I bet it is pretty sick - another Team Sundown guy came by with two 18s and two 3000s and it was pretty painful.

SAE-1200D Pricing Set
Indeed It is a good bit cheaper than the 1500D @ $629 MSRP. Also, not too much over the 1000D @ $429 MSRP. Obviously street pricing varies from that, but just for the sake of comparison I'm using MSRP.

Probably is fine - they have alot of excursion potential. Just realize that you have ALOT of power on tap and you are capable of reaching limits. A video would help as well

SAE-1200D Pricing Set
The SAE-1200D will have an MSRP of $499 USD. Once they arrive here at our warehouse we will have some intro sale action on them to get them out there in customers hands

Indeed - you are going to be tapping on the physical limits of the suspension in 5 cubes with a 3000D on each May be as simple as needing to slightly back off the gains and slightly raise the SSF.

If the wal-mart cable doesn't take care of it keep reading. Do you have an AC current clamp as well ? Then we can measure actual power with subs connected. May simply be driving the amps to the limit before protection at a certain frequency. Also, where is your battery voltage at when protection kicks in ?

Maybe you are pushing them to the limit in your enclosure ? You do have a bunch of power on tap. Box specs ?

I mean - are the subs connected when you are measuring the voltage. Also, where are you measuring the voltage ? You should be measuring from Master + to Slave + so it is across the pair. PS: Is your strapping RCA a "nice" RCA cable ? If so, get a really really cheap cable... cheapest you can find, and try that.

Yah, try RCAs first. Also - where are you measuring 100 volts ? Loaded or unload ?

remote gain on 100.4
It controls CH 3+4 when the LPF is turned on.

SAX-50.4
Correct - and yes, it will likely be impossible to swap. And yes, the 50.4 would become too large to be practical - as well as too expensive for many of the people that wanted it.
-
SAX-50.4
Chris, The 100.4D crossovers are ~1.5" longer than the 100.4C crossovers - so swapping in D revision for C revision is not possible. Length is another reason I don't want to use the D crossovers on the 50.4 as many customers that wanted it have very small space available too. On the 50.4 we would be talking an MSRP of $319 w/ the C revision and $399 w/ the D revision (it represents almost a 25% increase in build cost for the 50.4 model). It's a pretty huge difference... I will likely have to increase the 100.4D cost after the first run, as I can only absorb the 10% increase in build cost for so long. I am doing so to get more of the D revision units out there so people can see it is worth it.

Same case as the SAE-1000D but with fins under the face

100.4 issue
Could be from before we started QC testing them w/ the clamp meter on each channel. Before that we tested 100.4s and 100.2s bridged and without clamping the output you wouldn't know a channel was out as it still played. Pretty rare but a very few did ship with one messed up channel before we learned about the potential for one channel to be out. I am out of 100.4s so if you could send it directly to db-r with a copy of your invoice so he knows who owns the amp - I'll pay for your repair bill. Write a note on the invoice copy for Chris to contact me so I can take care of it. Sending direct to Chris will take almost a week off of the turn-around DB-R Electronics 11803 Schmidt Rd Waller, TX 77484

SAX-50.4
No - the 50.4 will not get all those crossovers, way too expensive. They added over 10% to my build cost on the 100.4 - I am keeping the cost the same for the customer for as long as I can on the 100.4D, though. It will have the SAX-100.4C crossovers. ... and the 50.4 will debut along with the new 100.4D

Want some E8s now ?
The new run I have in production will have the new parts.

Future Amplifiers
Playing around with the SAE-1200D a bit just testing maximum power, period. No regards to distortion we got up to the following: 43.3 Amps 46.7 Volts 1.08 Ohms Actual ---- 2022 Watts Any more and we would blow the fuses to pieces. Seems that the new transistors vs. the prototype did increase maximum power output. Just curious to see how far we could push it - this is not a test with regards to distortion at all, THD was probably well into the double digits here - well into clipping. Another lesson here... don't clip the crap out of 1200D on your 1200-watt driver, you will blow it to pieces It is very well in line with a TRUE 1200-watt (or more) rating on a 1 ohm nominal load on music material as well - I am excited to offer this amp to my customers soon.
-
Run the 3000D at .5 or at 2ohms?
Unless your MT has a stiffer than normal spider it will sound pretty good with 1500-2000 watts.

Working on improving SAX-100.4
Actually, I do:

Working on improving SAX-100.4
About 18-18.5" long, yes. The new crossovers take up quite a bit of board real estate.
