  1. Man, I could go all over the place with this. I would really like to see something along the lines of a physically small, extremely fast switching all class D, or G, 1 solution amplifier. That would mean either 5 or 6 channels with the 5th or 5th and 6th dedicated to high power in a staggered configuration compared to the other two. I would also like a pure gain block as well, keep the processing left to processors. Don't know how cost effective that would be, but I know the technology is there and IMO, should be exploited by more manufacturers. What better way to bring the costs down? It could be more effecient and just as cheap as A/B if everyone were doing it.
  2. I don't think I can sell it now. I've fallen in love. It does everything I ask it to. I can play it quiet with nice sq. I'm just waiting for someone at a stoplight to role next to me blasting their sub then I'm going to let mine lose. It's like the sub adapts to every kind of music. Like it knows how to play rap and how to tighten up for kick drums in rock. I've turned it up loud enough to where my ears hurt afterwards, but I don't think I've maxed the sub out yet. Before I do this though I want to make sure my gains are set good. But really there's no need to play it any louder. I need to find a place with an oscilliscope or whatever it called. Hearing damage... a feeling I know all to well... What? HUH?
  3. No, no. That's the low power install. The stock 130 will be more than adequate. In fact, I don't know that I'll ever have enough power to necessitate a larger alt. I have some ideas for the beater, but obviously, no money. It would be nice to be able to help out some of the members here, but I don't have the experience yet.
  4. Congrats. How long before you figure out how to mod normal ones into high amp? No idea. I start on Monday. the good thing is, with my last job, I have some experience with AC and DC motors, so I should learn the ins and outs rather quickly.
  5. I know they had some limited stuff in the past. Just wondering if there are plans to expand into this side of the industry.
  6. Have fun!
  7. WHO?
  8. You have to change the quality of the video. Or find a host that will handle the large file. I don't think we can upload video directly to the site.
  9. I just got a job. Rebuilding alternators and starters. $10/hr. to start. Not bad for a temporary thing. Good benefits as well.
  10. Good luck Homie! The back door is tough to conquer.
  11. YO!

It may be expensive, but it will be just as solid as your other amp. Expect it to last another 10 years given you don't abuse it. On the other hand, it seems the "older" amps stand up to the abuse a bit better.
  13. Irony at it's best.
  14. Awesome news man! I will be in need of some amps within the next few months, so I'll be in contact. Good to support the forum members.
  15. Wait until you load them in an enclosure.
  16. ooo, details! X2!!! Check your PMs also.
  17. They're all controlled by the devil.
  18. 300 watts will surprise you. I actually thought it was rather stiff in comparison. I think you're on to something with the cone moving "faster."
  19. hella easier to tune that my horns and I like the top end better too. very crisp and detailed (which sux when I listen to mp3s). they blend really well, but I need an rta to make them sound perfect. vertical dispersion isn't great great, but I have a feeling my dash is blocking part of it. overall, if you get AC's, go with the higher lines. g2si's are very nice for the price, but they dont sound like theyre THE best a ribbon could be. the guy who I bought these from upgraded to the lcy's and he likes those a little bit more so I may either try lcy's or ac g3's in the future. The LCYs are BRIGHT! The top end is so detailed it hurts. It really is amazing what they can do compared to a "conventional" tweeter. I love the fact that they extend the midrange down low enough that you can pretty much cover the rest with a good midbass/range. As difficult as they are to implement into the automotive environment, they are more than worth the effort.
  20. thieves are stupid period. I was reading your story there and I thought you were gonna say that your rear window broke cuz of your solo's lol. sorry to hear that though. dude who I bought the solos from still has 2 BNIB left if you want. I paid $110 shipped. That's tempting, but the funds are limited right now. I'm trying to find a pair of 12s for around that price for the beater. Looking at Ebay for some new Comps. Shipping prices are nuts though. I have those v-max 12's still And I have about $30 in the bank. I'll hit you up when I have money though if you still have them. I thought they were sold locally? They were but the buyer backed out. If you split shipping we can call it even with the amp. Let me know if you want to do that. You have a PM.
  21. Here's my current baller status.
  22. That's the salesman coming out in him. If he thinks there's a potential for profit, he's going to exploit it. Tell him what you just wrote and see how reacts. That should be the determining factor.
  23. Let me know your impressions on the ACs.
