  1. Why do you feel you need an 18 and that much power?
  2. I stopped paying attention to people around work several years ago. Nobody is ever happy.

    HAppy Berfday!
  4. Start small, then upgrade as you go. While I like to do everything at once, you don't always need a higher output alt. Since you're new to car audio, why do you think you need an 18" woofer and 5KW? Is it because other people you know do? Think about it.
  5. Another case is the picketers. We have construction going on across from one of my stores. The local union is out there picketing as the main contractor is non-union. Now there are 5-10 guys out there at a time getting paid money to hold up a sign bitching about non-union work, while there are thousands of people out of work who would jump at the opportunity to work on that site.
  6. I am not a fan of the Unions. I was an IBEW member for 6 years. During those 6 years, I watched new people come in and bust their ass for 3 months to get into the union. Once in, they turned to shit. They did what they needed to do to keep their job and nothing more. The good productive worked quickly turned into the dragging anchor. I saw this too many times. They also didn't honor several parts of my contract and while I could have sued them, it just wasn't worth the effort. I was also screwed by them causing me to lose my job. I was sick for several months. I had all my medical papers, doctor's notes, etc. They were presented in a timely manner to my supervisor, but guess what, he never turned them in to HR, so guess who lost their job. WHen I presented all this at the grievance meeting the supervisor denied that I ever gave him any paper work. HE did this because we once got into a massive argument and he disliked me since then, so he was out to get me. I was young and not wise enough to have him sign the paperwork. Needless to say, it was a lesson for me, but has left a bad taste in my mouth for unions.
  7. You just don't get it do you? The guy has had several questionable past dealings and it still continues today. This is his chance, his time to correct them all. This forum is used to help people in these situations and prevent further issues with other people. Would you not want to know any of these types of issues if you were spending your hard earned money with someone? Would you not want resolution and want it in a timely manner if YOU were the one who got a raw deal?
  8. Too noisy to sleep.
  9. I don't know the specs, but I'm guessing both 1500s are 1500 watt amps and the 1000 is a 1000 watt amp. If this is the case, you will not notice an audible difference in power between them, so no need to change unless you like one over the other for whatever the reason. As for constant power, I don't really know what you mean as an amp never puts out "constant" power with music, hell it's not even constant with sign waves, but close enough. IF you are talking about RMS, peak, or maximum, don't pay any attention to peak or maximum.
  10. I agree 100%. Then Kevin can get my amplifier back (the one he sold to the OP), have it repaired and then send me my amplifier that I had purchased on eBay. Then he'd prove he is an ethical business man. Dude, you got your money back; leave it at that. Do you really want this amp that bad that you are willing to risk another bad deal? Think about it. Right now, you are out nothing.
  11. You won't notice a difference between any of the amps, so the only reason to upgrade would be aesthetics.
  12. Here's what needs to happen. . . . Kevin, you have a questionable past you can NOT deny. This amp could have been blown before hand, and it could have been blown by the user. It doesn't matter. What you need to do is to eat it. Give the guy his money back and take the amp back. Don't use UPS for a claim. If you need to do that, refund his money first, then get the amp back and deal with UPS on your own accord. Don't make him wait on them. It sucks for you, but this is what you need to do to prove you're an ethical business man.
  13. I'm jealous....I just crawled into bed. Might have gotten 2 hours of sleep last night as my son wouldn't sleep unless I was carrying which made it impossible for me. Poor little guy...wore me out. Cherish those times with the little man. In 10 years you will look back on those times and wonder where the time went. I can't even hold Gavin for 5 seconds. He won't stay still long enough. I used to have to rock him to sleep every night, now he barely lets me hug him.
  14. There is a steel plate between the trunk and passenger compartment. The Europeans know how to build vehicles well and they don't skimp on shit like the Big 3, although the Big 3 have built some cars in a similar fashion. Your bass is essentially trapped in the trunk. You need a way to vent it into the cabin.
  15. Very lame, but that 2.5 can be made into one nasty beast.
  16. I didn't have Gavin tonight and had a ton of cooking and cleaning to do, so I busted out the old Daft Punk collection and went to town. I actually had myself a pretty good time. Only thing missing was a dance partner.
  17. DO you remember geometry class?
  18. That's a cool setup, but I hope you upgraded the tensioner or added a couple more as well.
  19. Everyone asleep?
  20. That site is still up? I thought that joke died 10 years ago.
  21. Fuck bass.
  22. Well, let me go back and post 90% of the posts from 75% of the people in this thread and you'll have a small start.
  23. YAY! You buy a new sled and the snow starts to go away. Go buy a couple more!
  24. HELL FUCKING YES!!! Sean, when it comes down to it, would you rather be on a sled or on the boat?
  25. No offense man, but you have no clue what you are doing. You don't have the proper wiring to support your needed power, let alone anything else. ALL batteries produce gases when charging, but only a sealed battery will retain this gas. Having the battery in the cabin without it being in a properly vented enclosure is just asking for trouble, especially if you smoke. I could go on, but I don't feel like wasting my time picking this apart since you've made it apparent that you are a know-it-all after the fact.
