  1. Why would the alternator cause fuses to blow during audio playback?
  2. I think you are going to like those Quarts. When you are done you should have a really nice sounding setup!
  3. I am going to have to guess that the tweeters are not at fault here. Looks like a component in the signal path on the right side has a bad thingy lol. Is there a "pop" noise when the system is turned on that could be blowing your tweets?

Sure one 15" plus 4-6 more
  5. Since you want to buy a box your best bang for the buck will be a JL Audio Stealthbox. It comes with either a 12w3 or 10w3. I would get the 12w3. It will sound great and fit your goals.
  6. That pic gives me vertigo
  7. Good thread. Saves some folks some time by reading everybody elses problems and tips
  8. I am using an AudioControl DQSX so I can set the xover points and slopes to whatever I want. I will let you know how it sounds!
  9. That sub is perty Pound that sound man!
  10. I haven't measured volume yet. I want .5^ft net. My guess is it is around .75-1^ft as is. The port diameter is 2". My tuning freq will be 65hz. That will give me a port length of 3.54". The only negative with ported midbass is that if a hpf setting at 60hz does not blend well with the sub bass system I am kinda screwed. A longer port length (to lower tuning) willl not be optimal based on my available enclosure pod depth.
  11. X2 Great work. Your dedication and attention to detail is paying off. Thanks for checking in Still hours and hours to go...eh....
  12. The DMP1 looks pretty sweet. It is nice to have options
  13. When buying a refurb, I don't think they give specifics, but a call to them could explain all. They are very helpfull. This was the responce about my repair: "It had the standard problems, loose output inductor broke legs on a transistor next to it, hUvoltage regulator filter caps had bad solder joints and 15V+ voltage regulator was bad because of it. All fixed up and everything siliconed in place now, way better than it was new." Wow, almost sounds like the build quality was poor to begin with. lol HARSH!!! Just wanted to give an example of what the responce was about the repair. I thought we were talking about Dbr's refurbs... Guess I opened a can of worms. I apologize if my comment wasnt worded properly. My comment was referring to the faulty components in your repaired Sundown amplifier. The "loose output..." and "bad solder joints" could have been factory defects or common issues from misuse or just normal wear over an extended period of use.

  15. The vehicles frame may not be as efficient as a ground wire from battery to battery.
  16. Look'n real good brah!

Did you get your SA-15's yet? I saw Jacob squeezed over 32mm xmax one-way on the SA-15 v.2 proto
  18. Just about any 15" subwoofer will play loud (relatively loud...130's) and low and sound good if installed correctly. Based on my experiences I would run two 12" over a single 15". I currently have a single 15" XCON. I am switching over to two Sundown Z 12" If you are absolutley stuck on buying a XCON 15" then hit me up. I will sell you mine dirt cheap.
  19. I have a Crescendo 3kwp and a 1000c4. I have not owned their new BC amps but I am sure that they are great. +1 for Crescendo.
  20. Here is the pod as is now. Still need to do some work to it before I can begin covering it with vinyl.
  21. Thank you keddy. There are some excellent build logs here. Check them out!
  22. Mmm Treo SSX mmmm...
