SAX-100.4 SQ?
What type of fan is it ? Looked into low RPM 120mm computer fans ?
-
For those of you who have the SAE-1000D and running 1ohm or 4ohms
Yep, either way is fine. The terminals are in parallel in the amp.

SAX-100.4 SQ?
It really depends on how hard you are on the amps if they will need a fan. If you just listen to music at typical levels I'd say no, if you like to play it very loud for extended periods I would install a fan.

Power testing my 1500D
If the coils haven't had time to heat up the rise will be the same at varying power levels - you can be sure that on the second burp the impedance rise should be higher on higher power due to thermal compression. But yes, you can use the lower power figures to map impedance rise. Just have someone watch the meters so they can get both figures at the same time and don't use the peak hold function. Did you get any SPL numbers?

Indeed Wait until he gets four new Sundown Nightshade 18s in there!

Price is not set at this time.

Prototype Big Boy SPL Motor
Sorry Robert - no way I'll have them this year We can talk about next year once I have all my testing done and all the final parts sourced and fully tested.

SAX-100.4 SQ?
All channels have the same power.

I will buy an 8" All kidding aside, do you have a weight on the motor? I mean, it is obviously huge, my guess is over 100lbs. My software predicts 91.4 pounds without a basket - we'll see how close it is when I get it

*laughs* Indeed, Ray, it's not going to be CRX friendly I expect that not many people will buy them smaller than 15s.

SAX-100.4 SQ?
Hmmm... looks like ROE did some database work, the thread # changed. This is the thread I linked before: http://forum.realmofexcursion.com/showthre...sundown+audison

For those of you who have the SAE-1000D and running 1ohm or 4ohms
You can wire the FI Q in parallel on the sub and run one set of wires to the amp - or you can run one set from each coil to each set of terminals and get the same result.

amp going into protect
If it was a bad connection before - it probably is again. Just check over very carefully.
-
For those of you who have the SAE-1000D and running 1ohm or 4ohms
Yep. Do you have the coils in parallel ON the sub ?
-
For those of you who have the SAE-1000D and running 1ohm or 4ohms
The terminals are in parallel inside the amp - so there is no difference either way.

For those of you who have the SAE-1000D and running 1ohm or 4ohms
You can use just one + and one - terminal.

Prototype Big Boy SPL Motor
I suppose if someone REALLY wanted a 10" I could build it... but I don't see why *laughs* two 10's have more cone area than a 12 but are normally classed togeather in comps based on cone area. plus you can give two subs more power than 1 equaling higher numbers The amount of BL for the moving mass and cone area is just going to be excessing with these motors on 10s, no need. If you want beefy 10s that you can actually mount I'd suggest custom Nightshade 10s when they are available.

amp going into protect
If you have them turned up too high the slave is generally the one to enter protection in a strapped pair. What impedance are the wired at ? Gain settings ? Any bass boost ?

I want a SUNDOWN1500
That was brought up on Termpro, and HiFonics is adamant that their board is higher quality: http://audioforum.termpro.com/cgi-bin/ubb/...c;f=20;t=013961 I'm not sure which story is true, just reporting what HiFonics has to say about it. I have not personally tested either so I can't take sides.

8s and 10s will not be made as the sub could not be mounted normally.

SAX 100.2 bridging
It is not a good idea to bridge the 100.2 lower than 4 ohms, it was not designed for that.

I got me some twins!
i still can't believe you tested these at 0.175ohms each.. and with good batteires you got over 5400 watts from them! not that i'll ever do that but wow!! I really don't suggest 0.175 to anyone for any reason I had a few SPL competitors do it, but I don't endorse that!
