  1. Well, he's obviously a car guy so he should have known exactly what he was buying. Chalk that one up to stupidity. Let him know now, because I guarantee you when he finds out reality, he'll be far more upset.
  2. Check out the air suspension. I've had a couple of them and other than the suspension woes really love the cars. It needs a new compressor, but holds air and works well. Windshield is cracked and passenger side door handle is broken. The old man has 3 in the yard, and I have 2 engine/tranny combos from them and one only has 50K on it, so I have all the parts at my disposal for nothing.
  3. Might be picking up a Mark VIII on the cheap.
  4. HAPPY BERFDAY!
  5. Quoted because this needs to be seen again. and again I was actually thinking the same thing And why not one more time? How about it goes at the top of every page?
  6. Thats true, The guy thats gonna build a ported box for me said I dont need SSF its a "myth" lol.. and im not gonna take a risk of destroying my subs because my amp doesnt have SSF You don't need one. Amps were made for countless years without them and subwoofers survived. As long as you're not wailing on them too far below tuning, you shouldn't have a problem. I'd run without a subsonic any day with any drivers in any vented enclosure. I did it all throughout the 90s, and sometimes even today, and never hurt a driver. It is a useful tool, but not a necessity. That's a very good point (unless your me and running over double the rms of the driver) Yes, but someone of your knowledge would not be stupid enough to do this in a possible unloading situation.

  8. Memphis PRs can get stinking loud with ease. Both Memphis and Kicker make great products in every price range. I've never had a problem with anything from either manufacturer, so don't hesitate to stay mainstream if you want. There is a reason a lot of people have Kicker, JL, Pioneer, etc. . . They didn't get where they are today by producing crap.
  9. I don't, Kent does iirc. What do you need done? I have the capabilities to do it, just haven't done it. if I could get one of you guys to notch a stock F-body oil pan, that'd be spectacular I'd pay for shipping + whatever you'd want to have it done Cast aluminum is a pain to weld properly. Make sure whomever you have do it has much experience welding cast aluminum.
  10. fusion. by leaps and bounds. I would suggest go find a used car though if practicality matters. more bang for buck by far,. Can't find anything used that I want with decent enough miles to pay for. For the prices I'm finding used ones for, I might as well spend another 3K and get a new one. My big problem with the Fusion is the value. I want to be able to sell this thing in 3-4 years and recoup enough money to buy another Cobra.
  11. I've never had a problem running an amp with no load before, so I don't know where this is coming from.
  12. SHit. 2008 Civic Si---$21000. 2008 AWD Fusion---$21000 after discount. Fusion pros. AWD, good power, easy to mod, bigger vehicle, nice big trunk, leather and all the goodies, I'm a Ford freak. Fusion Cons. Too many on the road. Will never hold value. Civic pros. IT's a Honda, holds value extremely well, greater reliability in the long run, slightly better on fuel. Civic cons. It's a Honda, it's smaller, FWD. What do I do? I have yet to drive the Civic, so I don't even know if I'll like it. Anyone have any other suggestions in this price range? I'll have a $10K down payment, so I'll be looking to finance no more than $15K.
  13. That would be pointless in his truck, so I hope he's not.
  14. Regular old Argon. Same used for carbon steel. Only thing you need to change is the wire. You can weld Stainless with regular steel wire, but what's the point in that?
  15. Car shopping is a bitch!
  16. Eff OT. I work 6-2:30 or 7-3:30 with no weekends and that's it.
  17. Eff.
  18. The new Camaro is butt-ugly. I just read the latest issue of Automobile magazine (they had a big article on the M1 concept!) and they have a Challenger they've been flogging about the country and people kept asking them if it was the new Camaro.
  19. Another big thumbs up for mrray13! Thanks again Kent!
  20. Yeah, GM will NOT do a recall unless people are dying. They won't let you know about anything either until you finally take your car to the dealership. Luckily, I have some friends who are GM techs, so I get the DL beforehand.
  21. What year is it? GM is using circuit boards for the LED tailights and many of them are problematic. This was a huge issue on older Trail Blazers. Check with a dealer on yours, there may be a TSB on it.
  22. from Good JL subs to bostons.... sure that does make sense... lul YOu obviously don't know much about Boston.
  23. Oh to be young again. Let the boy bump. He'll learn eventually.
  24. CT scan tomorrow. I've been poked and prodded more in the past week than ever before in my life.
  25. Fuck me.
