Welcome to the IHoP
Is the install for the 880 related to the tile saw? *excited* That would be nice, but no. It's to replace the POS Alpine in the DD so I can have a decent tuner.

Ryan, I have to agree with you. A former boss offered me a job running the shop I used to work at. Couldn'd do it. I have to do something with my hands. As a matter of fact, a lot of my job now involves paperwork and computer work and I do as much as I can to not have to do any of it. I'd rather be knee deep fixing a sewer line that sitting behind a desk. A big check would be nice, but my source of satisfaction is to step back, look at something and go, "I did that."

possible barrier
How do you figure? Any time you can increase efficiency it's a win. There's energy being used to excite the mic instead of a vibrating panel. if you weren't worried about it, why on earth would you brace an enclosure?

Greatest Passenger Car Engine of last 25 Years
Bah, it was designed and engineered for racing only. You can't really call it reliable either. It's strictly made to last as long as it needs, no more, no less. If they need to use them for 6 races, that's what they build for, but the point of the thread was for passenger engines. Hell, run one of these in a passenger vehicle in the city and you'll be lucky if you can get an hour out of it. As for it's power, F1 engines are de-tuned to 750 at 2.4L so yeah. Realistically, they can all do what they want/need to do with them, so it's nothing short of spectacular for any of them, Indy or F1, or any other race engine for that matter.

Kappa VS Reference
Find them used or on Ebay or forums. The SS components have a FABULOUS tweet, as do the RS series from the early 90s.

Kappa VS Reference
Stick with Kicker and go with the SS line. They are great.

Hate the Supras BTW. Love the 300ZX and the 3000GT VR4s. Don't like the Stealths at all. too subtle.

Don't know that I'd be towing a boat with that thing, but they are nice. You want to talk about a quiet ride. . . . They made one in Europe with a small V8. I'd like to get my hands on one of them and throw it in an AWD 500. Same platform. . . Has a V8, another Ford/Yamaha amalgamation. 5000lb towing capacity to boot and with a 6/100k bumper to bumper your damn right I'll tow my boat with it NO shit? Last I knew they were Euro-spec only. I'd like to know how they got that thing stiff enough to tow that weigh. I don't think you'll have to worry too much about the warranty. Surprisingly, as expensive as they can be to repair, insurance is really cheap for them. In comparison to their other European (read German) counterparts, they are really a bargain in all aspects. I don't know if the XC90 has it, but all their cars have a waterfall type console/dash. IT's open behind and it really ties the dash into the rest of the car. I loved the interior of the C30s and S40/60s I drove last year. I still would like an S60R. The S40R that I reviewed for Momentum had that dash. Great little car that is often forgotten. They made an R version of the 40??!!!

Mine's 7 years old. Still compares to the newest shit out, aside from being dual core, so I'm not even going to bother. I would like something that is lighter though.

Look into an Aviator or Mountaineer. Both have full-time AWD and at least 290HP, depending on the year. And the Aviators came with the DOHC engine.

Good thing about the Pantera is several companies are now producing aftermarket canted valve heads. I have a new Mustang magazine and they did a stock rebuild on a 400M. In stock trim it dynoed at 200+ HP and 480lb.ft.. They switched heads and intake and made over 500Hp and over 550lb.ft. with just those alterations. You're no longer stuck with the stock 4V Cleveland heads. Hell, many people are making Clevors now. It's a Windsor block with the Cleveland (canted valve) heads.

Quick opiniated question
And an alternator can be swapped out just as easily. If you're going to do it, do it right.
