Kinda like a guy at the local monthly car meet told me that this system hit 197db... BUT in a different car. and ported... but it was still fiberglass so that made it about 20db louder that the standard wood enclosure. LOL cant find the pic right now but its 4 of the older Memphis 10's. the ones with all the colors and stuff. sad thing is... ha owns a shop!!

I gotchya guys. I just put 160it out there. If I hit 154... ill be happy. Now that I've been thinking... I am really excited about doing the first mega DCON build.

Yes... yes indeed Wont be that easy and wont happen like that, if that was the case everybody would be doing 160's. It will take a boat load of money, experience, time, rebuilding and probably messing up plenty of subs to reach your goal. Its not going to happen on the first build you do, it will require lots and lots of testing plus vehicle modifications. Do some research on serious competitors and see what all they done to reach high db levels, there are people who been competing for many number of years who still havent reached 160. i know. im not planning on reaching it right off the bat. and if i cant... thats fine also. just wanna try my best and have fun doing it. Lol. Be prepared to do heavy vehicle modifications, bracing, window reinforcement, so forth. Good luck. yea. im prepared for all of that. hence the reason for not being my daily anymore. yea. i understand. im hoping for the best.

Yea. Lol. My last setup was a 18" xcon on a saz1500. It was around 145 or so... so I want to jump over the 150s and go straight to 160s.

My goal is 160... so once it gets closer to the build...I will start a thread on how many of what size I should use to achieve my goal.

I have plenty if room. Its a wagon (see sig) and I will be taking out the back seats.

i think it would also. well, before shipping, the 4 18" ZCONs would be about $2k and 16 12" DCONs would be about $2k also. thats the delima as of now. but it seems as everyone agrees on more cone area. so i guess everyone thinks 12-16 DCON 12"s would be louder than 4 18" ZCONs? i know they will all sound good. i think i would go with 16. haha. just because. hmm, may be a possibilyity... seems as you guys have alll agreed on the dcons.

SO... im trying to gat an idea of what im going to do for my setup in the wagon. I will be walling it off. As some of you know... I bought a new daily driver that I gotta get running. So this build will be after all that is done. I just want to get an idea of what I will be doing. my original idea was to go with 4zconsa on 4saz3ks. But I was thinking... would a bunch if Dcons get louder? My goal id obviously to get loud while sound good doing it...that's why im going with SSA. I was thinking of doing something like a clamshell if I do the icons. Maybe like 16 12's or 10's. Something like that. Maybe on 2 saz3500s. Just trying to get some opinions.

VERY SEXY ALTS! Did you absolutely need all four alts for 10k watts? Or are you trying to stay above 14v at full tilt? Reason I ask is because I can only fit one alt in my car and was gonna go with a single 390xp. But I will be running 10-12kwatts as well. I hope it will be enough. Lol
