  1. Can't wait to see the final pics.
  2. What is this "SPL" you speak of?
  3. Actually, RF had nothing to do with the actual driver side of the company, just the amps. The drivers were all previous Quart designs, just freshened up and re-marketed. That's courtesy of a CA&E review.
  4. Are these the models that have the heatsink very similar to that of Brax?
  5. What is the current application?
  6. Old bafoon! HBD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. Hmm.
  8. This thread is almost like the mini IHoP of SSA! Looking great!
  9. If it's in good condition, it's a steal. If not, forget it. I dropped $75 on mine, but it needed a re-cone anyways. I got a little more than a re-cone though.
  10. IEverytime ive seen a diesel truck they run at 12V when on and have 2 batteries. I guess you could check your voltage at your batt. Might be different for cars, i dont know. It really depends on the vehicle. I see 12 and 24 volt systems all the time. Some tractors will have both mixed together. They'll run everything but the accessories (lights, stereo, etc) on 24 volts.
  11. Less power. Efficieny increases and cone control decreases. You have a greater chance of reaching mechanical limits of the driver in the larger enclosure.
  12. I gues kinda be like JLaine. Maybe post an advertisement on Ca.com or something, but include a short note that YOU will decide exactly who you want to let buy. Just explain that you don't want someone buying something they don't really have a clue on and you will NOT be held responsible, therefore, you will screen potential buyers, OR go the PM route with people you prefer.
  13. The alternators actual output will depend on load as well. It will not always be putting out the highest amperage, just what it the demand is. Supa, your conlcusios about voltage cooking things is directly related to current. Ohm's law is a female dog. It takes two to tango. There is always the possibility. If the regulator goes out, it could full field the alt sending 17+ volts out and tear some stuff up. I've seen it happen, but most of the time, the damage is confined to the alt itself before it reaches the other components. Overcharging a battery can have disastrous results. As long as it's a quality alt, I don't see the need to worry.
  14. Agreed. I just had this discussion with my girl last week. Most people commit suicide when they are at a low point or feel like their life is nothing. I don't understand that. I'd be PISSED if I died right now. I really haven't accomplished a damn thing and if it ended right now, I'd be forgotten in a matter of hours. Dust in the wind.
  15. It will get hotter than any deadener will be able to withstand. If it's rattling, it's probably due to a broken weld. Best thing to do is to check and make sure it is secure on the muffler/tailpipe, wherever it is. If not, I'd suggest taking it somewhere and having it welded back securely or doing it yourself if it's feasible.
  16. ~30-40* off axis in door. I beleive that I have 3" of clearance. If not I can make 3" of clearance Morel MDT33s. Best pair of tweeters I have ever owned or heard. Rather expensive and large, but I have yet to find a better compliment to my ear that doesn't cost more than my ear.
  17. Likewise for Dbfan187!!! I just got through testing the amp today. Performs great, was packaged excellent and arrived looking better than described. Shipping was QUICK as well! Hard to tell from new!
  18. Where are you mounting? Any size constraints?
  19. Nice philosophy. I disagree. We are like parasites leaching off mother earth destroying everything in our path. Eventually, soon I fear, we will bleed her of her last drop and life will cease to exist. Or Mother Nature will finally take a last stand and wipe us out in whole. I don't think there will be future inhabitants to study our way of life. Other life forms possibly, but not of the "human" variety.
  20. I feel the opposite. I want it to look exatly like any typical sub. Undercoverpunk, You shouldn't have anything near the surround that should be scuffing it. I can safely say, I have yet to do this be it rubber or foam. **crosses fingers**
  21. The ball is coming in your direction. Get on your knees and be prepared. No more OT posts.
  22. 8" of snow in 3 hours and no plows on the road. Gotta love it.
  23. hmm..........sure goferit! whatever you like, it's cool with us. Funny guy. Want me to go into detail??
  24. Cost is pretty much it for me. Some associate the foam surround to "cheap" drivers or just a means to save money, but the foam IS cheaper, easier to tool, and can do anything the rubber can do, so why not?
