  1. The 3500D is incorrect - the other amps are correct. Need to get up w/ Mark about fixing the site... the 3500 has the 3000 length listed.
  2. Z v.2 will be available in 12, 15, and 18 sizes. I may also offer 10" size.
  3. We are sold out of new motors -- so no longer available. I did not understand. if I want to order them, are no longer available? until mid-2010 there will be only the Z15 v2 and SA series?? You are correct. Nightshade v.1 is no longer available.
  4. Let me break this down -- it probably will take a 3k amp just fine when wired at rated impedance, but you won't need to. I AM using a coil with almost half the mass of the Nightshade v.1 model so there is less thermal dissipating mass (although, cooling is better on Z v.2)... but this is the thing -- the Z v.2 production model should be about 1 dB more efficient at equal power compared to the v.1 Nightshade. So... if you needed 3000 watts to do X amount of SPL on the v.1 Nightshade then you will need only 2250 or less for the same output on the Z v.2 (likely less as gaining 1 dB at that point takes more than the 33% needed in theory). So... the top priority in designing the Z v.2 is more SPL per watt, not necessarily to soak up alot of power for no reason If you want to dump a bunch of power on something daily then the Nightshade v.2 is probably more for you as it is getting a very large voice coil with substantially more mass.
  5. We are sold out of new motors -- so no longer available.
  6. Not exactly... but it is based on alot of what I learned from that prototype.
  7. Yep. Even if we run out TeamPSI is always there
  8. I was almost right on applied power Clamped 7200 watts @ 154.3 dB at the competition yesterday.
  9. I built one up (prototype motor still) for a show tomorrow... D1 with just two of the new spiders + double leads. Burped two 3500s @ 1/4 each on it resulting in 154.2 dB -- with my voltage drop / impedance rise that is probably around 7kw... I may get time to clamp @ the show tomorrow.
  10. We still have some for you Gary.
  11. On the SPL testing... that was in my Jeep, no wall, sealed on the dash, at 53 hz. I forgot to mention that.
  12. I am shooting for ~1 dB gain vs. the SPL results I tested at equal power with the Z v.2 -- I think that with my final improvements it is possible.
  13. The current model Nightshade is officially discontinued. We used the last brand new motor in stock today. This is how the Sundown Audio line will look soon : Z series v.2 = 1500-watt RMS model * ETA is 6-8 weeks Nightshade v.2 = 2000-watt RMS model * ETA is mid 2010 (maybe sooner) Both of these new drivers will feature several new technological advancements compared to the Nightshade v.1 to improve power handling and output per watt (efficiency). We will also be offering a spider option with double up tinsel leads for folks that like to run amps at 1/2 ohm daily. I won't release a whole bunch of details just yet. I will let the testing speak for itself when they are available. ----- Here is just a little bit of data from testing the initial Z 15" v.2 prototype motor (which lacks several improvements of the production model): 148.4 -- 1250 watts 150.1 -- 2020 watts 150.8 -- 2530 watts 152.5 -- 3980 watts 153.1 -- 5350 watts 153.2 -- 5570 watts This prototype has a gap that is a full 1.6mm wider than production... this means this motor is "weaker" than what production will be. I was calling this the "NS-X" For a little while... we went with a lighter coil to "take it down" to our 1500-watt driver. Make no mistake, though, it will take power well
  14. Sundown Z15 D2 or D4 -- $200 shipped in continental 48 states SPECIFY COIL WHEN ORDERING. NO DOA Warranty ONLY -- there is no further warranty expressed or implied. These are VERY high quality subs... built in the USA. They are being closed out to make room for the upcoming Z v.2 model. 15. These are almost gone so I am unsticking the topic.
  16. Creating a new and separate thread to clear the clutter. We still have a fair amount available ! ---------- Paypal me at [email protected] to order or talk to your favorite dealer. ---------- SAX-50.4 -- $200 shipped in continental 48 states I will still include a 2-year warranty on these. Most customers shopping for an amp at this power level are more concerned about $ to watt and less about crossover flexibility. So we are closing out the 50.4 and will be developing a less expensive model to replace it without as much crossover flexibility to offer more watts per dollar. Make no mistake... the 50.4 is deceptively powerful as it produces over 60 watts per channel in reality.
  17. I am behind... just saw this. Do you want to OD with or without gasket ?
  18. Got it cut yesterday !

I'm back... whatever was wrong w/ me seems to be gone. So it did not appear to be the flu... or it was the quickest flu ever.
  21. *redneck voice* Yeeeeap... thats yer problem right there!

Home sick today... may be the flu. So I am not getting to e-mails and PMs... just resting a bit so I can get back to work ASAP.
  23. It will be hard to fit the port in the box for any less than two of these.
  24. Wow - nice
  25. I have not caught up on all e-mails yet.
