Trunk Box Problems
Ok... i think iv figured it out. Smaller box. 7 cuft isnt going to work much at all... Ill be going 5.5 cu ft instead!. 18.5" tall, 30" wide and 28" deep. That will give me atleast a little bit of play room in my trunk and should work great!

Trunk Box Problems
Yes i did, sorry for the confusion. Its in the trunk firing rearward. I might have to fire it forward... idk i need to figure some more shit out. Right now my box is going to be 18.5" high, 30.5" deep, and 34" wide... I only have 19" of height clearance.. and there really isnt much room.

Trunk Box Problems
Alright... so with the dimensions i am using for my 18" BTL, it will give very limited space for air to move around the box. I was going to fire it into the trunk, BUT it will give little air space to move around the box to get back into the cabin. Will this be a major problem? If so ill need to rethink the build.

2004 Alpine DVA 9861 HU
I have no way of knowing (atleast that i know of) to let me know when my HU starts sending out a distorted signal and i dont trust me ears that much. So i was just wondering if anybody has personal experience with this head unit and at what volume it starts to distort. The previous owner told me not to turn it up past 24/35, but i have also heard that some alpine HU's aswell as other high quality HU's will be able to go up to full volume without distortion. Im starting my new build and want to re-do all the gains on my amps so this would take some guess work out of it. Thanks.

sub skips beat on high volume
See thats what i was thinking dictator. Once it gets that peak volume it goes into protection momentarily because the gain is too high

Electrical Problems
First of all, a main rule is never to play your HU on anything over 3/4 max volume. You should only be playing it at about 24 max. That could be the problem, also check and make sure your gain isnt set too high.

sub skips beat on high volume
May even be seriously clipping if the gain is too high?

Well... im at my girlfriends house tonight... and tomorrow is football.. So ill do my best to get those pictures in on Monday- 2004 Impala - Fi BTL 18" N2
Hello Guys, I dont have any real pictures yet, but iv decided to get a little hype going for my first ever build. So heres what is going to be happening. Iv got a 2004 Impala, Currently with a set of Infinity 5.25 Reference components and Pioneer 6x9 coaxials in the back, powered by a PG Ti 500.4.. I had 2 Alpine Type X 10" and sold them. Now what will be happening with my current setup is as follows -Removing rear 6x9's to make room for my box in the trunk. -Replacing Infinity's with Bravox CS50k's -Keeping PG Ti 500.4 to power Bravox's -American Bass VLF 100.1 to power the subwoofer -18" Fi BTL N2 in the trunk, tuned to 32hz. Ill be building a box out of cardboard to make sure it will slide in nicely before i actually build the full thing. Pictures coming soon of my sub and amp, Ill also be posting the process of building my box (Be easy on me its my first time!)- $#*@&! moments.
Accidentally had a 40hz test tone in my playlist... I dont know how else to describe it.- Got some new rims and tires. *Pics
