  1. Yes. That is my goal. It gets loud but not as loud as I would like. I'm not running my amp at its full potential so I need 2 2ohm dvc sub's to do that. Not interested in competing just a daily setup. The 250 watts rms would not make a audible difference that you could hear.
  2. Are you trying to make your system louder?
  3. What is the rms power rating on those subs? There is no such thing as under powering a sub. If you have a amp that puts out only 200 watts rms above the subs rating you can adjust the gain to not over power them. You have a lot to learn about car stereo !

Same to you ! Merry Christmas.
  5. Which ones?
  6. Details please https://www.google.com/search?q=window+bracing+for+speakers&biw=1120&bih=493&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=V6eZVKybH4isyQT5qYKoAw&ved=0CB0QsAQ
  7. No. This has absolutely nothing to due with what happened. You can't tell this dude anything. He knows why his equipment is blown but at the end of the day he doesn't why know why it blowed. Im just waiting for him to come back and post, "I have another smell coming from the trunk, these sorry ass type r's can't handle my badass hifonics amp. lol Still sounds like human error to me.
  8. box is 15.4 cubes after bracing and is tuned to 32. just under 16 inches of port for every cubic foot. all double layered 3/4 birch and all seems fiberglassed. mechman 240 and just a stock batt up front and 3 crescendo logic group 31 batts in back (soon to be 5). everything wired together with 2/0 sky high ofc. subs are 2 incriminator audio judges wired to one ohm on a sundown ns1. voltage holds steady but i just broke my voltage meter and im shopping around for the best one i can find. Steady at what voltage? I calculate you need over 460 amps @ 13.8 to keep up if your pushing the system to max. Also what other amp(s) do you have for your front stage? Are you going to run passive or active on the front stage?
  9. Sounds like it would be getting pretty big size wise.

I am very pleased by the sound of the gcon. It is being powered by the rear channels of a US Acoustics Barbara Ann amp. It makes bass come alive while producing fantastic sound. Oh it can get window shaking loud. A dcon on steroids !
  11. Hey I was playing with car stereo back in the early 70's. lol

The sound deadening I added seemed to helped the most.

Not what I wanted to upload.

They seem to work good. I am sure there are better setups out there. My computer skills suck !

  16. I will try it.
  17. It's nice to post the whole story and what is wrong so we can help. A lot of smart people on this form.
  18. Does each picture have to be uploaded one at a time or is there a way to do multipul pics at one time?
  19. Yes it is. It's a Group 31 battery. One of the cheapest I could find. They use it a lot, locally, for the boats. The Optimas were so expensive, I did not want to get one. There were no XS available at the time I was ready to buy a battery. Now I can find a few, but they are so expensive, it's not an option for me. So far, I have no problem with this one. ;-) ;-) I just questioned it because it looked like it had plugs you could pull out to check the acid level. I checked again ! No vents I can take off to check any level ! They are dry cell batteries...I don't know much about them. Vision EV31 is the name. Chinese batts. They have a website but I don't know how to really compare batteries. Looks good !
  20. Are you sure? Did you design the enclosure or did somebody else do it? Need dimensions and specs as to how you determined that. Also sounds like you don't have enough electrical to run it. Do you have extra batteries? What is the voltage at the amp?
  21. Sounds to me that you fried the voice coil. You can't set gains the way you are doing it. Plus what was you subsonic filter set at.
  22. Grounding to the battery is only as good as the battery is grounded.
