  1. It will be more than the 100.4 but with the wattage increase figured in it's only a small amount of difference dollar to watt. I don't want to spoil it yet... but I think everyone will love the SAX-125.4
  2. This has taken slightly longer than I hoped but I should have the first two new amps ready to test in a few weeks as the board are pretty much ready and just need the case tooling to get mounted in. SAZ-1500D v.3 SAX-125.4 The 100.4 part is no more -- this unit is a good bit more powerful. I'll leave the rest of the details as a surprise  Next up once those launch will be the SAZ-2500D v.2 and SAZ-3500D v.2 models... and finally we'll release a new SAX two channel likely in the 150-watt or so range this time around! Once that is all done we can get cracking on the SAE amp line again.
  3. All updates will go in the SA-8 v.2 pre-order update thread :
  4. They are doing the "offical" drafts to meet the documentation requirements of the patents based on the drawings I already have of the frames -- then they'll get them filed as soon as possible after that. Once I have confirmation of filing from my patent attorny I'll be ready to share
  5. I have been holding out opening this to make sure they won't take as long to make this time. The good news is they didn't as our special rectifiers are now in stock at our factory and production finishes next week. So this puts delivery time about 4-5 weeks from now. As of now I still have quite a few to go around but that could change at any time as I have had inquiries about some LARGE builds with these amps. $1500 pre-order price shipped in continental USA AK or HI add $100 for SH ($1600 total) USA ONLY. For international talk to your distributor. You can PAYPAL me at [email protected] or talk to you favorite local or online dealer to pre-order. These WILL NOT last more than a week or so after arrival so if you want one let me know. The NS-1 had a HUGE presence at SBN so anyone in attendance can confirm they are power-houses  The manual can be downloaded here: http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/protos/NS-1_Amp/NS-1%20manual.pdf Rated Power : 6500 x 1 @ 1 ohm 12.20(W) X 2.68(H) X 27.56(L) inches As with all our manuals the rated voltage is listed as 14.4v but the amps easily meet spec at 12.8v as with our other models. * Built in fan LINKS TO SOME TESTING : Car Audio Classifieds There is quite a bit more floating around on the forums as well.
  6. I consider the new baskets and soft parts to be a major change -- so yes. The Z v.3 motor can handle a good bit more travel than we are using right now so I don't have to mess with it for a while.
  7. When can we expect to see these on the X and Z series subs? I don't think I saw where that was said but I might've missed it. I cannot give a specific date just yet. Depends on how tooling goes, if any tweaks need to be made, etc, etc. I will also need all new voice coils with taller formers.
  8. I am very excited... after the incredible success of getting a TON of stroke from the SA-8 v.2 it's now time to move up
  9. The frame renderings themselves are not ready to be shared yet but the cone body and surrounds are ready. Each surround has the following calculated geometric capacity : 10 -- 50mm one-way (frame allows 45) 12 -- 55mm one-way (frame allows 50) 15 -- 60mm one-way (frame allows 55) Therefore; each one has a 5mm cushion beyond what the frame can handle in it so the surround CANNOT reach the maximum geometric limit -- as this can cause stress and eventually tear the surround. We've taken note that no open tool / readily available surround can handle what some of our newer designs can dish out already... and future designs will be even more extreme on throw so these surrounds are made to handle anything we can dish out with the new frames. The foam material itself is also quite thick so it remains stable at such a massive size. Yes these surrounds are insanely large... but we do plan to use them to their full potential as time goes on so they are completely necessary and not just for looks. I am not aware of any surround other than the Earthquake HoleeS that has similar capacity (it's about the size of the surround on our 10" cone). Each cone fits the same dust cap as the Z v.3 15/18 and the SA-15 -- it is a "boob" cap as that design is stronger than the flatter dust caps we have used for years on the NS / older Z model subs. Also simplifies how many different dust cap we have to keep on hand. The cone body is also quite thick and will be very similar to the material of the Z v.3 18" cones now -- but we may vary the exact material distribution slightly to get a bit more stiffness from these. These will be used on the X Line, Z v.3 Line, and NS line woofers. We will eventually make 4" coil versions as well for future designs using the same surround just a different cone body. ----- Anton Miller did this rending in 3D of the 12" cone and surround :
  10. I did get some sketches done of our proprietary 18" frame... which will be the very last one done likely towards the middle of 2013. The frame itself measures about 10.5" deep and supports 6" of p-p excursion. That is all the details on it for now =) Expect some more information on the 10/12/15 models in the next month or so.
  11. The container should be in port at Charleston on April 7th -- we USUALLY get it less than a week after that. So cross your fingers Once they come in I'll bring in a few extra helpers to test them as fast as possible to get them out to customers.
  12. Sean's 150.8 dB from SBN.
  13. NS v.2 with the new NS v.3 yellow spider pack in place. As is typical with our drivers they are designed to handle around the rated power in free air so the ratings are a "worst case" conservative rating. As you can see this pack has no issues with the 2500D and the measured FS is still 37 Hz with only about 4-5 minutes of play time on it.
  14. The basket is 99% of the difference.
  15. NeoPro-8 models are now SOLD OUT. Also -- all NeoPro speakers will face a small price increase due to the Neo cost increases. The next run of NeoPro-8s will include 4 ohm models as well. We will have more in stock in June... the demand for these really snuck up on us exponentially rather than just a gradual increase so supply was literally pulled right out from under us! We should have more steady data on the demand in the future on these. New / Old Pricing : NeoPro-6.5 : $99 / NA NeoPro-8 : $105 / $99 NeoPro-10 : $129 / $115 The 10" has a much bigger piece of Neo in it so was more affected. If Neo goes back down in the future we'll adjust accordingly -- we may also offer an alternative Ferrite line for those that don't care about weight.
  16. NS v.3 spider packs are in... the spiders are like the Z v.3 units but with an extra layer -- and the 15/18 models have triple leads. These will be standard issue on NS v.3 and optional on other models. They are yellow to immediatly identify them as the NS stiffness pack (5 layers) as opposed to Z v.3 (4 layers). I may even bring in a 6 or 7 layer pack for dedicated SPL purposes. Currently we use NS v.1 / v.2 spiders for SPL purposes stacked to the appropriate level.
  17. Okay couldn't resist so I dropped two 2500s in and maxed it out : That was all she had -- any more and it would leave the gap. So I guess I didn't get my 150 but I'm not too sad over it
  18. Been here all weekend with customers and whatnot anyway... so decided to drop one in the Jeep real quick. The Jeep hasn't had much love lately and I was using it to haul scrap metal for a while (hence the wooden truck bed) but I decided to break it back out. One 4500D @ 1 ohm with one extra SPV-70 for battery. My box has a pretty high rise so probably seeing 3-4 ohms or so actual on the amp so not a ridiculous amount of juice yet. Sub still has a good bit of usable throw remaining. So I guess the next phase is to actually put in a more usable battery setup for multiple amps and use two amps at 0.5 ohm to get the sub to full stroke. Not sure yet if that will get done today as I've been at the shop way too much recently, haha. I think 150+ is do-able with it.
  19. Our standard models are always geared to music. SPL versions are what is optional -- we can do stiffer spiders and usually offer a more SPL oriented coil for most models.
  20. Original thread is closed as ordering has been shut down. They will be leaving our factory March 8th - 13th and arrival time is 25 - 35 days... so we will be from 1st to 2nd week of April which is a bit behind schedule but not too bad. We sold such a huge quantity it will probably take 2 weeks or more to get them all tested and shipped out. If any stock remains regular ordering will open back up after that point. We have to make sure that we have enough fully QC passing units to supply all currently paid pre-orders before taking any more orders. If you missed out... we have two more production runs scheduling for arrival in ~May and another for arrival in ~June-July but the pricing will be regular and not pre-order special.
  21. !!! PRE ORDERING IS CLOSED !!! Too many have been sold and we have to cut it off to make sure we have enough for everyone who already paid. If there are any remaining regular ordering will re-open a week or two after arrival. ETA is around the first week of April or so -- slightly behind schedule.
  22. Production is wrapping up -- here is a completed production unit : ETA is looking like end of March to first of April -- a hair off original ETA but not too bad assuming customs goes smoothly.
  23. Production is wrapping up :
