Belt Shredding Monster
Sounds to me that under load the alternator is slipping on your belt. Do you hear a shrieking noise? You could add an idler pulley to your alternator hinge bolt like I did. This greatly increased belt wrap.

I haven't powered it yet. I need to weld my amp mount. I am planning on having it playing by Sunday. Sooo ummm.... PM me when it's all done... I'd be willing to come listen.... and steal your left over equipment...lol I got you in mind! We have been discussing a meet up for a while now. I was planning on competing in MECA SQ this year. Unfortunately there are only two events scheduled in PA and they are over four hours away MECA is dead on the East coast. When is it? If you were planning to go and I was able, I'd ride with you there.... Keep you companies ya know They are on June 2 and August 8. We will have to check out other organizations as well. I hope the north east is completely dead...

Thanks man. I do not have the amp mount completed yet so I have not powered it up yet. Trust me I can not wait to hear these IB315's! The trunk does have the typical vent. Based on Vas and Qts of the IB315's and my trunk size these subs should work well.

I finished mounting the baffle. I made a brace out of 3/16" steel. It is welded to the car on the bottom and on the top. The reason for the brace is mostly because I wanted to use a single layer baffle instead of multiple layers which can really add up in weight. With the brace I made and the other attachment points is should be sturdy. I made a little trim panel for around the subs to make them look flush mounted. Up next is the amp rack for my Sundown 1500 v.3

2009 Malibu Build (2 B2 Audio CC 12")
I was wondering what was going on with this. I dont see how you are going to fit two 15" in there without building the enclosure in the trunk. You could run those SP4's sealed as well. That would be easier. Have you considered and external aero ports if you go ported? Possibly a ported enclosure might spec out on the small sized tuned in the mid 30's to keep port length down. I have used an aero port setup where half the port was internal half external. I have also used 90 degree elbows on aero ports which helped for the install and there is alot of length in an elbow.

I agree. They have some badass mother boards

Ready to pull my hair out
You could be 10db higher/lower with the exact same setup in two different vehicles. The difference is cabin gain. Different car, amp, subs and enclosure all add up.

I did buy a computer, a laptop. I bought a Vizio CT15-A5. Here are the secs on it: Screen Size 15.6 inchesMax Screen Resolution 1920x1080 pixelsProcessor 2.3 GHz Core i7-3517URAM 4 GB DDR3Hard Drive 256 GB SSDGraphics Coprocessor Intel HD 4000Wireless Type 802.11nNumber of USB 3.0 Ports 2 Other Technical DetailsBrand Name Vizio Series Thin + Light Item model number CT15-A5 Hardware Platform PCOperating SystemWindows 8 Item Weight3.9 poundsItem Dimensions L x W x H 14.92 x 9.90 x 0.68 inchesProcessor Brand Intel Flash Memory Size 256 Hard Drive Interface Solid State I am very pleased with my purchase. I could do without Windows 8 though. Also the battery life is short but other than that it is a wonderful laptop. My other choice was a Dell XPS 13 and that was almost $1000 more (I paid a little under $1000 for mine) comparability featured but with a low resolution 13" screen versus this high resolution 15" screen. I was hesitant to buy a Vizio laptop, after all they aren't exactly know for laptops. After owning this one for over a month I highly recommend it to anybody looking for an ultrabook.

Gotcha. I am the final inspector for a company that makes jet turbine parts - cases and liners.

I agree! Thanks for the dust cap mounting tips. I just picked up 3/16" steel for the bracing. If I am lucky this weekend I will be able to get most of it done.

What is wrong with using zip ties? I thought about use pods for my mid and tweets too. I even went out and bought the foam balls. Possibly defraction can be tamed easy this way but I could not mount them in my vehicle in an aesthetically pleasing way. I am anxious to see how yours turn out.

Finding an Fi Sub for me.
The Q has quiet a bit more xmax which maybe be beneficial. The recommended enclosure sizes are just a hair smaller for the Q. The Q is also built to order and you can customize it to your liking.

Like I normally do I changed things up again. I am sticking with the KS900.6 for the front stage and I am not going to use an additional battery in the trunk. There isn't a need for it. I am just getting started on the IB install. I have the baffle cut and positioned in place. I need to, make a trim panel, weld bracing and then carpet. The subs are mounted facing the trunk. There is no loss of trunk space at all. The magnets are within an 1/8" of the back of the back seat Hopefully I will have the IB install complete very soon and I can work on the amp mount.
