  1. Yep, you can call them and ask for Scottie.
  2. The 100.4 is a bit underrated and is good for around 115 x 4 watts. If you can't get an HO alternator it is simply a bad idea to run 6000 watts regardless of amplifier brand, impedance load, etc. A factory alternator simply won't be effective at all with that sort of current draw. You will probably need to have your factory alternator re-wound.
  3. That HO alternator is a MUST, especially with two 3000Ds. You are looking at the potential to draw 600 amps of current at full blast so be sure to look into THE biggest alternator you can get - preferably 300 amps, or perhaps dual 200-amp units if possible. As for the battery bank, definitely go for four of the HC2000s. If size is less concern than price then look at DEKA Intimidators as well, you can get the G-31 Intimidators pretty cheap and dollar for dollar they will out perform the HC2000, but they are larger. And yes, I always suggest simply running the amps at 1 ohm - they are more efficient and carry warranty coverage.
  4. Many people do so without issues - but, there is no warranty. Also, never count on impedance rise for a daily system.
  5. You can't hear a difference - I just like these particular Scosche cables since they have a strong jacket that is hard to damage and plugs that never cause issues with any amps
  6. Yah... Monster as a company blows, but those cables work well. Basically an example... similar cables work nicely. I have Scosche EFX in the truck and on the test bench. walmart! These are nicer Scosche cables, not sure if you can get them @ wal-mart.
  7. Yah... Monster as a company blows, but those cables work well. Basically an example... similar cables work nicely. I have Scosche EFX in the truck and on the test bench.
  8. Seems to hold really well spider to basket - but I used a different, more flexible, glue for the surround to basket. I'll be doing more testing with it... I have six more tubes to play with.
  9. You can buy it from glue suppliers Alternatively Nick @ IA will probably sell you some.
  10. I don't have anything in the pipe that would be suitable as an NS-2000D model. The currently planned SAZ-2000D is basically a larger 1500D so wouldn't fit in the "NS" line. Perhaps down the line I may do so, though.
  11. Authorized sale on SAZ-1500Ds for the month of June! $425 shipped from your favorite Authorized Sundown Audio dealer - OR direct from Sundown Audio, your choice! To purchase an amp either contact you dealer of choice (they will be updating their sites shortly with the sale pricing) or send a Paypal to [email protected] These are all brand new amplifiers with new style heat-sinks and full warranty!
  12. The 3000D isn't going anywhere. Although, this model may be released under a different line... perhaps Nightshade amps

    Congrats
  14. Indeed it is
  15. Kinda Still plays but its certainly not 100%
  16. Conclusions so far... 1) This glue is very strong. 2) It is not suitable for adhering to spiders at the triple joint. Why? Well, due to it's thickness it doesn't soak into the spider material well and pulls away from the spider at the triple joint. So, for this application regular CA glue or a thinner epoxy would be best. I played the 18" driver free air with a 1500D pushed well into clipping - did not break the driver but it began to make funny sounds as the glue at the triple joint was not connected to the spiders any longer. As a testament to the strength of the glue the driver has stayed together simply by the glue adhering to the former and not letting the assembly slide off. So... it looks like this glue may be best suited for the top triple joint @ the cone / former assembly and for holding on the stiffening disc. Back to the drawing board for a glue to replace CA for the triple joint
  17. I'll just post them up for sale later on today and anyone who wants them can order some
  18. We'll see how the glue experiment holds up starting Monday
  19. Great! Looking forward to hearing more thoughts on them
  20. Gonna do some more testing on it next week now that the dust cap glue has set fully (the black glue takes 24 hours).
  21. *laughs* I'm not really worried about hiding it behind the cone, you really won't be seeing it. The other sizes meet up @ the cone / spider joint as well so there isn't a big joint like the 18s.
  22. I'll work on the packing a bit more next time around just to be sure.
  23. There is something strange about the tooling owner of the 18" 12-spoke... I think the guys @ Fi would be able to tell you more about it. As for me, I was able to acquire the 6-spokes much easier for the small custom run of 18s.
