Box Q for Icon
I know this because the guy I paid to design it told me over the phone He didnt give you the net volume?

Box Q for Icon
So how do you know the tuning if you dont know the volume?

1 SP4 12 or 2 SSD 12
Why would Fi design a woofer to compete with themselves?
-
dual 2 to 1
I thought a clipped signal had more average power?

SP4 now up!
You must play classical guitar with nails like that Sweet subs man, im sure theyll perform awesome

Welcome to the IHoP
I don't know how many online calculators do it, but I'm sure any decent programs for building enclosures does it, at least it should. I guess i meant the first free calc

imo it depends how the box is going to sit. I like to do it where gravity is pushing down on a solid piece, such as the way you have it drawn if its upright Well the side with the multiple baffles is for the driver mounting, whether that's facing up, down, back, etc, I believe is immaterial. I just say that because those baffles are heavy and so is the sub, plus gravity is always acting compared to the amount of time its playing

So that calc is going to be the first to do that?

im definitely trying some plumbers tape when i redo my kicks. fuck dowels.. I'll upload a couple pics in a minute. I'm also almost done with a script for calculating port length for tuning, while accounting for port displacement. Works on slots, circular ports, and aero ports. Damn thats pretty awesome man It was a bit confusing to write up at time, specifically getting the tuning right since it changes as the enclosure changes from the port displacement. Thats what i was thinking, good job figuring it out

Ah, you found Step 1. I guess its actually step 2, because step 1 is "i needs more money" lol

Welcome to the IHoP
I needs more midbass My bl 12 drowns it out lol factory speakers, size? Factory 6x9's up front Im looking for specs online for my 2008 titan audio and noticed somewhere that i have 350 watts stereo output, its that just the headunit? I'd guess there is a factory amplifier somewhere, whether it be directly below the headunit, behind glove box, under a seat, I do not know. hmmm, maybe incorporated in the factory subwoofer. Would be nice if i could use it to power some components up front lol

FI BL12 in a samurai
Get a test tone cd, start off at box tuning on the cd with the ssf off. Work your way down in 1hz increments on the cd until the sub appears to be unloading then raise your filter until it stops.

Ya ~28 hz should be fine. Be careful though, sometimes the label on the amplifier isnt right. It may be best to use a test tone cd and set it with your eyes.

Dude im pretty sure i heard it bottom out on the low note at 14 secs, make sure your ssf is set correctly. Other than that it looks like its beatin pretty hard.

How Good Is Your Port?

How Good Is Your Port?
the "generally accepted rule" is bs, it depends on the driver used. It depends heavily on the amount of air the driver displaces. Minimum port area can be calculated using the Sd and Xmax parameters of the driver along with the number of ports used. Let me draw some stuff out for you. Ive seen several formulas, using vent velocity and such Just posted a general statement regarding displacement
