These are recommended specs. Depending on the power your going to give them it will change. You need somebody to model the subs in the box you want to use. http://products.soundsolutionsaudio.com/index.php/product-information/gcon.html

Is this going to be daily driver? I would do the battery and alternator before going to 1 ohm.
How many ssa subs get bad ratings. I think they have one of the best line of subs made in America from all American parts. Just my personal opinion.
I think they have more overhead because of all the free stuff they offer along with a purchase.
Another vote for sonic here. Never have had a problem with them.

The place I used to work for spent 3k on a db meter to measure the sound level in clean rooms.
A pair of fifteens will get to around 150 db's.
They make chargers just for agm batteries. It might be a good idea to buy one. And yes it should be charged before you install it.
