  1. Once the warranty policy is determined there will be no exceptions - I can't keep track of who has what for every amp. That being said I have not 100% settled on what the policy will be for these monster amps.
  2. Poll added for 5000D vs. 7000D.
  3. Also... 5000D or 7000D ? Which would be the best match for most people wanting these ?
  4. Put some thought into it... The biggest reason I do not want to release an amp this big has been address - 99% of people will not be able to support even one electrically. Having these come back under warranty would be very costly to Sundown Audio. How about a warranty against DOA and a 30-day warranty thereafter? I have also considered a replacement warranty under the "discount replacement" plan where I can replace the amp a certain cost that would be less than what the person paid originally - if they decide they don't want to send it in for repairs.
  5. Set it around 28 volts at max usable HU volume.
  6. I agree... I couldn't get him to budge about it on the phone a while back. Hopefully this will com about. Im down. seriously... I can ONLY do it under the stipulations posted... 30-40 up front pre-orders is what it would take.
  7. I would say 9k would be an under-statement for such an amplifier on a 16-volt system, likely over 10k. Remember that current draw still goes up even as voltage does as well, you are looking at 800-900 amps at that point to get full output.
  8. haha thats an understatement, if someone honestly thinks they can run 7k on a stock elctrical they deserve a slap in the face. i won't need that much power, but good idea i guess, or you could go all out make an amp compareable to the kicker warhorse. *laughs* I suppose it's true that no matter how big you get people want bigger Lets talk about a 7k first before getting carried away... I'm not even sure there is enough interest to make this happen.
  9. I won't throw out any cost estimates yet - if cost scales to power output I would expect around $2499 MSRP on it. Obviously if I put together a pre-sale those that go in will get an excellent deal since they will have to wait for a few months.
  10. Also... if this amp is made I will have a very strict requirement for warranty - 300+ amp alternator output minimum or you are on your own. An amp this size WILL be able to draw 700+ amps of current. If you think you need something this big be prepared to install dual alternators and a several batteries. This would NOT be the amp to install on anything resembling a stock electrical setup.
  11. I had not even considered a bigger amp for 2008 but my Team Sundown guys seem to REALLY want a larger amp.
  12. For this to happen I need the following: 1) At *least* 30-40 pre-orders for them. 2) Paid up front 3) Willing to wait 60-90 days to receive the amps Otherwise it won't happen any time soon. If enough people are interested I'll work out pricing and post it up and start a list. A deposit would be required to sign on to the list and full payment required once the list is filled. If the list is not filled then deposits would be refunded.
  13. Still tossing around the idea of the driver in this thread - I really did like it quite a bit It's one of the few protos of anything I've actually held onto for a long time. It would probably go by a different name, as the E series designation will be filled by a bit beefier driver. Will keep this thread updated with any news.
  14. Just waiting on an update on if they have shipped or not.
  15. I wouldn't say either of those really describes it... more like an SPL sub that sounds decent daily as loudcav suggested.
  16. This is something I have noticed with my bench power supplies... once I trip the break quite a few times it trips easier.
  17. Cool, congrats again!
  18. If you wang on it hard enough it'll trip a 250 amp breaker - step up to a 300 amp breaker.
  19. They are new.
  20. Cool, congrats guys! Seems that you both keep improving every time
  21. Great review!
  22. Ouch.. Bottom row of my enlcosure is only 6" deep. Maybe I will look into the SD-1 V2. Really wanted to do 4- 18" Nightshades later but this build is becoming so much work I aint pulling it out for a while. Any idea as to when the 12" model of the Sd-1 V2 will release? Not sure, but it should fit your depth requirement of less than 6 inches
