Misaligned belt perhaps? Did they replace the tensioner when it got fixed? Maybe a bad pulley or shaft somewhere? My alternator on my 95 did this same funny thing right before it went out.

The general rule of thumb is: An enclosure built to Vas, tuned at Fs will have an F3 of Fs. Of course, add in the vehicle or room and that all changes. Also, the parameters will change throughout the use of the driver as well. It's basically just a big guessing game we're playing. We are all fools!

The actual tuning frequency of the vent is tuned without the driver. Theoretically. Once you add the driver, then place the cabinet in the vehicle, you can pretty much throw everything out the window. Each specific thing is interacting with the entire environment. Hence the question of APPLICATION, rather than a simple ENCLOSURE. My biggest problem I've had is dealing with the individual transfer function variations and reflections between vehicles.

I personally believ it is because of the higher voltages easily attainable on the home market. No need for high current.

I had this problem on a CHEAP pair of drivers once. They kept playing though until they were fully demolished.

Hmm. My Spectrum showed up today. SD order from Feb.11th has a projected arrival of March 2nd. Welding cable=Friday. Stinger supplies= Friday. A1200= sometime this week. So, All I'm left waiting on is the Orion.
