  1. Oh snap is right! The gluing and screwing begins tomorrow.
  2. We acquired the wood over the weekend - a mix of Birch and Fir Plywood - so with luck I should start construction in a couple of days. I have a mess called a garage to clean first...
  3. They're getting closer - that's all I know right now..
  4. Well, based on samples I can provide the following basic info. The rest will come once I measure random units from the batch: - 15mm Xmax - 700 watts RMS power handling - approx. Fs = 27Hz - 4 Ohm single voice coil If you want to get in on them early, contact Aaron and see about working something out with him. Best, Mark
  5. I love you too I love boobs too Might be too far for you to drive
  6. Its really not that difficult to import your "SQL" content in. Just check the Zen site to see if there is a script made up for your old software. If not, it's not difficult to make one yourself...
  7. Yes, they would be more suitable for IB than the first gen MJ's, and folks used those in IB configs like crazy... Best, Mark
  8. So did you break into Fi and steal all of Scott's trade secrets like I asked you to?
  9. Pretty funny stuff I wish I had an imagination for words like that...
  10. If memory serves, you are referring to Baltic Birch. Nice stuff - light, very strong, but expensive.
  11. Looks like you've been Zenned... I agree, Zen has sure come a long way since the last time I looked at it. So much so, that I too switched to it...
  12. Interesting topic actually. I did a fair bit of research on this awhile back, and found that laminates (read plywood) provide much more structural strength than MDF. Each laminate is glued together 90 degrees opposing each other, so you get strength in all directions and not just the two directions you see on the outer layers. MDF as it stands offers no directional strength whatsoever. Its use has proliferated the cabinet industry due to its ease of forming and finishing. And of course, it is cheaper than ply. So, to answer your question, plywood would be the choice to use. It would however, cost a few bucks extra. Best, Mark
  13. Can't do that. Those who view the pictures would need to be wearing welding goggles. Since I can't guarantee that would happen, we can't expose these good people to such blinding torture..
  14. Surprise! You can start by taking some pictures of your empty van to give folks an idea of the area we are working with. Then some shots of those nice amps you have. And of course, your head unit... I'll take care of the sub part..
  15. Get 'er done!
  16. Its not yet done Ryan, sorry...
  17. Here it starts - Dennis' Mach 5 Audio 'Bitch' van build. Dennis was kind enough to donate one of his vans to the cause of getting down and dirty on what I would call a budget-based high volume vehicle. Since he hasn't started a build log, I decided to "help" him out. I'll let Dennis post info on the van make, model, amps used, and any other logistics that he feels are necessary. We met this passed weekend and measured things out - it is looking like eight (8) IXL-15.2.2 units will be fitted based on idea exchanges. So, hopefully with any luck, you will get updates from the both of us over the course of weeks. Now that the weather has FINALLY decided to cooperate, things should start moving. Dennis, you're up...
  18. They are up on the webstore - look under Categories - Speaker Parts. Best, Mark
  19. For those of you who like to piece together your own driver, I am now stocking 4-spoke baskets (6-spoke for the 18"). Sizes from 8" to 18" available. Just thought I would post here to let you guys know. Best, Mark
  20. I am not certain at this time. The buildhouse cannot provide an ETA since they do not know how long the ship will take. If I hear anything though, I'll certainly let you know. m
  21. Drinking micros with copious amounts of American hops has really turned me off to the style unfortunately. I have come to the conclusion that American IPA's are forcefully over-the-top and seem to be made simply to 'one up' the other brand. If you want an IPA that is based closer to the original English style of years gone, get your hands on Sergaent's IPA from Old Yale Brewing in B.C. It has a multi-dimensional flavour that is quite deep, and considering it is an IPA, is quite balanced (if thats even possible when speaking of an IPA ) Be careful though. I recall having one or two that were from what I would call a 'spoiled batch' - one dimensional, unbalanced; somewhat reminiscent of my first home-brewed IPA I made. I can only assume that they were dealing with consistency issues at the time. MMmmmm... breaks my heart thinking how I can't get it anymore...
