Two 1500s and one 3000 draw about the same amount of current. I would guess towards the middle of August more than the beginning. It is difficult to say exactly as customs can hold things up for a few extra weeks or they might just pass it right through!

AQ's? Who are they made by? The stetsom site says the amps draws 480 amps. I am trying to stay 500amps or beneath that if I can help it. Maybe I will just go with two of the Orion HCCA-D5000 amps. They draw more than 480 amps at full output.

When doing so you actually need to use a spacer AND need to cut out the hole in the bottom of the basket larger (it is just big enough for the 3" coil to go through). I may experiment with that... the basket already has 6.75 mm spacers under it for cooling channels.

Depends on how they are built - they will range from average 18" box sizes to small box sizes depending on the spider selection. I've built them with anywhere from 3 to 5 spiders so far for the Team guys

Seems to hold really well spider to basket - but I used a different, more flexible, glue for the surround to basket. I'll be doing more testing with it... I have six more tubes to play with. Any chance I could convince you to sell me a tube... or even part of a tube? (enough to recone some 15's?) The flexible glue ? That stuff I feel is very proven... just as an experiment I re-coned a sub, including the spider landing, with the flexible glue... and dB-R uses it to test huge amps of 3kw or more and its holding the spider down too

It'll have to work Just back it up with plenty of battery power and pay attention to your voltage drop!

Thats not fun when your watching a video of the sub, blowing. But it looked VERY beastly in the videos, compared to the pics. *laughs* Indeed... I don't think many people would watch an hour long video of a sub playing 60 Hz!

It's not really much of a limit - has sufficient clearances to allow a good bit of travel - I'd have to measure but it has over an inch rearward. Obviously not as much clearance as the larger sizes of the same basket, but still a good bit. DD used it for the 9510 for years.

im sure all those 3000d sales helped alot! for the price i dont think people woudlnt buy them. i think jake should make a 4500-5000 watt amp instede of batts tho That is in the works Maybe, if we are lucky, next year.

Seeing excursion being used to describe a tweeter made me giggle. It matters for tweeters too - gives you the flexibility to cross-over lower and retain low distortion.

Should be good daily, actually. It would be an even better daily sub optioned out for lower power (eg: softer spiders). The eight I'd build for the extreme car would suck daily as they'll have concrete spiders and be designed with an Fs around 60 Hz.

Custom Nightshade 10... I am building it for a guy. May need to build 8 more later for an extreme SPL car to be used with 8x 3000Ds. That car does 159.6 with two 3000s and 8x SI BM 10s

Oddly enough... last month was the highest sales month since Sundown Audio started. Interesting considering the economy! --- As far as mids and tweeters... I have one of each in the works. No ETA... but here is a little teaser info. 6.5" mid... 2.0" deep... 8mm linear excursion one-way... response to 4.5-5khz 1" dome tweeter... tuned back chamber... ceramic dome... 2-4x linear excursion of most tweeters Both very low distortion, high-end, designs. I don't even have my prototypes yet so thats all I've got
