  1. It is not practical. The amp requires 300 amp fusing. This would require TEN 30 amp fuses... and that just doesn't make sense. It is much simpler to have an external 300 amp ANL fuse for the amp. You will find that most extremely large amps require external fusing for this reason.
  2. Martin, The amps handle the load no problem... it's just people who don't research how to set them up causing problems. Two of them will burp just fine at 1 ohms strapped (1/2 per amp) with a Kinetik 2400 backing them up. Thirty seconds is a bit long... any reason for not idling the engine?
  3. Four more amps eh? Sounds good to me Rob
  4. There seems to be some confusion about the primary goal of this sub on the other forums... this woofer was made as a great sounding entry level woofer. This primary goal was to sound exceptionally good compared to other woofers in it's price class. Secondary to sounding good I wanted it to last a LONG time and be tolerant to abuse -- demonstrating this part is the primary focus of this thread. This is NOT an SPL woofer... it is a great sounding small woofer that just happens to do pretty well on the meter and handle alot more than rated power. I'm looking forward to getting more reviews about the SOUND of the woofer. That is what it is all about. SPL for the dollar was not the focus of the design, but it happens to do pretty darn well for a woofer designed primarily to sound as good as possible in it's price range.
  5. That information is not available yet. Depending on the changes needed to make the 15" version work it could be the same or it could be more.
  6. The final production model will be getting a rubber gasket like higher end subwoofers. I didn't really like the front "integrated gasket" deal. Those always get torn up and don't help with a seal when the woofer is mounted normally. Just a little update as I hammer out final details on this guy... also, a 15" model may be offered but not initially. I am looking into the details of the motor I have on the 10" and 12" models to see if simple coil changes can keep it strong enough for a 15" cone. If not, I will develop a slightly larger motor for the 15" version of the Integrity E series Who would be interested in a 15" model? I need to survey interest before I go farther than the prototype phase on the 15" model. I'll be talking to my dealers too... but I'll keep the forum updated as always.
  7. Don't really have a time line on it. I would say within a year, though.
  8. Will they? Probably. Will you have warranty support? Nope. When I was doing my abuse testing I hooked it up to loads under 1 ohm and it was okay. I absolutely do not make any guarantee below 1 ohm, though. You would be on your own.

Got it... I just emptied the darn thing... too many PMs
  10. Congrats to you too then Ricky! Good showing
  11. Awesome, glad to hear it I'm sure it'll do you well in the lanes too!
  12. Excellent work as always Rob!
  13. 12" and 15" will be first. The 18" model will take more time and is currently not even in the prototype phase.
  14. I wouldn't call it misleading... the pics show what the testing was done in I also don't have any "normal vehicles" on hand capable of supplying the juice to the amps to produce that kind of power... at least not anyone with test equipment like Sean has laying around. It is quite likely I could replicate that number in my Civic with a proper box, though, as that was a low-tuned box not optimized for SPL in any manner... too much bracing (turbulence) and too small of a port (only 36 in^2 of area). Once I have an engine, alternator, and batteries in the Civic I'll be posting some testing from it.
  15. MSRP is going to be around $649 on the 12" and $699 on the 15" model. There will probably be a pre-sale offer and, as always, dealers can be contacted directly for price quotes.
  16. Well, the daily testing will be on 4 SAZ-1500's at .5 in a folded horn tuned to around 34hz......Of course it'll be metered also with that low of tuning. Excellent Your trunk is no normal trunk
  17. The only proto has been sent out to a Team Sundown member, sorry Once I get production models I should be able to test 12.8 volt power in my Civic as it will be up and running by then.
  18. For sale. One SAZ-1500D, brand new in box. This unit has a blemish on the finish, but is otherwise brand new. I inspect each one before it goes out and caught this one: $475 shipped in the continental USA. This amplifier carries full warranty coverage.

    I try my best
  20. We had 4x SAZ-1500Ds @ 1/2 ohm each. This was also in a truck with concrete re-inforced walls and 8 huge battieries. Yours is in a trunk with one amp with way less power... so don't feel bad.
  21. That will be a great combo, although two would work very well with even just an SAX-100.2 as they are quite efficient.
  22. That might have to wait until I get the production models so I have an electrical system capable of doing the testing on hand.
  23. They will be in around 2.5 - 3 months from now if everything goes smoothly.
  24. Woops. I knew I forgot something, I'll send em' tonight.
  25. Nominal was under 1 ohm, but actual impedance was above 1 ohm. I will be doing more testing down the line.
