SAZ-2000D
Indeed - the 2000D is still a good bit away - the end of the year is likely about right. It is actually quite different from the IA 20.1 design - it's more like a scaled up SAZ-1500D.

Electrical System info
Thats really not even close w/ a stock alternator. If you had 300-400 amps of alternator to back it up that will work just fine, though We have a 200-amp and a 250-amp Excessive Amperage alternator on my friends Bronco and with one 3000D we can dip the voltage down to 11.8 volts w/ a Kinetik 2400 and a Powermaster D3100 when the vehicle is idling with the amp at full tilt. Driving around at 2000 RPM or more it does stay above battery voltage at pretty much all times. You can imagine if we had only 130-amps of alt capacity vs. 450-amps that it would quickly drop to the low 11s with only one 3000D.

SAX 100.2 bridging
At a low THD 125 x 2 is about right at average car voltage - at 14.4v / 1-2% it can be as high as 140 per channel.

SAE-1000D Questions
I would estimate that the SAE-800 (larger size) would have an MSRP price of around $299 - 349 (depending on my final import costs). In my testing it is a solid amp - any potential failures are very easy and cheap repairs as well - I drove the proto into failure and had it ready to roll again for about 8 dollars in parts. It took 2 months of grueling testing to finally find any weak points with the SAE-1200D (about 2 dollars in parts repair). Then we discovered that the test conditions are so harsh that even a 3000D will go into protection in this setup! So I have a good feeling about the long-term reliability of the SAE-1200D and anything else I do with the new build house in the SAE line. And yes, I normally do try to break things when testing them

SAE-1000D Questions
Indeed, the SAE line will get it's own multi-channel amps down the line.

sundown SAX100.4 2 ohm bridged stable?
Hopefully with enough time you can convince them of the quality

E8 Pre-Order / Intro Sale
Nope, I have not - should work just fine though.

SAE-1000D Questions
That is correct - the SAE line will be moving over the China. The current SAE-1000D (South Korean) will be sold at least for another couple hundred amps.

SAX 100.2 bridging
500 watts @ 4 ohms bridged is about average. His "3 ohm" load is very nearly an actual 4 ohm load, I think JL calls it 3 ohms more for marketing than anything. The D2 Nightshade is 2.92 ohms in series (4 ohms nominal) and his woofer is only 14% less than that.

The smaller front chamber will equal less of a peak around tuning.

E8 Pre-Order / Intro Sale
Not really - it depends on the size of the box as the only real limit you'll hit is mechanical. If you hear a funny sound back down the gain a bit

Everyone keep it civil There are different ways to go about being loud - eg: my truck is around 5:1 - but other people do it other ways and are very loud as well.

SAE-1000D Questions
I would change the current 1000D to 800D as well - call it "800Ds" if I continued to offer it alongside. So the small amp wouldn't have a bigger number on it. The "800D" would cost from 50-100 less on MSRP than the current SAE-1000D model - pending final cost analysis. The power output is close, but the "800D" does produce a bit more power. Essentially, they used the extra components more to spread the load out than to increase power output.

Nightshade T/S Specs
Sd = 810 cm^2 Linear x-max by overhang is 16mm, by 70% BL is around 20 mm - and raw throw is pretty well to basket limits.

Gonna be a bit - at least for full production.

SAE-1000D Questions
You may be surprised about how many of my customers do have standard cab pickups and/or extended cab pickups I suppose I could just continue to offer the current model until I work out something with the new build house - it is just going to take a while.

SAX 100.2 bridging
This was with a 1.9 ohm DCR - the JL is about 2.5 ohms, which is quite a bit higher. The 100.2 is also a more robust design - whereas the 100.4 splits up 12 power supply FETs for four channels the 100.2 has the same amount for two channels. This is one reason the 100.2 is more under-rated than the 100.4 is. So, you'll be fine - just set your gains accurately with a DMM and don't continually clip the amp.

It sounds good with lower power - we have three with 400 watts each in my friends vehicle and it's incredibly loud (he will be adding more power later on). I thought about picking one up now and running my memphis 1000D on it till i can get a saz1500 to run it, Im currently running one Fi 15 q off that memphis in a 3.2 tunned to 32 in the trunk of my civic, how would one of these compair? Should be louder. So it should be louder in about the same size box and same amp im running my 15 fi q to? I just want to make sure 1000 rms would be fine for now, it might be a while before i can get a saz1500. Yep, your box is good for the NS 15" - wouldn't really need to change it at all. And yes, 1000-watts will be just fine.

SAE-1000D Questions
I'll put some thought into it... may still offer the current SAE-1000D as an alternative "small form factor" model at a higher price than the 800D since it does cost more to build.

SAE-1000D Questions
Still not huge... but it would be about 16" long vs. the 11.5" now. The issue is the new build house is not liking the idea of doing a small amp. It may take quite a while to work something out. IMO... I like bigger amps. I like the fact that this amp has two transformers and more MOSFETs. Sure, the current amp can do about the same power in a smaller size - but I'm always a fan of more stuff inside to split up the load Of course, in the end, its up to the customer.
