  1. http://www.alsacorp.com/paints.htm I've been doing a lot of research as of late for a custom finish for my claw. I actually just had it finished, but I think I am going to change it again after seeing what this company has to offer. REALLY slick stuff!
  2. HOw much power do you have on hand? Personally, I would go 2.5 cubes with 35-40 square inches of port area tuned between 35-38Hz. Start out with about 600 watts and increase until you feel safe without doing any damage. The driver will tell you when it's had too much. Don't want to damage it. Also, keep in mind I am a SQ freak and not too knowledgeable in the SPL department.

Brand freakin new too. I'm debating on whether or not to go back to TRUE old school, or New old school(Zed). I'm awaiting an email response on custom heatsink finishes from Steven.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...ssPageName=WDVW How many of you actually know what these are? I was lucky enough to see and hear one in my teens. FREAKING PIECE!
  5. RMS is the same as the previous models. Thermal it should handle quite a bit more, but for warranty reasons, I'm sure you can understand the conservative ratings. I really don't know anyone running them with less than the RMS and they are still going strong. I myself will be running 3-400watts as they simply do NOT need a lot of power. Xmax is spec'd at 24mm for the proto, so I doubt the final product will be any different.
  6. Denim, I see so many vehicles running them in the mags, but with their price, they are pretty much unreasonable for most of us. Dave Jennings has done well with them for SPL, but I doubt those are off-the-shelf GTIs. I'm just guessing here though. The driver was never designed or marketed as an SPL oriented driver so take that for what's it worth.
  7. I know I'm just one person and you do not know me, but I was so skeptical about the Magnum. In fact, I had pretty much made up my mind that all the hype was just that. I had ruled them out amongst every other driver I've had, and that list is long and true. Anyways, I took the plunge and got a couple. Needless to say, I am now a rep for SI and I just love the D2. All indications so far are that the new drivers pretty much blow the previous model out of the water. Good news indeed. Just thought I'd share my story. As for the IDmax, it's one driver I have always wanted to play with. Only thing really holding me back is the issues I have heard about with coil alignment, and ID's horrendous tunraround times.
  8. I know I was probably too rough on you, but I still luv ya man. It's all good. We both got a little heated, but oh well.
  9. NO prob!!!
  10. I have no experience with any of them personally, but I say JBL if you get the pricematch simply for the bang for buck.
  11. I used that stuff ONCE. Never again! It ate through my clearcoat. I'm not going to try that then. It may work well for you. The vehicle I used it on was older so that may have attributed to it, but that one bad experience was enough for me.
  12. Are those what I think they are?

  14. Kent, If I ever saw you on a scooter, I would knock you off. Sorry man, but that would just be so damn funny. I can't picture this big tough guy putting along on a scooter. HA HA Jim, I agree with you on the rain. I hate rain, but I LOVE thunder and lightning. Tornadoes suck! We're still cleaning 13 acres of downed trees from 2001. Clay bar is a dream. As for the bugs, well, WD-40 will work for some, but if they are stuck on pretty good, you HAVE to scrub. You can refer to the paint detailing post in the automotive section to see what I do. It's tedious, but it works. Congrats to all the grads!
  15. Adam, shoot me an email if you need anymore help. [email protected] 2 cubes vented is what Nick recommends and it works VERY well. YOu can play with the volume, tuning and port area to better suit your needs. What are your goals for the driver?
  16. You got it.
  17. Isn't that a given?
  18. WHen I talked to him last week, all he had left was the Q amps. Also, note the fact that he is out of the country on business right now.
  19. HAPPY BERFDAY!!!!!!
  20. LETS MAKE WORDS BIGGER, SINCE THE REST OF US CAN'T READ SO GOOD!!!!!!!!!! Tirefryr, I beg of you to stop whatever it is you are trying to prove here, and listen to what I have been trying to illustrate to you. It is WRONG of you to say that everyone else shares your viewpoint when they don't. That is it, thats all that I am arguing. You are really taking this to a whole other level, when it doesn't need to go there. I never said your opinion on any matter was right or wrong. In my previous post, I never said that I was right or you were wrong. I shared my opinion, and never claimed that everyone else believes the same thing. I don't know how many times I have to say it. The bottom line is that it is wrong of you to assume that everyone share's your viewpoint, don't claim that everyone is the same as you, because they aren't. Thank you Effendi! The context of your type, TO ME, was that you were questioning my feeling or opinion and not me trying to "push" it on others. That was NOT my intentions at all, but I can see how you would think that. I was trying to prove nothing other than that fact that my opinion is purely that. I went into it further to show you why I feel that way. That is the point in which it went south I believe because it seemed to me you were telling me why I could not feel that way. Point taken. Thank You! Great "DISCUSSION." HOWEVER HA. I think we can end this now.
