Havoc magnets ???
Not likely a problem. The coil is gapped to the top plate, not the actual magnet. There is plenty of clearance between the coil and the magnet. The magnetic force in the gap is not going to be affected by that much of a shift. . . Brian

Impeadence rise?
It really is not if it is in static position, it is if you have DC current or AC current. DC current, the resistance is the coil's DCR, AC current is the impedance with the 'Z' portion as you described.Apply DC (like a 9 volt battery) to a coil and the cone will jump, but the coil resistance is still the DCR. But the measured impedance at a given frequency will be different for a driver in and out of the box. Every time I have ever measured it, it is always higher with the woofer in the box. . . Do you not agree?? Brian

Check Out What UPS Delivered Today!!!
I could not tell from the pictures. . .It looked like it was just the standard 5 layer birch. . . BTW - Box looks awesome! Brian

Check Out What UPS Delivered Today!!!
That looks like standard Birch Plywood. Works great (I have used it on multiple boxes), but to really be as good as MDF, I think you need the 11 or 13 layer void free Birch plywood.

2-dual 1ohm BTL 12s....2500+rms or 3500+rms
So if it comes down to money, sounds like you have to make your own decision. . . If you are asking which one is better. . . .let's just say the BTL will take 3500 each without any problem. . . As far as actual output, if you go from 2500 watts to 5000 watts, you will gain 3 dB if you are really lucky. 2500 to 3500 will be a noticable difference to the ear. Worth the extra effort, once again you have to decide.

Broken Tinsel lead and burned hole in spider !? help
You are way over driving that sub if you have killed the tinsels twice and burned a hole in the spider. . .Even if it was still in warranty, your misuse more that likely would not have been covered. Brian

Wiring Relays in Parallel Please READ
With the top pic, you might as well just have one relay, since the same current will pass through both. With the second option, the relays are in parallel and the current will be divided between them.

having issues paying thru paypal
Use thick paper (like manilla folders) for shims. Cut to fit inside the coil. Keep test fitting until it is tight. I even use sheets of paper after the manilla folder pieces are tight to make sure it is a good snug fit. Just don't get it so tight you cannot pull it back out after the recone is glued in.

Is it possible to recone a BTL to a AA Havoc?
- Is it possible to recone a BTL to a AA Havoc?
Let's try it. . .I would love for my Mayhems to look like Havocs. Does the Havoc have the inner 3" cap over the coil?- Who knows their Projectors??
Can you point me to a few of those reviews? The company I work for is a VERY large OEM distributor of Panasonic products, so I can get the AE2000U for quite a bit less than the 1080UB. The main reason I was leaning toward the 1080UB was for the brighter output. Evan's review said the AE2000U loses picture quality over 100" (or too far from the screen) in cinema mode. . . Thanks! Brian Sorry to jack the thread- Pics of Ascendant/Sundown System
Man it is awesome! Where is the video???- Pics of Ascendant/Sundown System
Wow man. What subs are those? I don;t even feel like building my van anymore- Building a Home Theater Computer
www.avsforum.com is another good source. I built one for my projector, but the newer processors in the projectors actually do such a good job decoding that I am not even sure if I will use it in my new HT. Brian- Tweeters
Scott is building a nice set of tweeters under the Ascendant brand name. . .- I'm going at it just one more time.
And a truck that just lost any trade-in or resell value! And BTW - I get 3.25 ft^3 total before woofer displacement: ((9-1.5)+(11-1.5))/2 X (14-1.5) X (55 - 2.25) = 5605 = 3.25 ft^3 Will still work fine. I would add a 20 oz bag of polyfill to each side. Brian- Who knows their Projectors??
HD65 = 720p resolution. It will accept a 1080p signal, but converts it to 720p for display. from the Optima website: "The Optoma HD65 is a 720p home theater projector that brings accessibility to high-definition, big-screen video content. At 1600 lumens and the latest color processing technologies, the HD65 delivers subtle and incredible image quality and contrast. With a variety of connectivity options, including HDMI v.1.3, the Optoma HD65 reproduces the realism that high-definition offers."- Who knows their Projectors??
The HD65 accepts 1080p, but its native resolution is 720p Epson Home Cinema 1080UB. . .Unless something new comes out soon, that is my next projector. Installed a standard 1080p (not the UB model), and it was incredible. http://www.projectorcentral.com/epson_cine...0_ub_review.htm http://www.visualapex.com/Epson/projector-...e-Cinema-1080UB Brian- Need a sub recomendation
Are those external dimensions? If so, you have less than 4 ft^3. You going ported, or sealed? - Is it possible to recone a BTL to a AA Havoc?
