  1. Building a different box for the WMDs ?
  2. Nice Scores
  3. Nice Just keeps on getting louder!
  4. 5-minute epoxy is stronger than the factory glue - when I assembled the prototypes by hand using the epoxy it didn't come off with an 800-watt burp. You really don't need to do much of anything for prep except get a bead around the landing and let it rest on top and dry. It is difficult to get it out of alignment as well - the surround is going to want to keep it centered. Sealing it off will bring the mechanical power handling back up for you.
  5. PS: You can do it if you want, or if you aren't comfortable I can do it.
  6. 5-minute epoxy from Lowes or Wal-mart will fix that up for you. In your IB alignment the mechanical power handling is substantially reduced - about half of the thermal RMS.
  7. I don't know if i missed it somewhere, but other than the heatsink how is the SAE different from the SAZ? I've read that the SAZ is a stronger design...I'm not sure how exactly, but this change is bringing about a lot of buzz...bottom line, if I ordered an SAE-1000d this month would I regret not waiting on the SAZ? You won't regret it. Changes are being made to the design to increase stability to loads under 1 ohm and voltages over 14.4 volts - so it will be a real SAZ amp. But, for most people running them at 1 ohm the difference will be negligible besides the cosmetic difference.
  8. If you are reasonable with the system and don't try to play it at 100% output for hours one end you will be just fine with a single 1500D or two 1000Ds for bass. Just pay attention to the voltage, if its dropping under 11 turn it down for a while.
  9. Depends... how much power do you want to run ? Stiffening subs up to handle more power mechanically takes away from the low-end (Fs goes up). I don't have an ETA for production on the 18s - some will be made custom at added cost since without having extra motors I will have to cut apart 12s to make them.
  10. 1500s have been on the market since 2006 - and some people have been running them at 1/2 ohm ever since. Just not covered by warranty.
  11. It's going to happen - I like the idea and so do most customers so far Probably around the end of the year.
  12. Two 1000s isn't really that much more current draw. In any event... for a music playing system you will be fine. You will strain the 160-amp alternator if you play all three amps at full output constantly, but most likely you won't be doing that
  13. Thanks guys Florida is nice so far... people gave me a few too many drinks (I'm a light weight) so this morning has been a bit rough *laughs* Turning 25, by the way!
  14. I have some ideas on the drawing board... in order to keep it small I'm looking into full-range Class-D for all five channels if practical and economical enough. Either way, I wouldn't just put two amps in one case - it would just be too big to fit for most people. I don't think a 5-channel will happen really soon - there are so many other things that need to get done first.
  15. Nice work Mark!
  16. Nice score Ray!
  17. It's on the drawing board - no final design has been decided on and there is no ETA.
  18. Yep, he is Scottie Johnson - you know, the guy with the really loud SPL vans He works for Powermaster.
  19. Tottie! I agree, Powermaster needs a forum Good stuff.
  20. I think it has more in it with some tweaking
  21. 11 days to go!
  22. Bulk discounts available... PM me if you want more than two!
  23. It's more aerodynamic, doesn't occupy box volume, and sometimes helps to get the phase alignment of the ports to woofer cones closer.
  24. That will be okay for music. Two 1500s can draw up to 320 amps but you will seldom be calling for that much power on music.
  25. Nope. DJ got it with everything loaded down! In fact... he wants 18" Nightshades to replace the MTs. he almost got to test some NS 18s infact He was looking at em' pretty hard But I didn't have four ready.
