So it is a bit confusing due to several updates along the way... so the above should help out when ordering a re-cone kit.
We need to know what version you have to built the correct kit.
Aside from the box printing being a bit mis-leading it's not super hard to understand using the above picture.
The 60 unit run of "v.2" woofers (v1.75) was only sold to a few people who knew up front about what they were -- I just had the factory put v.2 on the box so we would know what they were as we unloaded the truck. But I am sure someone will get one of them second hand. They can be re-coned to standard v1.5 parts with copper coil and hard spider.
As the photo indicates the baskets cannot be swapped around. This is due to a bolt pattern variation -- some savvy users have drilled their own patterns and that is fine as all version v1 through v1.75 have compatible motors -- there is only a slight gap variation across generations of those but not enough to make a significant difference when using them together.
The actual v.2 model is COMPLETELY different. Someone would have to make custom adapters and/or drill and tap the top plate of an older motor to use the basket. I am not planning to offer this adapter.

Got some factory pictures just now -- it's shipping to us soon. Assuming all goes well we'll start production of this and the 2500D v.2 very soon!
* I had mentioned we were working on double inputs but it wasn't going to work out with the narrow casing. Outside of dedicated SPL the difference is not significant, though.
* We got the production RCAs on this prototype.

Just got these in... designed them based on many requests for a really good sealed box 8" woofer. Power rating is pending testing but mechanically I designed them around 300 watts or so (half the spiders of the SA-8 v.2) -- we'll do our thermal cycle to determine the official rating. As is typical with our products the rating giving will be a "worst case" rating and many people will have no problem running a bit extra.
We built upon our newly tooled platform from the SA-8 v.2 so it shares many of the advantages of that platform from the get-go.
These feature an under-hung coil with predicted linear x-max of ~14.5mm one-way by 70% BL method using an 8-layer copper 2" coil with 1/2" of winding width.
The total depth for mounting is right at 4.75" measured,
I will be measuring actual T/S on them later on today after some break-in time. Pricing is also pending final costs from our parts suppliers.
On to the photos :
* E8 v.2 then SD-2 8" then SA-8 v.2
* For this design I used drilling in the basket as opposed to the vent ring to save depth.
* Solid pole like the other SD-2 woofers so there is no need to leave room to breathe behind them.
* Same spider as the SA-8 v.2 but only one layer (top layer)

To ensure that contact is organized and prompt please read the following.
DO NOT post on Facebook or the Forums to request order status, warranty information, or pricing. It is VERY difficult to know who you are or what you ordered this way. Forums and Facebook are designed to share new product information, customer installs, updates, etc and are not optimal for the aforementioned things.
MAKE SURE you provide your REAL NAME somewhere on the e-mail -- if you are asking about an order make sure to tell us the name and e-mail on the Paypal payment as they very often do not match.
For order status and tracking :
For basic pricing (including stock drop-ins) :
For odd-ball stuff (custom re-cones / parts) :

If you absolutely cannot reach us electronically and it's an emergency you can call. It is preferred to use electronic contact so there is a written record for future reference. If you do call; DO NOT call us 100 times in a row if you don't get an answer the first time -- leave a message and/or wait 15-20 minutes and try again. Someone is not beside the phone 100% of the time but someone is there most of the time.
Again -- it is preferable to use the above contact before calling. Calling opens up significant room for errors and leaves no record of the conversation.

Just to make sure I understand :
1) How many Z v.3 12s do you have ? Just one ?
2) If you have just one woofer... you are in the region we suggest for TWO Z v.3 12s in a ported box with 3.7 cubes. You are using nearly 4x what we would suggest sealed for a single Z v.3 12" but I would really not suggest sealed as optimal as you will have a lacking bottom end compared to a woofer better for sealed and/or this woofer ported.
These have very powerful motors geared towards ported and they will move ALOT in a super large box, especially sealed where there is no port to restrict movement around tuning.

Making some progress on the finalized mid... the cone material turned out great on the first sample so we've moved onto the rest of the details :
* Cone mounted on the new frame
* Side view with the cast frame
* Gap venting implemented... the finish is NOT final it is only for sampling.
* The final finish will be smooth with chrome plating... will look VERY nice and also will be very corrosion resistant.

12v clamp testing :
2420 @ 1.86 ohms
67.1v
36.06a
2490 @ 1.57 ohms
66.2v
42.1a
2750 @ 1.40 ohms
62.1v
44.3a
2950 @ 0.94 ohms
52.4v
56.3a
Very pleased with that. It is right on par with the v.1 model -- we will do typical minor tweaks on production and maybe squeeze a few % more out of it.
As usual this was done on my Extech power clamp; it reads power out directly very accurately. I use measured voltage to calculate amperage and then actual impedance.
Once I get a handful of free time I will do a 16v round-up with all of the new prototypes.

This is the type of driver we are aiming this set at :
Scan did the wide open design for good reason
We are going as open as practical without getting quite so deep.

Here is the frame I will be using on the set (cast aluminum) -- as I said initially this first prototype is mainly to test / verify the cone material performs like I want it to. This frame is only a few millimeters deeper than the stamped unit... total depth is going to be about ~66mm which is 2.59"
I am also thickening the back plate, doing some small motor modifications, and adding ventilation to the back plate as well to help relieve pressure / back-wave reflections and to keep coil temperatures down.
I'll be putting the initial set in my car shortly... then I will be getting the revised midranges as quickly as possible. Once I verify everything we should be ready to roll soon after on production assuming it all checks out in my testing.
Also... I expect MAP price from a dealer to come in under $200

Sundown E-10/12/15 and SA-10 D4 Back In Stock
Just finished unloading and sorting the container. So they are ready for order once again.
Re-cone parts for the E series also arrived so I will work up pricing for kits soon. I have heard very minimal need for the parts but I'm sure they are a small handful out there somewhere.
Sundown : Revisiting Component Sets (Mid-Level)
in Sundown Audio
I should have the midrange final prototype in my hands on Monday... assuming it is 100% to my liking I will announce pre-order pricing as we have already started to get materials together for the tweeter, crossover, etc.
