  1. So far we have zero takers out of over 70 votes across the two forums Maybe I should set a deadline for the list to form or scrap the idea.
  2. Expect to support 500 amps of current draw to achieve full output on a "12 volt" system. This means, as correctly stated above, a 300-amp alternator with at *least* two Group 31 batteries such as the Powermaster D3100s. Anyone trying to run one of these on a weak electrical setup voids their warranty - I will need evidence of electrical upgrades for the 6-month warranty.
  3. The 3000s around around 30 lbs each, they feel heavier but that is the actual weight.
  4. It will feature dual power connectors. Length will be under 40" - it will be a wider amp. I cannot give you much on weight as it requires a new heatsink tool for the width... just assume quite a bit, likely ~40 pounds.
  5. JybFan04, What kind of specs can we expect? @ 12 volts? --- Roughly as follows: ~4000 @ 13 volts ~5000 @ 14 volts ~7000 @ 18 volts Factory rated specs. As with the 3000D these are quite likely conservative at the lower voltages as we have found that the 3000Ds produce 3000 watts down to very low voltages.

Here is the deal... 5000-watt amplifier (SAZ-5000D) Factory rated specifications: ~4000 @ 13 volts ~5000 @ 14 volts ~7000 @ 18 volts As with the 3000D these are quite likely conservative at the lower voltages as we have found that the 3000Ds produce 3000 watts down to very low voltages. --- $1200 pre-order pricing ($2199 MSRP) 6 month standard warranty * 2 year discounted replacement warranty ** * - Not warrantied for 1/2 ohm operation - this is a given but I want to spell it out just in case. ** - Meaning if you blow it up you will get a replacement at a discount after sending in the blown amp - but it will not be a free replacement / repair like the standard warranty. Discounted replacement cost is $400 flat rate in the continental 48 states (plus shipping otherwise). --- Why the shortened warranty? If the amp works for 6 months it's pretty well not a manufacturing problem - it comes down to abuse, misuse, or poor installation. Anyone buying a 5k amp is probably going to push it to the edge, use it for competition, etc. If you are 100% interested then reply to this thread with your real name, e-mail, and how many you want. Once I get a list together of 40 people I'll start taking deposits of $250 that will not be refundable unless the pre-order is canceled (you can't just change your mind). Once all 40 deposits are collected to cement the list in place then the balance of $950 is due, there will be a date by which the remaining balance is due - so be sure you will have the money available before signing on and giving the deposit. I suggest having ALL of the money available before signing up for the deposit so you KNOW you won't miss the due date. The amps will take about 60-90 days to be produced after all funds are collected. Afterwards there will be more in regular stock but the pre-order price will no longer be available. Protos = expensive... the last proto driver I brought in from overseas cost me over $300 for a driver that will cost less than that retail MSRP. --- bose, I actually am working on more than that - but I try not to talk about everything or I'd get 100s of e-mails a day asking about stuff that won't be out for a year or two Learned my lesson about talking about stuff to early already.

  19. Looks to be pretty well dead even here... the 5k is a more affordable model and something I would be more comfortable keeping in stock. My vote sits with the 5k. My section over at Steve Meade's forum is also 16 votes 5k to 5 votes 7k... So, it looks as if the 5k is more likely so far.

I told them I didn't really want to make one larger than the 3000D at this time, but upon insistence about it I posted this offer up. If enough people get together to make it happen, it will.   21. Okay, my estimate was about right on the 7k amp. Roughly $2499 MSRP price tag. Pre-Sale pricing would weigh in around 1600 (exact number pending) or so each for the 7k making it cheaper per watt than the 3000 or 1500 for those that pre-order. This amp would be producing anywhere from 9 - 10k on a strong 16-18 volt bank. Team members would need to contact me about their pricing. --- As for the warranty on the 7k. This would be it: 1) Fully tested before shipment to not be DOA. 2) No guarantee beyond that if ran under 1 ohm, period. 3) 90-day regular warranty. 4) 1-year discounted replacement warranty. --- Quite an expensive unit here - how many would still be interested? --------- The 5k would weigh in around 1250 on the pre-sale. Being a slightly more "rational" amplifier I would be comfortably offering a 6 month warranty on it and 2-years discounted replacement. --------- Why the short warranty? If the amp works for 3-6 months it's pretty well not a manufacturing problem - it comes down to abuse or mis-use. I have been VERY reluctant to offer a larger amp than the 3000D for the simple fact that almost nobody can supply the needed current to properly run such an amp. These are the terms necessary for me to do so - if there is interest, I'll do it. If there is not, I won't.

  23. 50 Hz is fine, just set the LPF all the way up and the subsonic all the way down when setting the gain to make sure it doesn't interfere with the test frequency. After setting the gain adjust those how you want them.
  24. It won't be a strapped board amp, it will be a purpose built single PCB amp. Either way... 5k or 7k... the amp won't be cheap and will be massive. I will also have to tool a new heatsink for it as anything bigger than the 3k has to be wider - I will make it the same style just bigger.
