I need a DC REP
Cool. Well no update on anything with the alternators. I am still sitting here with the assumption that my alt is going to be done but i guess not. I am glad you took care of edouble101 but as i look bad i was the OP of this thread and still haven't been helped or updated. And after reading other threads talking about poor customer service and how one of you are always busy and just can't give a call back. I have YET to get one call from DC power, it's always out going. On top of that, i called everyone at the shop AND left a voicemail with every person there. I didn't get one call back, still haven't gotten one call from DC power. Awesome customer service

Can someone from DC Power Contact ME!!!!
I think this is funny. Lots of this in this thread and a lot of excuses. But i just want to point out, one piece, of what happened in this thread. Actually, with the continually poor customer service DC power gives. I want to show this so that we see exactly when he ordered it. I don't believe that DC power told him he would need to wait 2 years+ for his alts+brackets in the first place. Cool, i am glad they are finally finished after TWO YEARS but i am sure the OP would've appreciated knowing it would take this long. Oh so tomorrow is...March 20th 2011? Nope! Tomorrow or AKA the shipping date is now March 21-22nd 2011! Nice! Lol. So it's still not even shipped...

Steve Meade's Clipping Tool
Yeah and i didn't even really think about it. I have been using an oscope from my buddy but this seems a lot easier and maybe more efficient! Oh! That's me! Except i make 7.36! But i know what your saying, i think I would invest into one of these things. Really cool tool. Seriously! Me too! But i just hate when people assume and i was just trying to explain i am not SMD crazy lol!

Ohio Generator?
I have talked to them through email and phone. They always seemed to get back to me very quick. I have yet to hear something bad about them. Good luck and for sure let us know what goes down!

And I thought AQ would be good
So did you get it all figured out? I wouldn't yell at Shizz, he told you to not turn it up very loud and to make sure you started at 1 and slowly went up. You probably got it playing loud and kept turning it up. But anyways, it sounds like you figured it out, that's good at least

Steve Meade's Clipping Tool
Now, I don't stalk Steve's videos but i was just looking at one of his videos that he posted up and he explains how his "Clipping Tool" works just like a oscope. I was wondering what you guys thought about this? Personally, i think it's a really cool tool and a great idea. But at the same time i feel like it's Steve Meade just trying to get his name out again and to make more money. Just another ploy really, but it is a valuable tool it seems like. What do you guys think? EDIT: added video

double/triple layering
Lol okay man. For sure. I just was asking

double/triple layering
So what do you think about the whole layering situation, MDF inside with fiberglass, MDF inside without fiberglass, or double stack grade (?) plywood?
-
double/triple layering
That's a good point. We built big so that we had the option to cut down instead of being screwed. I have 17 cubes that i need to get to 14. The only question i have is, how do a calculate how much space that L is going to take? I am using the Torres Box Tuning calculator and i don't really know how to calculate it

Broken case on 250XP. New Design in the works?
Thank you, x3, for the update

double/triple layering
Really? Do you think it would just make it weaker and not worth while? I'd double up all around. Oh really? So with the MDF double layer it, do you agree with stefanhinote on fiberglass? Not that i don't trust him in the least bit but it's nice to see both sides of something. P.S. Me and my build "buddy" talked about doing an L and he says he knows exactly how to do it and has done it so it won't be a problem. Problem solved...?

double/triple layering
Well i thought i knew what i was doing at the time. My box actually has a pretty good foundation though Yeah i know but i was GUARANTEED that the plywood, if braced right, wouldn't move an inch. Evmeden though i tried explaining to him that he doesn't quite understand that my subs were being underpowered and the box will flex. But he wouldn't listen so i kinda wanted to do it his way so he could see that he was wrong. But now i realize that now i just will have a shitty box. EDIT: We still did plan though, just not correctly. Just half an inch Hey man there's a first time for everything I'm not ragging on ya. Hopefully you can get everything in order and make it work. Lol yeah for sure bro. Yeah i understand, i just feel super bummed that i did this wrong. I wanted to do it right the first time and i thought i was going to but now i see that i messed up kinda big time. Dang man. Just super bummed. EDIT: Do you think that i should use fiberglass with the inside layer of MDF or just use MDF and bracing?

I guess i understand that and i know how it's done i just don't know if i have room to do it and i am not sure if it can work with a removable port... Yeah yeah. Well we planned a port and we assumed that we had enough space. I apologize for not having everything exact going into this. This is my first box/wall build ever, so i am learning as i go. Why does it have to be MDF? What difference does that make rather then using plywood? I know plywood is more flexible but that's about it. Also, with the port, we made it interchangeable so that way once we mess up the port we can build another one. Because i knew i was going to mess it up some how. I have been asking people questions about what i need and this and that i could never really get a solid response so i just went for it

double/triple layering
Can you just not use it? It is really a bad material for a box. You should switch to just mdf. The only thing is i have already put the box into my car and there is pretty much no way to pull it out with breaking it down. I wouldn't have a problem with that normally but we have put a lot of work into it and i know my build partner doesn't have enough time to start over given his schedule Going to have to bend it. Before doing anything else I'd recommend posting everything you plan to do up here as it seems like there are some issues. What do you mean bend it? The thing i plan to do is to double layer it with i guess MDF now, then add bracing on top of that to hold the box together, then fiberglass. Also making another removable port for my box and tune it down to 32. With the layering and bracing, i will be sitting at 14 cubes. Right now though, i am sitting at 17

Sorry for the double post! But!! I am having some trouble with my port. I was told to watch my port area because that would make a huge difference and help so that there would be no port noise. Now, tomorrow or maybe tonight if i can find the paper, i will give you what i have in terms of room and will let you know what area i have to work with. But i believe the big problem is to keep the length low, i think i only have 12 inches to work with. Not exactly remembering what it was

2 SSA prototypes with a power handling of 4,000 RMS pushed by 2 AQX3500's, 270xp DC power alt, and then as of right now one 1800 but soon to be 2-3 3100's XS batteries

double/triple layering
Alright, so the verdict is that it's Grade B plywood. Worth double stacking it on the inside or no? EDIT: And what about fiberglass? Still think it's overkill or no?

Broken case on 250XP. New Design in the works?
So now what? Are you going to contact us back or are we in the dark about whats going to happen next? I'm glad you got it but it doesn't help anything

double/triple layering
Oh okay. Yeah sorry i meant void free. So even though the MDF will be weakened by using the fiberglass you recommend lining the inside with MDF and then using fiberglass? Or are you saying don't use fiberglass and just line the inside with MDF? I honestly wish i knew how much the plywood we bought was or what is was actually. I will ask my build partner and ask him what we got because i know he would know. So if we did buy a higher quality of plywood, it would be ideal to double layer it and add fiberglass?

double/triple layering
So fiberglass doesn't help with strength at all? Yeah honestly i don't think i am using VIOD free plywood. At all. I may be very well be using "crap" plywood at home depot. Because this maybe a HUGE problem, what do you recommend on buying for the inside? To help with bracing and layering? What exactly is the good kind of plywood other then VOID?
