  1. I'd much rather have a good design with cheap parts than a crappy design with great parts. Are you speaking of the funky pup?
  2. I don't like them. i think theyre ok but they would probably look real good staggered with fatter back wheels

Do you mean net when you say "after everything", or is that before you subtract port and wood thickness?
  12. what are the dimensions of the port? it looks as if it has zero depth in the video.
  13. I'm not seeing a problem... Idk much about the subs thats why im curious, but it seems that a warhorse would be overkill or unnecessary. I guess they like some power?
  14. I only buy sine shaped woofers, best sq
  15. Arent those jbl subs only 800wrms?
  16. are those external dimensions of the box? if so you need to subtract the thickness of the wood from the volume. Also, you need to subtract the amount of volume you port and sub displace.
  17. The problem i see is that he believes one fi q 15 will always be louder than 2 type r's in a prefab ported enclosure Edit: ^^ more complete explanation from tirefryr
  18. i loved my ssd Great bang for the buck, Fi puts a lot into this "beginner" woofer.
  19. Besides the actual numbers on a termlab, it is still possible to compare subwoofer abuse handling and customer service (recones etc...) which are both important components to spl applications imo. Even though the OP didnt ask this, maybe some answers to this question can be useful for him. Which can handle more abuse for high spl purposes and which company better serves their customers needs? There is no "best" but their should be a "better" choice.
  20. stay within the recommended enclosure volume but the 40-60 in^2 of port area is not right, they need about 140 in^2 per driver minimum
