those pictures are really telling the story. Midbass much? When you have this done and the next time I'm Saskatoon, we'll need to go for a trip around Circle Drive or something.
  20. They are aluminum coils, not flatwound. Copper has too much mass for the application. Not Fi, but 100% guaranteed.
  21. The best kind. Lotta good posts there.
  22. Double-checked on Facebook: it is Leong. Scott: probably better, yeah. DIYMA has been crack-a-licious the last couple of days.
  23. Jeremy's last name is Leong, I believe. Scott, I think I've got a buyer, so you'll probably miss out, I'm afraid.
  24. I greatly prefer the cold.
  25. Today is my official "Day of Long-Windedness" apparently. With the exception of this post, I suppose.
