  1. You can build the chassis however you see fit. I don't know much about off-roading, so you'd be better served asking elsewhere for that. Stock for stock, and maybe slightly built the 2V has more torque than the 4V, but only down low. This will be negated once you add gears and boost. 6-800 should be easily attainable with boost and reliable as well. I can't comment on the crank, but many have used the cast crank at 600HP; I personally would not, but you are welcome to do whatever. The Lightning and Shelby cranks easily handle 800HP, but I think they are a bit more than $600. Hell, the Cobra cranks were around a grand last time I looked. Stock radiator should be adequate, while larger and or upgraded coolers are always a good idea.
  2. I'm not too keen on MMR either, but they work and are priced fairly and have many payment options.
  3. MMR You're going to want forged internals for everything. If you are not on a budget, get the Trick Flow heads. Talk to Nick McKinney at the Modular head shop. He REALLY knows the valvetrain on the mods. Probably the bext out there. If you really want to get nutty, get a Navigator and do the DOHC swap and boost that. PErsonally, I think you're throwing money away, but it's your money, so if you want to blow it.. . . . . . . I would build the chassis and brakes first, then the drivetrain and the motor and boost would be last on the list.
  4. I actually want a Dobe, but they are out of my budget.
  5. I got 4 hours sleep last night. Woke up and went right to work on Lincoln number 3. Worked on it all day, showered, cooked dinner, called my son, cut my hair, showered again, and tried to relax. I could not relax, so I got up and started a bunch of laundry and cleaning. Finally got a bit tired. Laid down, and bam, wide fucking awake. Finally started to drift off and I hear some banging downstairs. I grab the flashlight and run downstairs and don't see anything, so I go back upstairs, shut my music off and just lie there and listen. 10 minutes later I hear the noises again, so I creep downstairs again sans flashlight. Again, the noise stops. I have come to the conclusion there is a rodent in my basement somewhere. I searched outside and found a broken basement window and part of the glass lying on the ground, so that is the point of entry. Motherfucker.
  6. I'm getting sick of sitting around waiting for people to come get parts. Be here when you tell me you will be here. It's a pretty simple concept.
  7. Thank you.
  8. ANd since I keep forgetting, Congratulations on the new job Seth! Post a pic of the shop if you can. No more brown sugar though huh?
  9. My BIL hasn't spent that on his Ford in the 7 years and 150k miles he's driven it. Not even close. I can introduce him to many people around here who have. Interesting, I can introduce you to tons that haven't. Pretty much his whole "neighborhood".His truck leads a hard life too. He doesn't ever drive it anywhere unless there is a cattle trailer or the like behind it. I wonder if there is a difference in how to drive a diesel vs how to drive a gas engine... /sarcasm I read several posts last night on the Lincoln board from a member who stated Flowmasters work best on pushrod motors and do not belong on OHC engines because OHC engines flow more air than any other type of engine. He also claimed he's built hundreds of "race engines" for Mustangs and he's only 20 years old.
  10. I agree with you, but I'd like to know why you posted them being clamped if you find it a pointless test?
  11. Well that's your opinion and you are entitled to it so if you have any more questions feel free to ask. One thing about us you will find out we aren't here to deceive or lie to make a sale of amplifier. We are used to all the doubt as we have been through this for the past year. He's not stating you're out to lie, cheat,or do a disservice to the customer. He is stating a FACT that the testing methods are not a valid comparison to the measuring practices used by the factory, and even then we're assuming the factory is measuring them Properly as well. We're not trying to be hard on you, we are simply trying to convey that the member base here knows better than to put validity in clamp tests and other "simple" methods. IT's not an opinion, it is a FACT. Others may use it, and there is a certain group of people who do think because Bob and Jim use it in their youtube videos that it must be the way it's done.
  12. I agree, but alas, no money. Hell, I still have to get the Gcon in something.
  13. You're the only one worth buying from. At least you are offering something worth buying and not just throwing shit together. We can also ask you questions and you know WTF you're talking about.
  14. Hey Neal..... It's patience. LOL!
  15. Keep the pictures coming man. While I would never own an insect or reptile, and am not really a fan of holding them, they still fascinate me, and are cool to see. J I wasn't too keen on my son's tarantula at first, but it's actually a very beautiful creature. He's still a bit skiddish though and does not like being handled.
  16. It's not a Charger. You can't treat it like the General Lee.
  17. MY point is you are pricing an unknown. We have nothing to go by other than a few specs and some pictures of a prototype. You walk into a car dealership and the salesman tells you, "Come look at this brochure of this new model we have coming out. You can get it for $15000 if you preorder right now. It's red, has a 4 cylinder engine, and gets okay gas mileage, but we don't really know for sure because we've only tested the prototype, but we're pretty sure and can give you all the specs once we have your car." I'm sure you realize this is a tough sell. As I stated before, you have to understand the skepticism. We have little to no information, not even photos of each individual driver, nothing. You literally showed up one the storefront and forum in one fell swoop, with no information. This is the age of information. I'm a prospective buyer. I see your company and your product, but there's no info about your product. The photos are all of the same driver (a prototype obviously) taken on a wooden bench next a Mountain Dew bottle and you want $300+ dollars. Why should I take that risk? I can make two more clicks and purchase a well know driver from a well known company for the same price and know exactly what I am getting without risking my hard-earned money.
  18. So are you stating you can't provide specs until you receive all the drivers or until you get prototypes in? I am confused. You can understand the skepticism. Personally, I think the drivers are extremely over-priced, especially given these are pre-order prices, but all we are given is a few pictures (and not even of the final version) and a bit of specs.
  19. I'm only sitting still and not playing a game because I am so amped to have a chair, and enjoying SSA company and shopping for dream engines.I'm starting to think I need either a forged block with GT headers 4 turbo's or to scrap it all and get a modified deisel. 2k ft/lbs sounds reasonable right? They make truck spec headers. Build the shortblock, put a blower on it and be done with it.
  20. The stock block will easily handle 1000+HP. The rotating assembly is the issue and really will only need to upgrade if you want to boost or rev the shit out of it.
  21. You guys and your computer and camera talk. I understand nothing.
  22. Post it in the classifieds section.
  23. Good deal on clamps. http://www.ptreeusa.com/edirect_070913.htm
