  1. Methane gas.
  2. I am a big fan of both the Ford anc Chevy police vehicles with the steel wheels. It just makes them look aggressive. I like it. I just don't think it would work well for the IMP. That particular vehicle is kinda like, "Hey, I look good and can give some things a whoop ass." The cop cars are like, "You don't wanna fu ck with me!"
  3. I wish my big boy would get here so you can play with that. Got to make a phone call.
  4. I was just giving my experience with them in the past. I would by no means rule them out. It was so long ago that I'm sure the problem(s) have been resolved. It's better off to keep the expenses down and the simplicity.
  5. Not true. A lower tune will broaden the response or flatten it avoiding the peaks most common around a certain tuning frequency. This is not always the case but most often. There are way too many variables and so many options to consider when designing a vented enclosure Damn, I could go a ton of places with this. Each enclosure is going to have a different peak in every vehicle or application. Each specific application is going to be different. Most people don't realize that there's a lot more to it than just building an enclosure and throwing it in the vehicle. The vehicles transfer function is going to be the largest determining factor on how the enclosure will perform. I'm gonna make this simple. Most music is not going to play the bottom octaves. Simply put. If you only need the driver to play a certain range, why tune it otherwise? Problems could arise. Generally, I find most will tune to a happy medium required to accurately produce the desired frequency range. A well designed HT sub will be tuned very low. This is because you are not looking to accurately reproduce musical notes, rather the low frequency material found in movies such as an explosion, or a dinosaur walking. This is where most musical material will never touch. If you are listening to material that is going to be playing sub 30Hz material, then tune low. A REAL, TRUE subwoofer really shouldn't be playing anything above 40-45 Hz. This is ideally where you would want a Strong midbass to take over. Listen to a bass guitar on a subwoofer system around that area, then listen to one on a well designed midbass setup. The differences will astonish you. Surprisingly, the smaller driver SHOULD have a greater effect with better accuracy. This is not true in all cases as previously stated as there are just too many variables to be considered. I could go on, but. . . . .
  6. I had an old AC unit years ago that actually had speaker level inputs. It was a BIT CH. Damn thing made so much noise. A simple fix was a dedicated LOC. Most Quality crossovers won't have something with hi level inputs, but I think your choices are going to be limited to a dash mount unit. I've seen many of these types accept a high level and function great with the EQ and crossover in one package.
  7. Black on black does not go. UNLESS there is something to offset the difference like a polished lip, spokes, etc. Too much monochrome is way too 90s.
  8. GOt to see some KOO bumper stands though!
  9. Let's see, got to the track at 8, walked around the pits, then car show, the swap meet. Sat down to watch some racing, it started raining. Dried the track, hour later racing resumes. Get through 2 sessions, starts raining again. Hour passes, another hour to dry the track. Racing resumes. Get though half a session, starts raining. 2 hours pass, dry track for 1.5 hours, bring next 2 cars to the line, oh, what's this? Yup, FREAKING RAIN! Clouds pass, track dry. Hour later we're racing again folks. Get through quite a bit of cars, then some guy's hatch glass flys out of the hatch at the end of the 1320. Spend 30 minutes cleaning that up, pull the next 2 cars up to the light, oops, I think it's raining again... ......... ......... ................ DAMN WEATHER! The best part. . . It was 42 degrees with a 13mph wind all day. Such comfortable weather. And I still can't figure out why the Bassani girls turned me down when I asked for a photo with them in their bikinis.
  10. I'm still debating on where to mount that actually. The goal is stealth. I'd like to keep all the stock stuff in their respective locations even though the entire rear seat area will be sub and amps.
  11. No, NO, and NOOOOOOOOOOO. Get some larger aftermarket Impala rims, or I have seen a few with the Z06 wheels. They look really nice. A dark paint needs chrome or polished aluminum.
  12. Boner?
  13. THAT'S what I'm talkin 'bout Willis!

I was going to have Jamie do a final layer on the enclosure in red CF, but now I'm thinking black vinyl will be better. I'm digging the all black theme throughout my intereior. The higlight will be the Magnum, but I have a trick up my sleeve for that as well.
  15. They weren't working earlier, but they are now. That motor is going to look so damn sweet on my CLAW!
  16. Night all! NMRA meet tomorrow.

    No birthsheets included.
  18. I just got a new i860 for $150! Too bad it can only handle 10 secs of video.
  19. Did you check the owners manual on the other ones you posetd earlier?
  20. A capacitor is 9 times out of ten used as a bandaid for a poor electrical system. Start with the big 3 upgrade, then if you're still having dimming problems, you'll have to step up to a larger alt. That is the ONLY way to cure any elctrical woe. Bigger or more batteries will not help for anything more than extended playing time with the vehicle off. Capacitors should only bge used as a COMPLEMENT to a well designed system with sufficient power capacity.
  21. The AC will work, but it's going to be a pain with the modules. I reccomend against it.
  22. Go to www.coustic.com and search the archives for the owner's manual. They will tell you in there everything the crossover will do. I do believe however that all their 6+ channle crossovers feature a bandpass section.
  23. Are you serious?
  24. Coustic, IMO makes THE best crossovers. That unit will work fine for you. Not for me though. slopes are only 12/db with an 18 on the lowpass. They aren't necessary, but an outboard DEDICATED crossover will always be better than any internal unit on a head or amp. Supa has an exception as with the Pioneer everything is done in the digital domain. This is a HUGE advantage given the DACs are up to it as most of the time, control is infinitely adjustable. My old Sony setup had infinitely adjustable slopes up to 60 some dB/octave!
