Sundown E8 Pre-Order #2
Could I bridge two channels and wire them parallel for 2 ohms? No you cannot bridge it at 2 ohms, it will not be reliable for the long term.

Sundown E8 Pre-Order #2
You could try 4 ohm stereo - they will sound pretty good with that power level. Really won't be worth the cost for custom coils.

Sundown Shallow Mid Prototype
Kind of on the back burner right now but we are still working on it.

Not without custom order coils. Would be pretty expensive.

Yes, they will have the part number for production

Prototype Big Boy SPL Motor
There will be no hurrying this one. I've decided that it will be a 4" coil so I will be starting all over with it... of course I will utilize many of the same principals that I learned in this design but the 4" coil calls for all new spiders, cones, baskets, etc. In the more near term (1Q 2009 I hope) the Nightshade is going to get a big brother Stay tuned for information on that in the coming weeks.

Awesome - how does it sound ?

which sundown amp for my tweeters
Do the 100.4 at 3 ohms - will provide you over 100 watts per channel. On high efficiency tweeters this will be enough to give you a terrible headache We have a 50.4 @ 8 ohms on just TWO selenium tweeters in Brandon's Bronco and it'll about kill you.

gain matching when strapping amps
Master controls both when strapped.

Sundown Audio T-Shirts
Add 10 dollars for AK should cover it.

Sundown sax-100.4
Correct, it will not like 17-18 volts. You can add a Kinetik Tri-Post battery and run it off the 12v post - thats one easy way to do it.

SAX-125.2
IIRC they are 12 dB crossovers - I'll check my notes @ the shop on Monday. The 100.2 has 18 dB but less functionality.

Building a new box for my 2 Nightshade 18"s
Glad to see everyone here As for the earlier question... 18" Nighshades are not full production yet - I expect to have more available within a month or so.

SAX-125.2
Looks like I'll add this to the pre-order madness shortly - the idea is very popular.

Sundown: SAZ-1500D vs. SAE-1000D
Dan, The 1000D would do nicely on a single SS RLP-D2 An awesome deal right now is the SAE-1200D -- they are on intro sale for $350 at an authorized dealer (SSA Included) and will give you lots of overhead and room to grow later if you upgrade subs

Building a new box for my 2 Nightshade 18"s
Yes sir - the "monster" sub box was only about 2.5 cubes after port and sub too

SAX-125.2
1) New style heat-sink 2) Upgraded power supply FETs 3) Upgraded crossovers with band-pass capability * 50Hz ~ 5KHz - LPF * 30Hz ~ 3KHz - HPF * 10Hz to 500Hz - Sub-Sonic * You use the sub-sonic and LPF together to band-pass crossover -- just like the 100.4
