  1. Never heard any of those stories. I don't see how that could be true. It is water based, but even with that the dry time should be efficient enough to protect against that problem. Now, I could see if it was applied too thick there's a high liklihood that moisture could be trapped behind it, but it would still take years for them to "rust out." I don't see a chemical reaction enough to cause that either. Who knows.
  2. Not familiar with the Mazda, so I can't give you anymore help on that. I'd go with the 12s to be sure. Don't worry, they'll provide some output.
  3. Flakko will know whether that's true or not. His uncle owns USAmps.
  4. Depends on the amp. Does it sum 2 stereo inputs for 4 channel operation? Does it need discrete input? Does it sum stereo for F/R?
  5. Your ground is also very poor. You need a nice solid piece, then grind the paint off the metal before securing the grounds. Follow that up with some paint or silicone to protect against corrosion.
  6. Surely voltage drop. That or, no offense, your amp is a POS. I highly doubt you're getting anywhere near 2KW, but there is still a voltage drop present. It could even be a battery problem being as how you are running two batteries, which causes even more problems if they are not very close in age and of the same design. Add to the fact your alternator had to work even harder to charge 2 batteries instead of one, and you have bigger problems. What size is the cable connecting the 2 batteries? As for the cap, sell it, it won't help you a bit.
  7. Nice work so far! Can't wait to see the finished photos! You're going to LOVE the driver!
  8. I used some Spectrum on mine. They say you can't use it on plastic especially ABS, but I went through and scratched the surface up with 320 grit sandpaper followed by a nice through rubdown with denatured alcohol and brushed it on and it's held like glue. I was going to spray it, but we all know that maskign tape doesn't stick well to leather or plastic, so I just brushed it on. Was easier that way IMO.
  9. Right on! Need I say more?
  10. Welcome to the forum first off. How about soem specifics on the vehicle. Gievn your trunk is large enough and you take care of any possible cancellation issues, you can go with a 15. I'm sure you know, but it's all in the install.
  11. COuld either be a low voltage problem, or low impedance. MY guess is the latter, but I'm not truly sure how you have the setup wired? Are the subs dual 4 ohm coils wired in parallel on each channel, or do you have the amp bridged mono? If so, that amp will only be stable to a 4 ohm mono load which will necessitate a parallel/series wiring scheme. If it was a low voltage problem, I don't see why the other amp is not shutting off as well, so we can pretty much rule that out.
  12. Fudge.
  13. Some people's definition of an Exact cube is different. I also need to know where he wants the driver, the vent, terminal, ect. I'm not about to design a box then all of a sudden have to redo it because I didn't get all pertinent info. Duh.
  14. Very nice, but RESIZE!
  15. How bout a detailed description of how you want it, the vehicle it's going in, and any restrictions measurement wise. I can design evereything for you and provide you with a cut sheet, pretty much whatever you need. Just post the info here.
  16. Just an FYI, my buddy is running the old version 15" in his Camaro in 2.3 cubes and it's simply amazing.
  17. I saw it on SIN a couple days ago in the ADIRE forum. I got about halfway through it and was going to wave the BS flag, when I noticed the guys sarcastic reply at the end. Rather entertaining.
  18. MUSTANG!
  19. Eh, I did the work for you. http://electronics.search.ebay.com/dub_Con...opZ1QQsacatZ293
  20. You're gonna laugh at me, but do an Ebay search for the DUBMAGAUDIO (made by Audiobahn) amps. They have a 400 watt mono amp for about $55. I think it's more than worth the money to at least test it out.
  21. Goodnight all! Me have new speakers! Going to have good dreams tonight.
  22. I love it when you find an awesome deal on awesome drivers on the CHEAP!
  23. And hearing protection!
