  1. * SAE-800D, SAE-50.4, SAE-1200D * SAE-800D, SAE-50.4, SAE-1200D, SAX-1200D * SAE-1200D * SAE-50.4 * SAE-800D * 800D / 1200D * SAE-50.4 ----- The 800D did well and exceeding ratings but wasn't really THAT much stronger than the 500D -- so I likely will not end up making it. The 500D will be named 600D based on the testing results from it (over 700 after impedance rise). The SAE-1200D did very well, though, and is pretty much on par with the SAX-1200D in terms of power but not quite as small in size. So far what I have pricing worked out is like this : SAE-600D -- $200 MAP SAE-1200D -- $285 MAP SAE-50.4 -- $155 MAP Pricing from an authorized dealer. Testing on the amps so far : SAE-500D: 740 watts @ 2.16 ohms after rise (1.0) 860 watts @ 1.54 ohms after rise (0.5) SAE-800D: 810 watts @ 2.23 ohms after rise (1.0) 990 watts @ 1.60 ohms after rise (0.5) SAE-1200D: 1200 watts @ 2.51 ohms after rise (1.0) 1540 watts @ 1.68 ohms after rise (0.5) No testing on the 50.4 unit yet. --- These are NOT production cases -- just have not tooled ours yet. I do NOT have the ETA yet -- just sharing early data
  2. The video... super boring but here as a reference to the data.
  3. I will upload the video soon... will take a while as it's 9+ minutes long but the results really speak for themselves. We compared against a very well respected 2.5" coil driver rated for 600-watts RMS -- many people do run much more than that to this particular driver. The comparison was done simply to give a reference point. I was wondering if it was just me or if I wasn't even tickling this driver thermally with 800+ watts on tap in my car (SAX-200.4 two channels bridged at 2 ohms)... so the question is now answered -- I really wasn't even close to the thermal limits as this 60 Hz test is brutal with very little excursion. On music where the sub is moving 4-5x more the cooling is enhanced by more air movement. So that answered the question about whether my little spacer ring is or is not doing what I wanted it to do  So what this tells me is that I'll probably bump up my official rating to 500 RMS on the SA-8 v.2 -- and that the limit is really purely mechanical on them. I CAN get it to full x-mech on the 200.4 in my car at very low frequencies under box tuning.
  4. I am starting production this week... which would put them in last February to early March for arrival.
  5. It's essentially impossible to "bottom out" the SA-12 -- you can get the suspension to "pop" if you hit the maximum level of throw which is going to be over an inch one-way If it's more of a tick check if your screws are backing out of the box -- an air leak can appear as a tick.
  6. We have our 1500s back in stock so if you have pervasive problems we can simply replace it all together.
  7. I don't recall the specifics... did your amp go to dB-R or us ? If it didn't go to us at all I'd like to test it out on our bench.
  8. I still enjoy sealed -- I typically like very low F3 drivers, though, which either require a good bit of juice or a big box. 95% of my customers do run ported, though, for reference
  9. First Klippel graph is in from Red Rock. This sample is offset a bit but thanks to this data we'll make sure they are properly centered on production Suspension turned out quite flat, linear x-max beat FEA prediction, and Le graph is very good as well. I am still tweaking the absolute CMS value as well as coil length to determine the final production spec... but it's very close!
  10. It is a stock NS v.2 coil -- so yes we have it. We sell certain parts but not all of them.
  11. The 10" plays perfectly this morning -- and I'm sure the customer will abuse test it well I may end up needing stiffer packs for him but I think this will do nicely based on what Derrick did to a 12" with this pack in his explorer.
  12. I would first take the board totally out and make sure nothing is touching the case -- and from there we can probably help find some parts. I do have a few complete 1200D v.2 boards still as well.
  13. I am awaiting our new frames to produce the Monster... not sure on the time frame yet. It is too heavy for a standard frame.
  14. * NS v.2 Coil + Triple Joint Ring * Extra large terminals in place * Epoxy on top We'll test it out tomorrow to see if all goes well. I am expecting so but still have a few more ideas if it's still not quite up to what I want from it
  15. Spider spacer is in : * The top ledge was designed to hold a bead of epoxy around the spider to keep it secured under high power.
  16. Correct. Used 4500s typically go for 850 - 1000 or so on the forums depending on condition. They are still a very good quality amp -- but being used immediately drops a big portion of product value for re-sale; just like the above mentioned car analogy.
  17. I've yet to do an RTA on it... sounds pretty damn good, though. Once I tune it down a bit I'll do a response graph on it.
  18. Some videos up finally :
  19. Uploading a few videos... so far on music in the 132-133 dB range on the dash and in the kick panel sealed and window / door open (all about the same) peaking at 40 or so Hz on the song I was using. Will do some more testing tuning the PR down as well in the near future. To me it sounds more like a higher SPL due to how well it handles material down into the 30s and I'm more than happy with it for all of my daily listening. I will definitely recommend these PRs officially for the SA-8s from now on.
  20. I got a first look @ the spider spacer... shop had to make some adjustments but should be able to get cracking on these again tomorrow or Wednesday.
  21. In a car you have high current and low voltage supply -- which in turn makes designing amps around outputting higher current and less voltage much easier / less expensive. In a home you have high voltage and low current -- so amps are designed for that. You CAN reverse the roles in either environment but it makes things more expensive.
  22. Okay - I am going to start production next week... and the 6.5" will be in 8 ohm OR 4 ohm configuration (which will eventually show up on 8s and 10s).
  23. SA style boxes will work well for them : http://www.sundownaudio.com/pdfs/SA_Series_Manual%2810-12-15%29.pdf
  24. How much interest is there in these 6.5" ? I am working on getting pricing and details together... if we can pre-sell a good bit of them I may do them sooner than later before Neo gets any crazier.

Correct, they do. You can also get re-built ones : http://www.caraudio.com/forums/subwoofer-classifieds/521553-re-coned-sa8s.html
