. Deep cycle will only help for severe discharge and recharge. That's not an issue here. You need more current capacity and reserve capacity. The only real way yo get there is another and/or larger battery. The S197s simply don't have much room underhood. There is a chance a different battery may work, but it will only be marginally better.

You won't he able to fit a larger battery in the stock location. Your best bet us an auxiliary battery in the trunk or move the main battery back there, but replace it with a larger battery.

So the old man got an '02 Town Car in today. I might trade him my truck for it. IT needs intake work, but that's a bit simpler than replacing an engine and I wanted a Town Car for a daily driver anyways, so this may work out well.

SO last weekend we had no luck catching crickets, so I went to the bait shop down the street and bought some. Harry has been tearing them up. Everything I've read suggests feeding them 2-3 per week, but he's been eating one a day. Pretty wicked to watch him feed.
