Vote for SAZ-1000D!
Well - I guess that settles it... after the next 100 or so SAE-1000Ds are sold they will become the SAZ-1000D and I'll start making preparations to build the SAE-800D.

Vote for SAZ-1000D!
Well if you put it that way, it seems silly not to do it. I am assuming the power supply and other major parts would get juiced up like the 1500D? Yep, several tweaks and upgrades would be made to the amp.

Vote for SAZ-1000D!
Yep... already talked to the factory about bumping up the transistors and whatnot in the 1000D to make it an SAZ level amp. That way I could still offer the small form amp - and even open it up to owners for the SAX-100.2 and SAX-100.4 - and be free to offer the less expensive SAE-800D model to those who don't care about the size.

E8 and 1000d
As I'm sure you know gains @ 3/4 doesn't necessarily mean power at 3/4 level. And no, they wouldn't have a problem with 750 watts - four can use 800 watts which is 4/5 of the rated power of the amp.

E8 and 1000d
If you set the gains properly it will work fine. I use a 1000D in my Dad's truck for a pair, you can use up to four on the 1000D. You will be able to cause damage to the drivers with the amp at full blast, so be sure to adjust accordingly.

Yep...
So I signed back up @ a gym on Monday - I've been so busy for about a year or so working out has been spotty at best. Decided to suck it up and start going again... the gym is open until 10 at night so I can manage to make it in, at least for an hour if I can pry myself away from my e-mails at night. Went pretty easy compared to what I used to do on Monday for chest and triceps and dead lifts (cardio too)... got up very sore Monday. Well, enter today... very painful to move *laughs* Thats what I get for slacking for so long. Triceps are the worst... can barely straighten my arms out, chest is pretty sore... and my lower back is surprisingly sore considering I only did 1/2 of what I normally used to do on dead-lifts (didn't go past 225 on Monday). But yes... back in the game! Went again Tuesday and took it a bit easier on biceps and lats so I could move around and test amps and speakers today

SAE-1000D Questions
I have some ideas for making link pieces sometime next year - perhaps even adding optional fan cooling channeled through the fins under the face of the amps.
-
SAE-1000D Questions
It actually would be since the basic board would be the same - one would just have to adjust the amp within the limits of the SAE amp connected.
-
SAE-1000D Questions
Seems that this is a popular idea so far

SAE-1000D Questions
Yep, thats the plan. May even do an SAE-500D later on for the even lower powered crowd.

SAE-1000D Questions
Another option... Continuing the current SAE-1000D board as an SAZ-1000D with accompanying upgrades to make it an SAZ class amp (and, of course, the SAZ case). Then coming out with the SAE-800D model to fill in the SAE line at that power level. That way the SAZ line has a smaller sub amp, people that want the small foot-print still get it, and I also have the less expensive model available for those that don't care about the size.

ah Ok would it be safe to assume that the longer coil handles more power than the shorter version? Of course - more metal / surface area to dissipate heat. The "short" coil handles plenty of power, though, the only issue people have is that they jump it out of the gap with a bunch of power. You simply can't do that with the long coil.

They are all on the shop computer - would probably be just as fast for you to download them from my site and then upload them.

I took the dust cap off the 18 then plugged it into the wall socket... after about 15 minutes of testing wide open on a 1500D, so it was already pretty hot. I had the cap off to examine the triple joint... and, as a note, removing the cap diminishes thermal handling quite a bit as the cap forces air over the back of the coil and in and out of the pole. Uploading video... I'll link em tonight.
