Sundown E12 Driver
Just like the E8 they will take ~3 months or so to come in after production starts. So if you will be in the market around 3 months from now let me know so I can really gauge interest!

Sundown E12 Driver
If Ricky and Jerry get back w/ me and really want to do some big builds with them I will push production to an earlier date.

8 inch woofer?
MSRP around 100 dollars. I'll have an intro sale for ~65 shipped when they come in.

a question about power output
That means you will drop below alternator voltage to battery voltage rather quickly - then you are relying on your battery bank to keep you above 12 volts. For two 3000s running full tilt you will run out of juice pretty fast - of course, most music won't continuously draw that level of current so with a 300 amp and a very solid bank you will do okay most of the time.
-
Some questions about a refurbed SAE-1000D
Yep, the official rating is stated for 13.8 volts - but the amp exceeded that at 12.5 volts when tested. As for the refurbished models - Chris @ db-r repairs them with all original parts, so they work like new.

Sundown E12 Driver
Not sure yet - testing interest to see if I should move these up to a higher priority on production.

From: 5000-watt Amp Thread
A few takers so far. Remember, if the list is not full by the end of May this won't be happening for 2008.

Sundown E12 Driver
WAY too heavy for this driver.

Sundown E12 Driver
yeah yeah im ready put me down for 4 of them... i just spoke with my chick she wants 2 and i want 2.. so four you said 300 rms? and thay are d4s? so for a pair of these an sae 1000 would be a perfect match? 1000D for the pair would work nicely, just keep it turned back a few notches An SAX-100.2 would also work on a pair quite well.

Sundown E12 Driver
Considering offering an intro sale on these for around $100 - how many would be interested? MSRP will be around $150 - 160 on these when released.

Sundown Entry Level Woofer
Since we have drifted off and now we are talking about a different sub I'm going to close this thread and make one for the E12 as it is now Whenever the A12 is ready I'll make another for it as well.

Sundown Entry Level Woofer
Yes, that was with the driver that this thread was originally about - which will be called the A12 when released (was to be the E12 originally, but plans for E line changed). The E12, what we are now talking about, is a different driver (as pictured on this page). In any event... yes, the box was technically sealed. But... it's sitting inside that wall and it makes a 4th order band-pass, the sealed box is like a tiny back chamber and the wall is like a huge front chamber. The main focus of the testing was to find where power compression occurred and to abuse test it.

Sundown Entry Level Woofer
Production hasn't started - and I would do an intro sale, rather than a pre-order, so you would have plenty of time to get some money together.
