Not looking for loud. SQ is subjective and easily attainable with ANY capable driver. Sorry your experiences were not good. I happen to have quite a bit of experience with these drivers and I fully understand their capabilities.

First off, welcome to the forum. i would have to agree that the amp is seeing a lower than allowable impedance. Check your wiring to make sure it's compatible with the amplifier. And be CAREFUL with that gain knob on the amp. It's NOT a volume control. Turning it up may make it louder, but it can also cause damage to your drivers.
