  1. So... I have information on the SAX-125.4 now -- who finds that interesting ?!
  2. I'll post exact dimensions and size comparisons when the prototype gets here Stay tuned !
  3. Forgot to close this... pre-ordering is over now.
  4. Z v.3 Line SOLD OUT We have more motors due end of May to first of June. Demand for these has really been incredible... by far our best selling large subwoofer in company history. I have several production runs of motors in place to attempt to keep up with demand so hopefully we don't run out again for some time.
  5. Just got my first pictures of the first completed prototype of the new SAZ-1500D v.3 model... so the cat is out of the bag on this one! As the model that got us started it is only appropriate that it is the first model to be shown in the 2012 trim! Newly tooled 2012 casing -- you can still tell it IS a Sundown amp but it is a refresher and also narrower. The FETs are mounted at a 45 degree angle to shrink the width AND avoid spring clips (which I've never liked). So we are getting the best of both worlds on that. * Fully custom tooled boards for all of our new 2012 models complete with fans. More photos to come as I get the other models done! Yes... you do see 16 power supply FETs in this amp along with four transformers. * We will use the fancier RCA plugs for production. So this has many things I've been asked for (smaller size and fan) and MANY improvements to design that were really just personal goals of mine. The entire line is stable to 19v as well. Power testing to come when it arrives... the SAX-125.4 model should be showing up within a week or so as well. Pictures of the completed prototype coming soon too!
  6. Back in the SoundIllusions.net days I recall someone use Brahma 10s as mid-bass
  7. It's making me want to add more power Peak is right around 29-31 Hz with the windows down -- sounds the best this way. So far we are at 141.5 or so on music, slowed "Juice Box," with right at 950 watts or so clamped power. We'll get a video up later on as it's just about lunch.
  8. I mean we drop shipped all the other ones -- when the price changed to $185 it is from a stocking quantity that SSA reserved to be sent to them and then to customers.
  9. SSA has a stocking quantity coming to them -- from which your woofer will be shipped.
  10. That is correct -- the sound will be a very different type of sound primarily due to lower THD and the increased bottom end.
  11. We shipped all orders that we have directly with us already.
  12. It's on the back seats behind the box I'll work on videos and whatnot later in the week.
  13. Forgot to add -- I am powering them off the rear channels of my SAX-200.4 bridged at 1.33 ohm (I don't endorse it for anyone else but so far so good).
  14. So the single SA-8 v.2 has been doing great for quite a while with the PSI PR but now that production is in and all pre-orders have shipped I decided I wanted to step it up a bit to THREE of them. Derrick came up today and put together a nice box for me for the three 8s using a single 6" aero-port about 28" long or so tuning us in the low 30s. Box is constructed of a single layer of 3/4" Russian Birch plywood. * Yep... that is a LONG port. * Inside view -- just a basic box with all the giant motors hanging out. * Sealed with a bit of silicone. As we may be tweaking some more I just ran the wires through the port for the time being. * In the car. * Bit close to the side wall but still works out pretty well as we are trying to get a very low peak. * Small risers for the parcel shelf. * Box secured into the car with three small angle brackets Initial impressions are that it is extremely loud and has GREAT low-end extension. Pretty much everything I wanted and more. Output is much better with the windows down due to the low tuning and it moves a good bit of air. We'll work on videos, metering, etc at a later date but for now I'll just say it sounds GREAT.
  15. The specs in the pre-order are final on them, yes.
  16. Glad you like it !
  17. Whew! Forgot to take pictures of the haul from today... but our FedEx man came by twice =) We should have the last of the pre-ordered SA-8s v.2s out Monday and also start shipping NeoPro-6.5 pre-orders !
  18. so i may have two half broken coils one on each sub... at the same time.? you know whats funny.... im not even mad at my self... i wanted to pull the box anyway,... and i wanted to recone the subs to dual 2's any how..... i had just NEVER seen this issue before. blew my mind. Most likely not -- it would say ~2 ohms more than likely if they were half out. See the first part of the post; touch the DMM leads together and see what it says first. my DMM reading jumps around ALOT.. when i i touch them togather... but it settles at 1. and .9 so 1 ohm i guess. I have several DMMs around here that are awful at reading resistance but do everything else okay. If you have 1 ohm on the leads and read 2 ohms on the subs the sub load is 1 ohm.

  20. We'll have specs up soon on the 12s.
  21. Touch your DMM leads together and see what it says. If the coils were "half broken" then resistance on one side would double as they are bifilar wound coils -- a D2 is actually Quad-4 for example. Then two 4 ohm windings are in parallel per side for 2 ohms.
  22. They are in stock this morning. Truck is unloaded and I've started testing. Some of the earliest orders will get shipped today. It could take up to a week to get them ALL shipped since we test every one of them. I posted some inventory pictures on our Facebook. Please DO NOT ask me about your individual order as I will not be going through the whole folder to check. Just know we will test and ship them ASAP and tracking #s will be dispatched to your dealer if you ordered from a dealer or to your PAYPAL e-mail account if you ordered that way.
  23. The SA-8 v.2 container is released from port and should be to us by Wednesday. We are trying to get them to pick it up sooner but there is supposidly a backup of containers due to the Easter holiday. If we are able to get it here sooner I'll post another update.
  24. Will it be the same size or smaller? Hopefully a little smaller. It will be smaller.
