I don't have pics or videos, but the easiest way to make a false floor is to start by making a template out of cardboard or poster boards. Once you have the layout built, transfer that over to a sheet of MDF. Lay the template on a sheet of MDF, trace the template, then cut out the shape.
X2. That's how almost everyone does it

Hey also, to deviate a little bit from the current subject. I was wondering if any one else in the Arizona (or anywhere i guess lol) SSA team would like to go to the Scottsdale pavilions with me this Saturday? That's where i met clay and there is always at least some other people with systems there. Plus this would be a good way to get our name out, meet each other, EAT!, and just be chill.
Let me know if your in! This calls for a convoy into it, or at least someone to save everyone else spots lol!
Also an FYI, for those of you who don't know about it, this happens every Saturday. I will post up a link, again this would be really good exposure!
No, this is not just for "Rock n' roll classic cars." There are HUGE trucks, corvettes, jeeps, ricers, imports, motorcycles, custom cars, etc. etc. So don't think this isn't for us!

Why don't you just meet there, seems easier?Haha good points! But i was just thinking even like meeting every saturday night and hang out with each other. Also, sometime soon, we should ride out to the scottsdale pavillions and rep SSA there! Also, so we all want to drive to the MECA thing together? It would be easier. Just would be hella legit if our whole team rolled in together, IMO
I used to go to the pavilions quite often and do demo's after hours. was a good time.Haha good points! But i was just thinking even like meeting every saturday night and hang out with each other. Also, sometime soon, we should ride out to the scottsdale pavillions and rep SSA there! Also, so we all want to drive to the MECA thing together?Hey man, let me know when you go down there! I work on the weekends but every now and again i get it off!
When i said "awkward" it wasnt meant in the form of sexual awkwardness, it was meant that sometimes people just dont click well for whatever reason, and well no one talks or if someone does they might be annoying, or not what someone else wants to hear. So if someone feels that way, or something out of the normal, (ie. people are talking and getting along) Than they can be like well guys i am going over here and get away from what they might not be liking, or even be like hey i gotta run home "wife" said we have something to do. Makes for an easy way to skate out. Trust me i have been to plenty of new meet and greets, and it is not always peaches and cream!! Things happen, not everyone will be friends, and not everyone is outgoing and will want to tell there life story to someone they just met. So on that long note, i am down for meeting, but i will have to recheck my schedule, i think i just booked something for the same day. But would rather go to this!!
Yeah i knew exactly what you meant. I know that not everyone will enjoy each other but i would be cool if i could finally meet another SSA team member other then Clay. Not that i don't like him, i just don't know who else we have and i haven't heard your guys bangin systems yet!

Talked to you today bud, I've been on the phone non stop for the past two days. We will have a new phone system in 3 weeks and will be able to have 15 people in a queue until someone answers.. between call after call, shipping, and SEMA coming up in a few weeks it's been hectic. I'm not trying to ignore anyone.. I've just been swamped with calls.
Just again goes to show that they are about customer service and that they are there to help. Taking time to make sure questions are answered. My 250xp recently broke also, i called it in and they told me that they are getting new casing and that they would also upgrade me back to a 270xp for free. I am very pleased with the customer service they put in and how dedicated they are to fixing problems. 5 stars in my book DC power!

Hey another question for you. I talked to Kyle and he is gonna hook me up with the new improvements once they come in. But, if i am hearing belt squealing, i tighten the belt, correct?? I know it sounds REALLY stupid but i was talking to other people and they said to loosen it. So today, when putting my stock alternator i tested it. Loosing obviously made the belt squeal due to the lack of tension and grip. So i am wondering, is it different with the DC alt? I wouldn't THINK so but i don't know why people are telling me to loosen it. To late now obviously lol

Alright. I do have to admit, i am REALLY surprised so many people are down for this. I was thinking we should do a small get together during the week and then sometime for before the meet to make sure we know each other and just hang out, not to blast woofers but to chill and be comfortable at the meet with each other. As weird as that sounds...
Anyone have suggestions for a meet spot?
-
Hey guys, i was wondering if anyone would be interested in having a meet. Yes this would be for people in Arizona because I'm sure you don't want to drive all the way down from california or where ever. Anyways, I wanted to get a grasp on what attention and interest people would have in doing this. If enough people want to, we could totally organize something and get together. Let me know what you guys think!

Very interesting technique with bolting the box down so that it becomes part of the car. Never really heard that reason behind it..... Hmmmmmm. Let us know how it turns out! And please share all the tips from your gf's dad with us, not all of us talk to engineers everyday lol.
Well yes, one for saftey reasons. Another is so that the box is shaking with the car. Instead of the box shaking in the car. If that kinda makes sense? And i don't know if i should share because some of these tips might put me on top
haha!Lookin good man. I am an ECT student at DeVry and one of my professors actually used to work for Crown Amps FTW. It's nice to have someone with that kind of knowledge to share ideas with. Keep up the good work, in for vids.
That's pretty cool dude! Yeah i know what you mean! He has so much information! Thanks!
For safety reasons and extra support, I would hate to have a wall flying at me during an accident. just my .02Very interesting technique with bolting the box down so that it becomes part of the car. Looking good so far, keep up the good work. Blue Dawn works wonders for all kinds of stuff.
Thanks man. Haha yeah it does right?
Looks cool
Not feeling the front stage, though
Thanks for being honest. I plan on putting a amp to power the front stage. Also i will be making custom doors to hold the speakers and i will be adding tweeters. It's a step by step process so i hope you don't think that i am done

Looking good, I wanna do a wall so bad just dont have the guts yet. Thanks for the heads up on cleaning carpet, that will save me some bills in the long run on.

Haha it's the obsession that drove me to it. I don't really think about how much my car is getting torn up. I think of it as a upgrade haha. Yeah for sure man! Glad i could help!
Thanks for the carpet cleaning tips...

Haha, no problem!
Fine, please post pics and phone number of girlfriend. lolBlue dawn huh, turned out nice Bro.
Haha funny guy! Yeah just blue dawn man, and a vacuum really. Plus water... haha 3 things then.

And thanks for the compliments! Sorry i thought i added that in the last post, but I'm pretty sure it would be overkill if i quoted everyone who said good job and said thanks. I will if you want though lol. But if you guys see anything that you think needs to be done or have anything that i might be doing, say something! This is my first build and I don't know everything. Even if you have ideas about something I'm doing. I honestly appreciate constructive criticism!

Awesome work bro ... I'm really diggin the metal brackets and securing (bolting) the enclosure to the vehicle ...
Thanks man! We were really struggling coming up with an idea of how we can get this box to be "a part of the car." The idea behind this is that the box will shake with the car instead of just rattling/shaking in the car. This will help reduce a lot of rattles and help generate the feel that it's loud haha. Originally we were gonna come from the bottom of the car and go through but lots of trouble there. But these are super secure and they look super nice!
Looking good!!!
Is that Dad giving you a hand??Haha well actually it's my girl friends dad. My dad doesn't really like car audio (even though he was super into it as a kid) he focused more on SQ instead of SPL. Then my girlfriends dad loves car audio and big bass. He is also an aerospace engineer which amazingly helps a lot with car audio and how things are built. His work deals with airplanes obviously but also making sure that nothing vibrates in airplanes. He also it's really in the know with electrical stuff and how it works. It's just cool because he brings a lot of fresh new ideas that most people haven't really thought of before. I got some REALLY cool surprises coming out, i almost don't want to show them lol.
The build looks good so far! I am tuned in.
What year is that car? Did everything in the DC Power kit fit? It's a 1997 Honda Accord Special Edition (ohh lol, not really) Yeah, the cool thing is that my friend saw a posting on SMD selling this alt. The guy who had it before me had the EXACT same car as me (besides the color) and sent it in because he originally had a 270xp but it was running so hard it had to get tuned down. So i got the 250xp with a custom build bracket for about 350. Super deal!
Let me borrow your garage mang!Lookin good..
Haha not even my garage! I wish it was!
Umm... I need to know, how the F did you get that carpet that clean man!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Looks nice, Keep those pics coming.
I agree, what did you use to clean the carpet?Ask my girlfriend, i asked her if she would clean it and she did. I'm pretty sure she used blue dawn (yes the color DOES matter and is used in lots of cleaning stuff) then used a combination of vacuum and water along with that. I didn't see her do it but I'm pretty sure that's how she did it because that's what we did when we cleaned her jeep

Amp Rack/ False Floor
in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
For heat dissipation and cooling =
What you could do, but which would take a bit of work. Put in the false floor and amp rack. Carpet over all of it make it look "pretty." Then get small squares of 2x4's and screw them in to where your amp would normally screw in to the amp rack. So this way, you are actually raising up the amp and putting more space between the amp rack and the amp itself.
I hope that's not too confusing...
