General Questions
Sundown just announced a second preorder on the 3500D. . . Or do a pair of AQ2200D's. If you use 2 amps, you will need dual 2 ohm subs. Wire the coils in parallel on each sub and get 1 ohm per amp.

I am going to say they will work great in 6-10 ft^3 each. 80-100 sqin of port per sub is enough. Yes, they can be reconed. Brian

General Questions
HiXmCoil is High Xmax Coil. The winding on the coil is longer giving the sub more linear excursion. Dual 1 vs Dual 2 is the voice coil impedance (resistance). You need to match the impedance to the amp you will buy. If you are going to use a single amp like the 2000D, you want the final impedance to be 1 ohm. To get this, you buy subs with dual 1 ohm voice coils. This will give you a total of (4) 1 ohm voice coils. When you wire resistors in series, you add the resistance, R + R + ... + R = R (total). When you wire them in parallel, they add as 1/R + 1/R + ... + 1/R = 1/R (total). When you wire the subs, you will wire the voice coils on each sub in series (so now each sub is 2 ohms), and then wire the 2 subs in parallel to the amp (bringing the load back down to 1 ohm). This will give you the most output from the amplifier. 2000 watts is enough, but will not come close to giving them their full potential. With that much power, you could use BL's or even AA Havocs and more than likely not notice a big difference. Brian

Who does Fi ship with?
Good luck. I JUST received a UPS notification for the 9 subs I ordered! (no joke - it just hit my outlook inbox!)

Wanna go active on a budget
I run AA 7" Carbon Fiber Mids and Morel MDT-12 Tweeters in my van doors. Very strong mid-bass and the tweets are aweome. XO at 2300 Hz. You should be able to buy (2) mids and (2) tweeters for under $230. If you like the headunit you have now, why not just add a 2-channel active XO? Something like the Kicker KX3 is under $100.

Box design for btl's
That is actually a little on the small side for (2) 18" BTLs, but it will work. A box 49" x 20" x 29" with a 25" wide x 6.5" high x 19.25" long port gives 10.8 ft^3 net volume with a 35 Hz tuning. That assumes a 1.5" top and 3/4" sides/bottom. 40" x 26" x 26" is even smaller. . . Brian

Lvl5 18 vs BTL 18
Mine do fine. Just need enough of them, the correct crossover, and plenty of power. . .But horns are nice if you have a good place for them. Brian

03 GMC Yukon Denali Pioneer AVH-P6000DVD (4) 18" FI BTL in a wall (2) 10"FI Q in rear door for mid bass (4) Sundown Saz-3500d for 18s (2) Sundown Saz-1000d for 10s (2) Sundown Sax-125.2 for A-Pillars and Kick Panels (1) Sundown Sax-50.4 for doors (6) MB Quart PVI 216 (2) MB Quart PVI 164 (3) iraggi 300amp alt Big Three MLA module 300sq ft Dynamat Just run (1) Sundown 2000D to the 10" Q's (or get rid of the Q's). Run more power in the doors if you are going to have (4) 18's on 14000+ watts. Consider killing the Q's and run multiple AA 7" midbass and nice tweeters in an active 2-way setup. Midbass from the 7" drivers in awesome! I run mine down to 65 Hz with 115 watts RMS per driver. Feels like someone is punching me in the leg with 6 of them in the door!

Single FI box
Don't forget the Q somewhere between the SSD and the BL. It is great for deep boomy bass in the right box. There is also the AA Havoc. . . Can you post up some maximum dimensions? I do not think a 15 would be a problem, but it woudl be easy to figure out with some dimensions. Brian

Square port area?
That will work great.

I was at my shop and took a couple of quick vids. When I was up close, the camera recording is really distorted, but there is no distortion coming out of the speakers - the distortion is just the camera! http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x24/bko...nt=MVI_1759.flv http://s183.photobucket.com/albums/x24/bko...nt=MVI_1760.flv- AA Arbiter TM
I would think so. 1W/1m is pretty much the same, and the Fs will handle the crossover frequency. You can still buy the original from madisound: http://www.madisound.com/catalog/product_i...roducts_id=1679 Brian- (6) Mayhem 15's and (6) 40.1's
So I finally got an hour to work on the van tonight and was able to get the Kicker amps up and running. The AA CF mids are sweeeeet. I have them running from 67 Hz (18 dB/oct HP) to 2264 Hz (12 dB/oct LP). The tweeters are running from 23XX Hz (36 dB/oct HP) and up. With the headunit settings all set to flat and absolutely no EQ, it sounds awesome. And man is it ear-piercing LOUD!!! Left my camera at home, but I will get a video soon. I woudl like to take a video from about 100 yds away with the doors open so you can see just how loud it is! Should have subs soon. . .no, not SMD subs - just something to hold me over until then- (4) 15 BTL or (2) 18 BTL
I have run (4) 15's vs. (2) 18's with MT's in a wall behind the second row of seats in a suburban. Both setups in roughly 12 ft^3 tuned to 35 Hz. They metered within .2 dB of each other, but the (4) 15's peaked a few Hz lower and were much louder listening to music. Everyone who heard both setups could not believe they metered the same. Also - 7000 watts is MORE THAN ENOUGH to run (4) 15" BTL's. They will take more, but they will be fine with that much power. I have run them on as little as 900 watts each and they sound great! Brian- 08 BL Model
Or you can post up a WTB ad on a few forums. i bet you can find someone wanting to sell an 08 model so they can get an 09 model.- bl vs. btl

You run from amp pos to terminal 1 pos. Then terminal 1 neg to terminal 2 pos. Then terminal 2 neg to the amp neg Figure out what is wrong before u hurt the sub!!! - (6) Mayhem 15's and (6) 40.1's
