  1. I knew there was something with those 6.25" mounting depth I don't trust a .5" behind sub with vented pole piece. Also I see no mention of a sealed box especially one as small as I'm using. What do you think?

My new truck system install in progress 7/26/2014
  3. Yeah but that puts me over $300 for subs and I just don't want to do that. They are $159 ea. My total was hopefully $250 and down. But hey if it doesn't happen.
  4. Hey guys I haven't a system like this ever. I have http://www.atrendusa.com/bbox/vehicle-specific-carpeted/dodge?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=203&category_id=59. So only like .6ft^3 each. I need some subs that are no more than say $130 each and will work with 250-300 each. I thought about reusing my amp the jl xd 500/3 300x1 at 2 ohm. But I don't think that will be enough power for 2 subs. I need to watch the mounting depth as well. No more than 5.75" with vented pole piece. I thought about JL 10w1v3 or 10w3v3. Im not a big fan of jl subs but they work great in this enclosure size. It is going in a 2007 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. I know that it is a prefab box and two sealed 10's but im just looking for a good sound and not very expensive. I used to be into the custom ported boxes and bass that would rattle your fillings loose just not anymore. Im poor now and have gotten away from spending all kinds of money on car audio
  5. Go with the incriminator sub over the JL w6. I've had jl subs and they are not all their cracked up to be. For your amp I would put 0 gauge just to be safe. 4 gauge should do the job though. From amp to sub yeah like 12 gauge or 16 gauge. You may be very surprised at the trunk if it is at all like this year 3.0ft^3 will take up most all of that trunk.

Ok I have a x 10" with single magnet structure. Svc 4 ohm. I need this sub to be a svc 2 ohm and have a small tear in surround fixed. I have emailed fi twice on this and gotten no response. Anyone know how much it would cost or anything about reconing this?
  8. I'll hit him up I guess I'm not in a position to $250 atm. So maybe front doors only at this point.
  9. Because I want my sound system to sound good for the next 3 years. It won't matter to Honda if the doors are dynamatted the only issue would be if I need to something fixed in the doors in the next 3 years.
  10. Not afraid to buy used. The problem I have is electrical system. Only 80amp alternator and small battery. Changing these is not an option. My lights dim very slightly on certain songs with this 4 channel. I'm doing my big 3 in the next few months. No other electrical system upgrades can be made this civic is a lease.
  11. I think I'm gonna add another sub soonish and am hunting for an amp. My budget will be around $150 and was thinking 500 watts total. I'm going sealed. I have ~160 watts on this one now and it gets loud which is why I was gonna add another with a little more power each. Or would I be better off just getting a bigger amp on the one I have. My budget may go up some just depends on the amp. Definitely not over $200. I have 4ga wire running and will need to put an amp on fronts. I have a 4 channel now running entire system. My car is a 2011 Honda civic systems in Sig. If I'm a noob and you have questions just ask
  12. So I have very limited knowledge on deadening. I am leasing my 2011 civic the road noise is pretty significant. I want a little more midbass from my doors and don't want to do a lot considering its a lease. Should I just do the door skins and not cover all the big holes incase I need to replace say a power window motor under warranty or something. I'm not wanting to deaden the entire car just front doors and maybe the trunk. I was also looking at dynamat extreme on ebay for what seems a good price. 18x32 roll for $25 you tell me if that's a deal or not. thanks
  13. did you get them and :pics:
  14. Yea that would be would ok with me. I've been in car audio a long time and like certain brands :keepsake: PM me or something we can figure out where to meet when I get some time.
  15. Well its gone by very fast and Ive had this woofer almost a year and it is a great product. I have a JL audio J2 320.4 rear channels pushing this sub so ~160 watts. I have had this ported and now it is sealed. I really love how sealed sounds in my car. This sub will play low notes pretty well and will get plenty loud for me. Overall I would give this sub a 8.5 out of 10 score. Pros: Very musical Very fast response for rock Get plenty loud for me Great build quality not had an issue one with this sub Very versatile in what kind of box you can use Cons: Doesnt play quite low enough but I know why It is a 10" in a sealed box with low power Basket is huge and had to get both boxes cut out more than specs to make it fit I will be buying another Fi sub at some point for my winter beater just gotta decide what I want.
  16. I love those SE subs pre Us amps. Keep that thing im not sure you will get a huge upgrade from any of the choices. Ive never heard a sundown sub though.
  17. I have my X 10" in about .7ft^3 listen to rap and rock with ~160 watts and it sounds perfect imo. With that much power buy the BP power option and go smaller sealed. I dont think you would be disapointed in the ~.8ft^3 box. I had my X ported and like it much better sealed than ported. Everything i understand the larger box lowers power handling a bit now i could be wrong and the smaller increases it a bit. With ~500 on a 250 rms woofer you see where im going.
  18. 2 Fi X 10's no doubt sealed. I put mine in my civic same amp sealed box instead of ported and love how it sounds may even be a little louder sealed than ported. Hard to tell though. I wish i would have gone sealed from the start.
  19. That is about .75ft^3 per sub based on 1993 camaro dual sub boxes. I would go with x 10's in that space. I just put mine in that space today and it sounds awfully good.
  20. i have an X and dont need it reconed. I can probably assure you they will recone it just not on the site.
  21. Just give them a bit of time if you emailed them today or yesterday they wont get back til monday. Wait til middle of next week and then either call or hopefully they will respond here. They are very good guys and will get you an answer just patience.
  22. gotta wait for my check to clear on monday and money will be sent hopefully
  23. are they any of these left? I would love to pick one up to replace my jl amp.

My single 10" ported pounded just fine for me in an explorer. Cant wait to install it in my civic.

I have a Fi X 10" in the recommended ported box 1.14ft^3 tuned to 32 and it got plently loud in my explorer off 160 watts. Im gonna put in my civic in a sealed box off the same power and am looking for good results. They will work good in either sealed or ported. I love the way this subs sounds so i wont be getting rid of it nor am i sad i didnt buy another brand.
