  1. but these are the calculations you? or measured separately? from video, you see only the final result, which indicates the strument I measured them after taking the video. It is difficult to hold the camera and adjust all the instruments at the same time.
  2. Another test... One SPV-70 Battery + 52-Amp Power Supply 0.5 DCR (One Nightshade 15) rise to 1.42 ohms -- 2660 Watts with voltage drop to 11.2v http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDaFy5OvGdc Measured Voltage = 61.5 V Measured Current = 43.9 A Calculated Current = 43.25 A (so this is just as accurate as measuring for all intents and purposes)
  3. My load is 1 ohm nominal / 0.7 DCR and actual is 1.89 ohms calculated from power and voltage.
  4. Test with power supply at 2340 watts was 66.5 V / 35.18 A (you can see test video for 66.5V). So you an assume for 2240 watts it was very close to that as well.
  5. Part TWO: NO Power Supply - Single Stinger SPV-70 ONLY 2240 Watts still @ the same 1.89 ohms. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNhRX0XOWVg
  6. Bench power testing with ONE Stinger SPV-70 and ONE Pyramid 52-Amp Peak power supply. Two videos. One of power test one of voltage test used to calculate the 1.89 ohm actual impedance. 2340 watts with a voltage drop to around 11.4v by the time the Power meter kicks in. Voltage drop measured at battery as well - could be lower at the amp by a tenth or two. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9r1B0IiRdsI * Power Test -- Put it in HQ to see the Power Meter better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WvA7DomXrZg * Voltage Test - 66.5v so calculated impedance is 1.89 ohms
  7. Also... another swap that was done... SAZ-3500D vs. American Bass VFL-400.1 (equal to Celestra DA6K) running at 1/2 ohm each. The SAZ-3500D gained 0.5 dB SPL. Electrical supply consists of vehicle running with stock alternator + two Stinger SPV-1700 batteries. Sub-woofers were two American Bass HD 15s. THIS VEHICLE:
  8. This is not exactly a power test but here is a swap : * American Bass 1000.1 (Two 500.1 in one case) -- Equal to TWO SPL Dynamics D5 * Two SAZ-3500Ds VIDEO WITH 1000.1 @ 1.33 ohms per side: * 153.1 dB VIDEO WITH 3500Ds @ 0.33 ohms each: * 155.1 dB The 1000.1 would NOT RUN at the 0.33 load at all. Protection at 125 dB output.
  9. These are from Derrick's Explorer : Starting battery + 2x Powermaster D3100s used for testing 3980 @ 0.25 rising to 0.65 @ 11.2v (engine on) 2050 @ 1 rising to 2.44 @ 12.2v (engine off) ----- These are from Ray Farmer: Okay, I have done my SAZ3500D 12volt power test. I would like to say, WOW!! My nominal ohm load was 0.5 ohms. I did plenty of test but I got the amp to do its power at the proper settings and did 3 test and took the average. I used 2 x NSB-g3100 to power the amp, Starting voltage 13.2 Test 1 75.1 volts 39.9 amps 2996.5 box rise 1.88 voltage drop 12.2 Test 2 75.1 volts 37.7 amps 2827.5 watts box rise 1.99 voltage drop 12.1 Test 3 76.0 volts 39.5 amps 3002.0 watts box rise 1.9 voltage drop 12.1 Average of 3 test 75.4 volts 39.03 amps 2942.86 watts box rise 1.92 approximately 2 ohms So 2942.86 watts @ 2ohms @ 12.1 volts That is some power!!! ----- These are from my Jeep on 16v: 6x Powermaster D1000s used for testing 17.9 volts rest - did not measure voltage drop. 10,320 watts from the pair @ 1.5 ohms each after rise starting at 0.5 DCR 5160 each 11,470 watts from the pair @ 1.3 ohms each after rise starting at 0.5 DCR 5735 per amp ---- Anyone else please share your results.

What is the lead resistance on your DMM ? Touch them together and see what it reads.
  11. Any information not posted is not yet available
  12. Our amps are on sale this month if you are interested. If not I can move this to the normal amp section.
  13. Dampener + bigger batteries will probably get you there
  14. I will have a list of items I will NOT accept as well... and that includes any MTX product. They are impossible to sell.
  15. The way it worked before... I was taking in many other brands for credit on new Sundown amps. Folks would e-mail me to get a quote on value for their stuff... then ship it to me if they like the quote so I can make sure it works as promised... then they pay the balance and I ship their new amps. I then sell the used amps.
  16. I am considering bringing it back on all items next month.
  17. Yah, we still have them in stock
  18. The haul for today... not quite as big as yesterday :
  19. Officially all pre-ordered 2000Ds are now packed up.
  20. It is possible papers got out of order -- they will still all be out by Friday at latest. Most likely they will all make it out today, though.
  21. sundownz replied to Gary F.'s topic in Sundown Audio
Indeed... pretty large gains going to 16v on our SAZ amps.
  22. ALOT of early orders were placed.
  23. Not sure what you are asking about the wire... but you absolutely must have 1/0 wire.
  24. Shipped a BUNCH out today... darn near filled up the UPS truck *laughs* So alot of people should have tracking numbers. If you don't yet you will by Friday.
  25. You are at 1/2 ohm per amp. 2 ohms per sub then connecting to both sets of terminals, one set for each sub, makes them in parallel at the amp -- final 1 ohm load total -- 1/2 ohm per amp. Do not wire all the coils in parallel as you will have 1/8th ohm per amp.
