Where do you keep finding these cars? Seems like this happens every time you go look at one. You're just looking for that diamond in the rough, aren't you. Look for ladies that just went through a divorce. Local paper, trader mags, Craigslist, word-of-mouth, etc. . . Turns out the Rivi is actually a pretty nice ride. I don't think it needs head gaskets either, just an intake gasket. If I can get a tow dolly for a good price, I'm going to buy the car. Pics if you do! But it's kinda funny that the basis of you buying it isn't on the actual car, but the availability of a way to haul it. Haha. Speaking of gaskets and since you're a Ford person, do you know how easy/hard it is to replace exhaust gaskets on an explorer with the 4.0 SOHC? I think mine might be bad. They leak a little puff sound when they're cool, but when the engine heats up I imagine it expands the metal because the leak goes away. I really don't have the tools, lift, or garage to do it myself, just wondering how much labor I might expect from a shop. Wonder if I should just have them replace the manifold/pipe/catalytic converter while they're there as well. Already replaced cat-back exhaust. Hmm, my $50 job just turned into $600. I'm not spending more than $600 to get this car home, so the guy wants $400; I'm not paying more than $200 to get it home. As for the Explorer, I have no idea on the gasket. Ford uses a stainless gasket and they almost never fail, so unless you're had the manifolds off, I don't see why they'd be leaking.

You need to switch to Epoxy resin. No buzz, no smell, no BS.

Went and looked at a T-bird today that the guy told me was, "mint aside from the replaced doors which were the only spots of rust on the car." I guess those silver doors on a red car just distract your eyes from the other 13 holes throughout the vehicle. Looked at an Explorer last night that, "just needs a trans." I guess the white door on the side of the red vehicle with the smashed in fender and rocker panel doesn't need commented on. Just replace the trans in it's good as new. Going to look at a Rivi tonight that, "just needs a headgasket." At least this guy has told me all the issues with the car before I go to look at it.

Aside from a few people, I wouldn't mind seeing Cali disappear.

"V10 in a box" haha. Man, a V10 in that little-ish car is crazy. That's not even right. I hope they threw some ballast in the ass end of that.

I guess we need all the specifics.

What materials can they use? This is rather off the wall, but have you considered Bamboo? It's super light, super-strong, and should be able to take the weight of one man and an engine.

I'd find a hydro off a zero turn mower. Allows F-N-R and you get the extra maneuverability of the zero turn. Can't beat that. Speed and acceleration shouldn't be an issue. Don't know what you have to pull but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Hydrostatic drive off a tractor. Should be cheap, easily attainable and not too heavy. A belt will be your mechanical connection, so service is easy. Some are a simple as a couple pullies and a belt. Can't beat that for weight. What's the concern with the weight anyways?

Which sub should i buy?
I could, but I don't know what size fuse I should use.

Okay, I am lost. A CVT is a constantly variable transmission, so why the need for one transmission, then another? Are you driving more than one thing off the same engine and need to run one at a different speed? I don't know exactly what you are trying to accomplish here, but given the relatively small output of the engine, I'd just use a centrifugal clutch setup given you don't need to move more than 4-500 pounds.

Shit. Does it ever end?

I have a friend who has had a cancer every year of his life since age 2. They said he'd never live to 3 and he's just turned 32. He keeps getting cancer, then beats it, and it pops up somewhere else. I think once it comes out, it's only a matter of time before it spreads, whether cured or not. Most people who have had it before will get it again.

But did you cut its hair? What size fuse does it need?

Questions about SAZ-1500d & Electrical
It's not ridiculous, it's just not a necessity. Having an isolated power source for the audio system is ideal, no matter the circumstance, but again, not a necessity. If he wanted to go through the trouble to do so, he could reap the benefits, but it's probably not cost-effective for his goals.

Ford didn't make a 135 amp alt, it's actually 130 amp, but make sure you have the correct alt, as in '04 they used the small case 3G (115amp), and the 4G(130 amp), so you may not have the necessary current you need. The 4G will actually put out about 150 so if you do have that, you should be okay on your electrical side. My Taurus handled my BPX2200 no problem, along with 3 other amps, so you should be okay. I do suggest upping to the 200 just for safety's sake. The 200 amp Ford offerings are solid as a rock if you buy them from a reputable vendor. You can actually get an OEM Ford 200amp alt if you look hard enough. Quality Power Auto, is not well known by many, but they are very well known in the rebuilding world. High class products from a great company. Don't hesitate to use them! . . . . And you do not NEED a dual alt setup. While this is ideal, in all instances, it is not a necessity. Be leery of what people post on the internet, as the wealth of misinformation is greater that that of information.

Amp not puttin out full wattage?
It's just your ears. You can not hear a 2dB fluctuation anyways.

Get a program called MP3 gain and do it before you burn. It also removes the clipping.
