Sundown @ SBN
Yep, I'll be there! My truck is not ready for the show.

How much power do these pull?
Matt, For an actual music application you can figure that it will *usually* be a good bit lower than what you get by adding up all the fuses. The multi-channels, especially, since they will be high-passed and the high energy sound (low frequency) is being cut out.

First Pair of Sundown Audio Nightshade 15's (PICS)
I like the bling basket So it matches the amp color scheme, black (cone) to silver (basket) to black (motor).

Working on it! Thanks to UPS Freight and their broken down trucks I didn't get them Wednesday. Changed to another carrier and I may still be able to get them in today and start shipments Monday.

Glad you are happy with it

Shredding Speakers
I gotcha, I do plan to get alignment checked. It is just one front tire and the pressure is higher than stock.

8 inch woofer?
Production has already started, I'll post an ETA when I get something solid. There will be a pre-order so anyone that wants them can get them.
-
8 inch woofer?
I'd say 12 in^2 per ft^3 would work just fine.
-
8 inch woofer?
I want them too, cool little drivers
-
8 inch woofer?
Nothing of note yet, they are being built.

Shredding Speakers
It's a 4th order -- so the rear chamber pretty well keeps it under mechanical control (10 cubes for four 18s). Just a matter of too much abuse over time I think

My impressions of the next-gen SI Mag 12
I agree with Jim, it is a very real sounding driver!

Not getting 1000 watts out of my SAE-1000D
it goes from -6 to +6... 0 is right in the middle. In order to get decent pre-out voltage from your unit try setting it to +6 -- that is probably where the unit actually puts out 2 volts. Try that and let us know!

Not getting 1000 watts out of my SAE-1000D
Hook any amp up and measure it on a sub in a box with a 1 ohm nominal load and you aren't likely to see the full rated power at all frequencies -- as mentioned, there is impedance rise. At your measurement frequency the amp is not seeing a 1 ohm load. How do the sub adjustments on your HU work? Is zero the lowest or the highest?

Good luck with the new setup!

Wow Looking forward to some new numbers!

David @ RE is on the case for my re-cone! I'd really like to figure out why my tire is wearing unusually on the truck before I drive it too far as well.
-
Sae-1000D at .5ohms??
It has been done but I don't suggest it due to no warranty coverage or support for that load.

Shredding Speakers
*laughs* I wonder Four guys are getting them.

Shredding Speakers
I won't have enough left for me after the Team guys get them. I plan to re-build the wall for different size woofers anyhow

Shredding Speakers
Yah, coil was okay until the cone came apart

Yep... we got it good.
