  1. Boy, the Rainbow's are just whooping everything in this thread aren't they.??!!
  2. She's so fine. Only reason I watched Buffy, now Angel. Damn...........
  3. All about the Benjamins! She's the ONLY reason I watched that movie!
  4. 1. Second nomination for the Rainbows!! I LOVE them!! 2. Rainbow Dreamline (their entry-level set). I have come across this set for $120 and I've heard $5-600 sets that don't sound as good as these. 3. My Koda 8s, CSS 4 and SF planars. All active of course. 4. A/D/s, don't know any info on them other than they were a 3 way set and kicked major butt. This was a couple years ago, yet I'm still impressed to this day. 5. USD waveguides with their 8" midbass and crossover network. I love the horns, but they can easily be way too loud if not done correctly. Their midbass is like making love to the town whore. Snappy as hell and QUICK on the attack.
  5. I don't know how anyone can settle on drivers anymore. There's just too much out there to choose from. I'm working on an all 1-brand install for my Cobra and it's a toss-up between JBL and Aura. JBL gets the edge in the price bracket and availability, yet I've always liked all the Neo drivers I've had from Aura. I'm just itching to try those Neo subs they have. ARGHHHHHHHHHHH Damn hobby!
  6. I got more than that!
  7. I have that same problem. And the only times he calls me, I can't answer.
  8. I know all about the Q. I was stating that I find it pointless. Just my OPINION though. I myself will pick my driversa based on the intended application, and I will get which ever one performs best in that app. No need to adjust the Q. That's what I'm getting at. It's abviously different in your case. SO I say give it a try and let us know the results. We're all eager to learn different things, and I think many would benefit from your experiment.
  9. That, I can't tell you. I don't have the measuring equipment to get that data, but I can tell you that if I plug that info into BassBox, it gives me a Q of .57 to .666 on the Brahma, depending on the amount of fill added. So you can clearly see how the only way you will get a definate answer is to contact Nick. Remember, once you load the driver/enclosure into a vehicle, everything is a different game. I would suggest going with whatever SI has listed on the site for recommended enclosures. You won't be disappointed. I might also like to add, that with your idea of altering the Q, you will need to know that whatever Nick recommends should be tossed out the window as the parameters have been changed by you and you will have to test/have tested the driver to find out the new parameters. This will be the only conclusive way to determine the enclsoure size and power handling. But like I said, it will all change once loaded into the vehicle. Is there a specific reason you want to alter the Q? I myself find things like this useless. Why complicate something so simple. Will it yield better results? That's questionable as every ear is unique. Will there be any discernable difference? Please don't take offense to this as it is not meant to be that way. I just think it'd be easier to find a driver that will do what you want it to do right out of the box from the manufacturer. It's just simpler, and better off than trying to modify something IMO.
  10. Depends on the size of the enclosure. And why would you want to go to full excursion anyways? When a driver is run to the limits, you always have the ever-present risk of damage. Hammer: I'm in the same boat as you, but I have the Koda 8s to hold me over, even though I have yet to install anything.
  11. I'm signing up for aerobics class tomorrow!!! What song is that? I like the beat!

  13. HEY! I need a pair of 10s!!!!
  14. I would comment on this, but I will leave your. . . . . . . . . . . Ah nevermind, you've done enough.
  15. I personally don't see anything wrong anywhere. I personally love this board more than any other. I can see your gripe, but take someone like me, who wasn't here when the board originally started. I don't know you or anything about you, therefore, I wouldn't feel comfortable purchasing anything from you. I know, you're going to say, "fine then, just don't post or complain," but the thing is, other people may not pay attention to stuff like that or they may just be niave. I think the rule is a good one, and should stay no matter what anyone says. I don't see anyone on here who thinks they are better than anyone else, so what's the deal. Aren't we all here to help each other and learn and what not? I'm not into the SPL game nor do I care about it, but with your "expertise" I would appreciate hearing some of your thoughts/ideas on things, so I think we would all love some more contribution from you. As for posting more about what ticks you off, I say go for it. I know if there's something I don't like, I'm ghonna raise hell about it; that's just how I am, and I personally feel people raising hairs will get the bad things worked out. Have a good day!
  16. Anyone else use this? I think it's pretty sweet! Looks like I have a HU on my screen.

Damn, when I read this on SIN, it didn't seem this bad, but crap, who knows what's all messed up. Cooling system seems to be damaged, which in turn means the AC is as well, like you need it up there anyways. Hood, bumper, header panel, core support. I'm guessing you're turning this in to insurance? Good luck!
  18. Did you get the whole story? It was all for some girl, and he didn't get any play! ROOKIE! I have to teach young skywalker some things before he can become the Jedi Pimp.
  19. You may want to look into the new extended range 4" units from CSS. They are excellent drivers! I love mine! Will be a 1 driver solution for a center channel in most instances. As for the main speakers, I myself like to stick with a larger LF driver so I can still retain some decent output down to about 40Hz where the sub will take over. I don't know about the REs for sub duty either. I would go with a Tempest if your room is a little larger. It will handle the power a little better and will move a TON of air. Plus I just LOVE the Tempests for HT sub duty. Let me tell you, 4 of them IB is just like sex!
  20. New Proto???!!! Boy, I wish I was in the loop! Oh, and Clarke, HONK HONK. Let's see how witty you are. If you figure that out, you may get a prize. Or two.

  22. It was the ONLY thing I was worried about. I should've known better, but it was not my hands that let go. Oh well, live and learn. Concrete is not as easy to work with as you would think.
