  1. Jacob, wouldn't the 3000D at 1ohm essentially put out the same power as two 1500D's bridged into 1ohm or run separately into .5ohm each? Not trying to be a smart ass, just curious why two 1500D's would put out more power into comparable loads. The 3000D does about the same at 1 ohm as 1500Ds bridged at 2 ohms, or 1 ohm per amplifier. When the 1500Ds are dropped to 1/2 ohm each (1 ohm strapped) then they will definatly do more power than a 3000D at 1 ohm. If you dropped the 3000D to 1/2 ohm then it would be very close again.
  2. Shipped prices are to the continental 48 states. Paypal ONLY unless I authorize another form of payment ahead of time. ---------- 1) Set of very nice passive crossovers. I had these made in 2003 and never used them... designed for a 4 ohm mid and an 8 ohm tweeter along with 0 db and -3dB positions for the tweeter. Originally made for VIFA PL 4.5" and Audax TM025F1 with a crossover point of around 3.5khz or so at 12 dB per octave. Yes, those are 12 gauge copper foil inductors that you see. Inductors alone are valued at: 2x 0.5 mH 12 awg @ $56.60 2x 0.68 mH 12 awg @ $66.30 These also have Solen Poly Capacitors... very high quality crossover designed with LEAP at Madisound. Cost me well over $200 with design services and shipping. PRICE IS $100 shipped --------- 2) TC-9 Based 12" Subwoofer PRICE IS $150 shipped Used for testing purposes. Nice deep bass woofer. Dual 2 ohm coils, 3" diameter coil, have tested up to 4kw burps. Fs = 29.8 Hz Qes = 0.4215 Qms = 4.4312 Qts = 0.3849 VAS = 32.15 L ---------- 3) TC-9 Based 15" Subwoofer PRICE IS $150 shipped Used for testing purposes. Nice deep bass woofer. Dual 2 ohm coils, 3" diameter coil, have tested up to 4kw burps. Fs = 27.3 Hz Qes = 0.3948 Qms = 3.3876 Qts = 0.3536 VAS = 152.9 L ---------- 4) SAZ-1500D #1 (please refer to them by number) PRICE IS $475 shipped The only thing wrong with this one is a damaged cosmetic carton... it got hit with a fork lift. I won't sell something with a mangled carton to a dealer as a new amp, so here it is as b-stock. It is tested to work fine and does include full warranty like new. ---------- 5) SAZ-1500D #2 (please refer to them by number) PRICE IS $450 shipped This one has its knobs off center. Sometimes they will be off a very small amount, around 1/16" -- and that is within a tolerance. These are way off... they can still be turned but I caught this one before I sent it out. It is tested to work fine and does include full warranty like new. ---------- 6) SAZ-1500D #3 (please refer to them by number) PRICE IS $450 shipped One of the input RCA connectors on this amp is incredibly tight. You can see in the photo, the lower left connector... notice how it looks a bit different inside. This makes it VERY hard to insert and remove an RCA cable. It is tested to work fine and does include full warranty like new... but be advised that the RCA connector is VERY tight. ---------- I also have the following not pictured: 3x SAX-100.4 : Two B-Stock ($350 shipped each) and One Refurbished ($300 shipped) 1x SAZ-1500D : Refurbished ($425 shipped) 1x SAE-1000D : Used for 20 minutes for power testing thread ($275 shipped) ---------- I will offer package deals: 4x SAZ-1500Ds @ $400 each ($1600 total) SAZ-1500D + TC-9 Woofer @ $550 shipped SAE-1000D + TC-9 Woofer @ $375 shipped SAZ-1500d + SAX-100.4 @ $700 shipped ---------- Get em' while they last.
  3. It would require a specially tooled extra height heatsink, but there is no reason why it couldn't be done. than market it as a bridgeable sundown saz-6000d. LOL that would be one killer amp in the lanes for street competitors limited to one battery and car off. A pair of saz-6000d's (note that this is not representitive of an actual sundown product, more of a wish). *laughs* Nice thought, but the build cost and resultant price would make it very prohibitive to 99% of my customers.
  4. It would require a specially tooled extra height heatsink, but there is no reason why it couldn't be done.
  5. E-Mail me, NOT PM*, at [email protected] for package pricing... if you want multiple items I will cut a deal. Need to get things moving out of here to make some room! * No PMs since my box gets full so fast.
  6. Looks very good Did you get your gear from James? I think I recall him telling me about your install.
  7. I've sold one of them so far. I have three more, two are b-stock, one is used. They are all $350 shipped each to the continental 48 states and all, even the used one, have full warranty like new
  8. Now that I have more of them I'll be getting 12v test as soon as possible Production models are out for the Team and will soon be available to consumers in a few weeks.
  9. How did it go? I wish I could have made it... had to get a phone and do father's day stuff, though. You know how it is!
  10. The payroll comment was my favorite... I'm barely on the Sundown payroll and I own the company I will just now begin paying myself a regular salary in a few more weeks! Until now I have been re-investing everything into the company.
  11. Just came in Friday... I've been sick, busy, and I was out going to that nSPL show all day yesterday I haven't really had time to let everyone know whats up.
  12. Yes, they are in for Team members now.
  13. Steve, Interesting indeed. I find it a bit ironic that he is accusing Sundown of fabricating test results... by using fabricated test results as evidence. Don't you agree?
  14. A few Sundown guys at the show today... Big Al with 2x SAZ-3000Ds @ 0.7 DCR each un-strapped running on only two Kinetik 2400s + starter battery... powering 2x Kicker Solo-X 18" subs in a daily-tuned listenable, beautifully done, fiberglass box. All in his Cadillac Escalade. Honestly don't remember his class designation... believe it was truck/suv 25 - 48. 150.9 dB today! He has 2 more SAZ-3000Ds and more batteries going in soon. Each 3000D will be seeing 1/2 the impedance that the two from today were seeing. --- My brother, Adam Fuller, running 2x DD 9510s D4s @ 1 ohm strapped (1/2 ohm per amp) on 2x 1500Ds on stock electrical + a DEKA Intimidator in the no-wall 0-24 class. All in his GMC 2500HD crew cab diesel truck. 148.5 dB today! He had some problems today... his 3Sixty.2 was popping and doing crazy stuff so he took it out of the system. All testing was done with it IN so that threw things off a bit. Earlier testing yielded higher scores but due to the problems that is all she wrote at this show since he wasn't able to re-tune the system. It is still 6/10ths up from the last show he attended, so a good improvement. --- That was it for Sundown at this show, not too bad all-in-all.
  15. i dont believe that even one bit. There are very very few amps in the world including elite level amps that can hang with the 4kw on a 16 volt unlimited battery system. What I dont understand is if these amps are so good and so cheap how come nobody is loud with them yet? Theyve been out for over a year now havent they? Why dont you see extreme vehicles running 100 sundown amps instead of 10 or 20 higher priced ones that apparently put out less power? If you don't believe it then call Sean out. Ibanender on the forums... he'll tell you straight up. Go ahead, call him a liar if you still don't believe it. Plenty of people saw him with 4kws and plenty of people know he now has Sundown 1500Ds, and he bought them from me... no freebies. They have not yet been out a year. I started selling them towards the end of August 2006. I don't know where you get this "nobody is loud" as plenty of Sundown owners are in the 150s. The way it looks there will soon be at least one in the 160s. Trust me, you will see more in the near future. Sundown is a SMALL company, alot of extreme guys don't even know who we are! I meet new people at every show that have no idea who Sundown is. Sundown doesn't have a huge marketing budget or the funds to hand out free amps to everyone, it takes time to get word out. I'm not trying to explode so fast that I can't keep inventory in stock for my dealers. I felt bad when I was out of 1500Ds for five days recently. Grow too fast and that will happen ALOT. And trust me... I could charge more for the 1500D and still sell them. My dealers are always shocked about the low cost compared to Memphis and other big names when they test the amps and see how well they do. Fact is, being that Sundown is a small company I can get away with making less margin than larger companies can. Why would I make less money? Well, fact is, I love audio... so I'm doing exactly what I want to do, as long as I can pay the bills and continue to come out with new products that works for me.
  16. I am going to close this thread if you continue to talk in circles and make statements with no basis in reality while also ignoring any and all evidence to the contrary. It is obvious to everyone but you that you have no idea what you are talking about.
  17. Wagonized, You sir have reading comprehension issues... Sean measured 4x 1500Ds vs. 2x 4kws in his truck on a mess of batteries on a 16 volt system. The 1500Ds did more power... he BOUGHT the amps from me and let me post his test results. You have also failed to discredit my VIDEO of clamping the amp.
  18. I don't know why it's so hard for you to understand that Sundown is a new company. Sundown has been around for under a year at this point, do you really expect all sorts of world records to be set already when we haven't even been around for a finals? You REALLY need to do some research before you continue to make ridiculous statements. * Search for stevew007 on the forum... he is in the 150s now in his CRX and has several first places finishes this season. * My brother has scored first in nSPL no-Wall 0-24 this season at nearly every show... he is close to breaking 150 dB in this class and could potentially go in for a record or at least place at finals if he keeps it up. This is his first season competing and he is doing that well. * Robert Eldridge is in the 158s in MECA with Sundown, and was taking best of show at events before that: http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=8167 http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=7928 * stratusrt01 on here was closing in on 150 dB in nSPL Pro-Trunk before his strut tower broke from all of the weight. Go ahead, search the forums and ask him about it. There are alot more great scores but it's like talking to a rock with you so it's pointless anyhow so I won't waste my time digging them up. I'm sure someone else can chime in with a few more. It's ridiculous to compare records set by DD to Sundown, and you know it. Look at how long their stuff has been out and how many people know the name and run it -- of course they will have more records! Sundown is also not a "db-drag obsessed" company like DD, a large percentage of my customers don't even compete in SPL, they just enjoy their amps day to day. DD concentrates *heavily* on dB-Drag, and it works to create fan-boys like yourself. Sure, they make great stuff, I suggested the 9500s to my brother for his SPL setup, but that doesn't mean that nothing else on earth compares to it! You have two options... you can actually post real facts or you can continue to slander Sundown with your unfounded statements. If you choose the latter I will see that you are banned from this forum for being a troll. If you come up with some valid information then you can go ahead and post away -- but you don't have ANY since I have shown you time and again that the amps do what they say.
  19. 1) You are wrong. Loyd is not on the caraudio.com payroll and I do not sponsor caraudio.com or any other forum. Steve @ Smart Auto Sound sponsors the CCA forums, or he used to anyhow, but that is as close as Sundown gets to sponsoring any forum. 2) Sean Belinger, who is responsible for my high voltage SAZ-1500D and SAZ-3000D testing swapped out 2x Memphis 4kw for 4x SAZ-1500Ds and gained power and SPL. Would you like to talk to him? He purchased and paid for both the Memphis and the Sundown amplifiers and made his decision about what to run. 3) To my knowledge Yuli doesn't own any Sundown amplifiers. Where did he get them? I've sold very few to Canada so it won't be hard to track that down. If he does, indeed, own them then I am curious about his install details. What part of my video is fabricated? What other tests do you want me to do ON VIDEO? I'll go do them if I have the setup available. You fail to respond completely to the video footage of the amplifier being clamped. Where is it rigged? Heck... I'll take a longer video and get each and every piece as I set it up if you want.
  20. Everything except the PG Active crossover is still for sale.
  21. I clamped the SAE-1000D on my bench setup: Pyramid 50 Amp Power Supply Kinetik 2400 Battery Duralast 1000 CA Battery Fluke AC current / voltage meter Sears DMM Test load used was 2x SI Mag D2 12" all coils in parallel for 0.6 DCR with a rise to 1.08 ohms. Voltage = 32.19 Volts Current = 34.6 Amps Supply = 14.4v rest dropping to 12.5 volts Power = 1113 Watts I know I had alot of people asking about this, so there it is!
  22. Yes? Is that for a question? Or... what?
  23. I'm really tired of people hating with ridiculous and unfounded arguments... Okay... here it is... clamp meter numbers with VIDEO. I just did this in between my last post and this post. 49.3 volts 45.3 amps 2233 Watts With 14.4 volts rest dropping to as low as ~11.5 volts. What you see is my test bench... 50 amp Pyramid power supply, Kinetik 2400, Duralast 1000CA battery, 2x SI Mags all in parallel @ 0.6 ohms measured DCR at the end of the speaker wire. Fluke AC current meter used for output voltage and current, Sears DMM used to show power supply voltage. Calculated impedance rise of 1.08 ohms @ 55 Hz. I can do the test for you again a hundred times and get within 5% of that. I was doing it earlier today when testing some prototypes I got vs. the SAZ-1500D. And yes, a clamp meter test like this one isn't the "best" or "accurate" way to do it (apparant power vs. real power)... but it's what most enthusiasts do so it's easy to compare numbers with other folks online or at shows, etc. I made it fast so the video would be easy to download... but if anyone has doubts I can take photos of any part of the setup, even video any part of the setup. Suffice to say everything is spot on. I use the same test setup for everything... amp repairs, testing protos, etc... not rigged for anything. VIDEO: http://www.sundownaudio.com/misc/CIMG1519.AVI
  24. ridiculous and illogical? the test numbers posted for the sundown 1500d were done so by someone on THEIR payroll. Similar to how the DD Z1 puts out 6000 rms on soundpressure.com. Except morons actually believe it because the sundown amp is a lot more affordable. A strapped pair of 1500d's has been tested to be 2.5db below a z1. And generally the z1s are known to put out a real world wattage in the 2000-3000 watt range depending on voltage drop, box rise etc. So in REALITY which amp is better dollar per watt? Sundown amps might be decent for beginners but I dont understand what their claim to fame is about running at 0.5 ohm daily. There are probably 100 other amps in the world that can do this no problem. And make more power. If you want to buy sundown go ahead....but dont pick up a lump of chit and try to tell people its gold. Neither Loyd nor Sean is on the Sundown payroll. Both of them purchased their amplifiers and are not and were not paid by me to do any testing. Testing was done of their own accord. I have no clue where the rumor that they work for me came from. Who tested the 1500Ds vs the Z1? I don't know about that test nor have I seen it posted until you mentioned it. Link would be nice. I suppose you are from the Canadian Car Audio forum where they love to hate on Sundown with little to no facts. Look around and you will be seeing good numbers from Sundown guys in the lanes. There already are several guys in the high 150s and I posted as such on the Canadian forum... some guys put the results down since they weren't "DB Drag" but were MECA, nSPL, etc. Sure... DD has more records, and they should! They are a bigger company that has been around longer and have more people running their gear... that is a no brainer. Anyhow... whether you think the product is good or not has no bearing on the reality that it is a fine product and I have a slew of satisfied customers who have tested their amps themselves and made up their minds.
