  1. I am expecting E8s on Monday - they will ship in the same order I received payment. I am expecting the amps on Tuesday - same deal here.
  2. Yes, today is the last day.
  3. I got the pre-orders
  4. *laughs* Thanks. Got it.
  5. Hard to say... there are alot of variables.
  6. Making a few changes and getting a new sample in a few more weeks: 1) Adding 10mm to magnet stack 2) Moving vent holes closer to the pole by 5mm 3) Making the coil 5mm taller 4) Creating a plastic spacer ring under the basket This makes total x-mech 33.75mm vs 26.25mm now. Bottoming it out is really the only way to hurt this design within reason. I accidentally put an amplifier in front of my port, effectively making it nearly sealed (a big sealed box at that)... and started the vehicle with the volume at the "testing" volume level. Bottomed it HARD until I realized what was going on and it did kill the coil - cut it down and it was a purely physical coil failure, the coil still looks nice and new otherwise. With the increased x-mech this design should be nearly bullet-proof!
  7. Well - you could send one in, or I have the Sundown Audio caps.
  8. 80 dB This design was optimized for both small box and low-end extension - as we are bound by Hoffman's Iron Law sensitivity had to go down. Don't put much stock in a sensitivity rating for a sub-woofer, though With 200-watts they have quite a bit of output.
  9. Displacement isn't quite 1/2 cube - more like 0.20 cubes
  10. So, I should look different eh ? *laughs*
  11. Don't have to - what cap do you want ?
  12. Either is fine... we have them IB in Brandon's Bronco from 50 - 200 Hz and they work great.
  13. 178 volts / 9.5 amps clamped peak... 9.4 ohms per amp calculated... 1691 watts. Can't get any more juice than that at 50 Hz in my SPL box. The woofer was NOT showing any signs of mechanical strain @ the 50 Hz burp frequency in this box -- the sub has more in it and, for that matter, should probably be in a smaller box as this is my 15" woofer SPL box So I am very pleased with it. 145.2 dB score in the SPL box. I kept playing it for a while at the same level... probably a few minutes. Still no issues with the sub. The top plate has a gap under it as I used some neoprene foam as a gasket since it is just temporary.
  14. Two E8s will generate ALOT of mid-bass.
  15. We made a top plate for my SPL box @ lunch - so we'll try it in there too!
  16. Your 100.4 and 125.2 have all the crossovers you will need to "go active"
  17. So far so good in testing. I used the old test box from the VW in the Jeep... which is ~2 cubes tuned around 30-35 Hz or so, port nearly touching the hatch (eg: very poor setup for getting numbers). Peak still @ 50 Hz -- 138.3 dB with ~720 watts or so. I played music with constant power from 500 - 720 watts clamped in this box for 5-10 minutes. Woofer did not display any mechanical stress except on 720-watt peaks -- will probably make the magnet stack taller for production to avoid that as the coil can contact the back plate at 26.25mm of excursion, which I was able to achieve. I also played the 50 Hz tone for several minutes at the same power level as before - score stayed pretty constant. I then turned the frequency up to 60 Hz and let it play... didn't really clamp the power at first but about 20 seconds in I got curious. Sub was seeing 1800+ watts clamped power and by the time I hit pause was doing so for about 40 seconds or so. Sub is still just fine. So... probably 15 minutes or so of at least 500 watts and as much as 1800 watts on sine wave material and no issues at all. Design seems to be meeting it's goals so far. I want to make a top plate for my SPL box to see what it does in there as well just for kicks PS: I made a mistake on my spec sheet for the factory... forgot to tell them to make the coils D4 so I got S8 coils... I have two 3000s strapped on it to get this power level Oh yah... and most importantly the driver sounds pretty darn good to. This test box is tuned low so I was able to get a feel for the sound a typical customer will experience and I am pleased with it.
  18. Josh, You would want to use another amp with active crossovers - the 125.2 would allow you to "band pass" crossover the 8s so you can enable the HPF (sub sonic) to cut out the sub frequencies and the LPF to cut off everything above ~200 Hz. Then you would high pass the other speakers at ~200 Hz on their respective amplifier.
  19. Current ETA for Amplifier pre-orders: November 21st Current ETA for E8 pre-orders: November 27th ----- All pre-ordering is closed on the 21st - that is the last day to send in money. Updates to the ETAs will be posted here. The ETA means the estimated date we will receive the product - pre-orders will ship in the order they were received ASAP once we get the product in stock.
  20. Pre-Order ends on the 21st - get the low price while you can!
